Water Area, Sudden Changes

Meanwhile, the blue-clad woman stared at the man opposite her in hate.

Then she raised her hands in the air and waved them as a shocking manifestation of a long and beautiful crystal blue staff suddenly appeared, the staff was followed by a sapphire blue crystal orb the size of a coconut.

They appeared so suddenly and out of nowhere as if she had summoned them using merely her hands.

Her slender hands reached out towards the blue staff and tightly held it using both of her hands while she beckoned for the blue orb to orbit around her.

She gave a fleeting glance towards the man and opened her mouth and various incomprehensibly mystical words came out of her mouth.

The black-clad man did not want her to finish the spell thus he decisive threw a bunch of daggers at her, these daggers had a mix of paralyzing and explosive effects on them and could instantly blow up any normal person if hit.

The red and yellow papers attached to the daggers wildly fluttered while they were swiftly flying towards the woman.

If she would let these daggers hit her then she would either sustain severe injuries or die miserably due to her fragile defense as a mage.

The daggers arrived before her not long later and they were about to pierce her body when the blue orb silently orbiting around her shone a pale blue light that covered the woman in a thin film-like barrier.

The daggers were strangely absorbed by the seemingly fragile barrier and it looked like it had no plans to spit out what it had eaten as it just broke immediately after it swallowed his daggers.

Then both the black-clad man and Mirage heard the woman cried out.

Water Area!

Her staff glowed a blue bright light that encompassed the whole room and the orbiting crystal orb remained afloat to her side and one could see that its glow was also faintly weakening as if its stored power was being consumed by the spell that she casted.

All of the people inside were affected differently by the spell that she used and the two men felt their bodies go slightly weak while the woman only felt unprecedented comfort all over her body.

The blue light fully expanded and it gently carpeted the entire room with its bright glow Mirage who was enveloped by the light immediately felt its effects as well as he received notifications from his game system.

[ You are affected by a skill! ]

[ All Stats weakened by 3%. Additionally, mobility skills are disabled throughout the skill's duration. ]

The weakening of his stats did not affect him much but he still felt the obvious decrease in his Intelligence though it was quite faint as it only fell by a tiny margin.

Though the skill barely affected him, he still felt the urge to escape from its effective skill radius as he did not want this uncomfortable feeling to last.

The black-clad man also felt the same as he was the most affected person in this Water Area, his agility was significantly reduced thus lowering his speed and attack speed as well.

He also tried using his Shadow Mend skill but experienced a disturbance midway and he had no choice but to terminate the use of skill and tried another.

He did not have a game screen where it displayed the disabled skills like Mirage so how could he possibly know which skill could and couldn't be used? He knew that this was related to the skill that the woman used.

The blue-clad woman did not stay idle as she had already finished chanting her second skill.

Water Bullets!

Sharp bullets made out of water continuously came out of her staff and one could even hear the air being ripped by the sheer speed of these bullets.

They were extremely fast as they reached the black-clad man in an instant.

The man was caught off guard and he was hit by a few and as a result, his black clothes were filled with small bullet holes.

His expression rapidly changed and he immediately ran around the room to evade the endless barrage of the water bullets and it seemed as if she had an infinite amount of ammo as she looked like she wasn't running out of it anytime soon.

The black-clad man wasn't running passively as he threw daggers after daggers to the woman, but due to his reduced attack speed, the rate of his throwing dagger was significantly lowered.

The woman was pleased by this as she leisurely aimed her staff at the man who was running around the room like a rat while easily dodging the thrown projectiles to her at the same time.

The man did not panic by this but then he saw the azure-haired youth standing ahead of him seemingly scared out of his wits and he was shocked then gave an urgent shout at him.

"Aren't you going to run away?!"

Mirage heard his shout but he did not feel gratified by his warning at all as he was grumbling at the man's action instead.

'Why shout like that when it's obvious that she had already forgotten about and had her whole focus on you and yet... yet you!'

He was gnashing his teeth while he gave the man a cold glare.

Earlier, he deliberately stood aside and let them fight it out until the end of the skill's duration and yet this blockhead just ruined his plan of going low-profile by shouting like that.

'If I was in the woman's position then I would definitely target the weakened faster one first and deal with the weakened slower one later. I'm quite curious of what she would do.'

He was musing this to himself while running in the same direction as the man because he certainly didn't want to become the practice target of these terrifying bullets at all.

Her Water Area only had limited duration and it would be a problem for her if the man in black was left unchecked during this time especially with how swift he moves when he's at his peak.

If she were to let him recover his peak speed then his threat to her would drastically increase for sure.

The size of the hall wasn't as large as a running track field so they could only run in circles around the room to dodge the bullets and as long as they had the stamina to spare then they would be temporarily safe, was what they thought to themselves.

The woman felt that she should not let them run around the room any longer as her mana was also being continuously expended each time she fired off a bullet at them.

She wasn't a reckless gambler as she wasn't even certain that her mana would be able to last longer than their staminas, and at the rate that her mana was being consumed, she would only be able to maintain this reckless mana expenditure for five to six minutes at most.

She decisively terminated her Water Bullet as she was silently thinking to herself.

'This can't go on, I could already feel that my water area is weakening and it would only be a matter of time until it ultimately stops on its own.'

She immediately extended her hand towards the blue crystal ball floating beside her and held it in her right hand while her long blue staff is held in her left hand.

'The spell I'm about to cast right now was just created back when I was at my peak strength so it is extremely unstable right now as the spell wasn't optimized for a long time already.'

She gripped her staff tightly and muttered chants after chants of unknown language under her breath, her dormant mana energy were surging as her crystal ball's glow rapidly dimmed as if it would break at any moment already.

The black-clad man heaved a sigh of relief as he saw that the woman had stopped her barrage of bullets, his daggers had already been mostly depleted by her, he would only use the remaining ones if he met an emergency in the future.

But before he could relax his tensed nerves he suddenly felt a strong threat coming from the blue-clad woman.

He didn't know what spell she was chanting but he knew that it was highly dangerous for him to let her finish it successfully, thus he had to interrupt her chanting but he felt that throwing the explosive daggers he had on him was quite a waste so he could only dash towards her to stop her spell chant.

His speed suddenly skyrocketed as he applied buffs after buffs on his body.

He arrived before the woman in an instant and was about to stab his dagger on her neck when she abruptly stopped her chant and opened her eyes that revealed a pair of sapphire blue eyes that glittered brightly like the stars.

She opened her mouth and shouted.

Water Area: Blasting Torrents!

The man did not care whether she opened her eyes or not and he was about to stab his dagger when he suddenly felt that the ground below him vibrated intensely as if something was forcefully coming out of the ground.

He was shocked and retracted his dagger as he moved and embarrassingly retreated a few meters back.

He gave a solemn gaze at where he stood from before and raging waters suddenly came out of the ground out of nowhere, the ground was undamaged but violent water came out of it as it shot through the air like a huge wale discharging its water inside its body.

He was shocked as he still felt the violent shaking of the ground and he even felt the brewing of another torrent on the ground below him.

He was about to jump away again when he and the woman suddenly heard the leisure voice of a man.

"Could you please terminate this area skill of yours?"
