Chapter 29: Missing Him

“Good morning!” Martha had chimed from where she was sitting at her desk, Thea offered her a wave as the doors closed behind her. “You’re the second person in here this morning! Mr. Wynters still hasn’t arrived, but that’s okay, I know he got called away last night on some business.”

“Yeah I know, I was told that too.” Thea responded as she paused at the front desk to make idle chatter. Ash had never come to her place last night but she assumed that he had gotten in later than what he had thought he would, so she chalked it up to him not wanting to disturb her so late at night. But now that Martha had said that he still wasn’t at work, she was beginning to worry. Her wolf tried to convince her that they needed to go look for him right now.

“Well, I hope he shows up soon, if not, did he give you the meeting notes for today?” Martha asked as she looked up at Thea who shook her head with a quiet huff.
