Prologue

3th February 1403

Today is the day of my execution, The Villainous Male Empress of the Ning dynasty,Xiao Dingxiang.

The emperor,my supposed husband never once treated me like his spouse,I was just someone who was in charge of the harem.

I always tried to please him but those cold eyes never seemed to warm up.

As the years passed I became very bitter,this resulting in my scheming against Imperial Noble Consort Hui, his majesty's most cherished concubine.

I would have accepted even the little affection he could offer.

The guards tied my wrists before dragging me out of the cell.

After 3 days of torture which I barely survived,It was hard to move my body therefore I was walking very slow which annoyed them .

They would push me and yell at me to walk faster but they given up after a while.

The emperor isn't present to my execution,for the death of a insignificant person like is wasting the son of heaven's time.

Through his majesty didn't attended,the officials are all present.

Only now,facing death I seem to regret my wrongdoings.Human nature is truly amusing.

The guards made me kneel on the wood platform, the execution starting.

As the executor is getting ready to do his job,I closed my eyes accepting my fate.

I only wish I didn't love the emperor and lived my life peacefully.

The sharp sword hit my neck and everything ended abruptly.

Instead of being burned by the flames of hell I opened my eyes to find myself in.. a grand chamber?

I couldn't see properly, my vision being blurred by a red veil.

I lifted slightly the red veil to take a better look at the place I was in, only to confirm my doubt.

It's my wedding night, but how could it be?

But I'm pretty sure I died..how..?Did..the gods grand me a second chance..?

I smiled slightly, this time I won't be the villainous empress, I will live as peacefully as I could as the empress of Ning dynasty!
