The stars were getting closer and closer, and soon they were right above the city.
Aesther could not move, she was too stunned to even breathe.
As soon as they brushed the city barrier, it became visible in the form of a scarlet net over the lands. Silver clashed with crimson, and for an instant, all other colours ceased to exist. Their lights exploded all around, the force of the impact sent debris flying across the barren city, and uprooted the scarce flora.
The ghosts inside the barrier wailed and cried, unable to do anything.
Aesther anxiously looked around the mansion, crossing the hallways with quick stiff strides. But no matter where she went, there were no signs of Ezrahl. He would never leave her like that. It was not right... it did not made sense...
But she could not find him anywhere.
"Enzo!" Aesther called out when she caught a glimpse of him.
