The following day, we woke up early and headed east towards the mountains. After walking for two days, we finally reached our destination: an old abandoned temple.
C: This place makes me nervous. What was this used for anyway?
S: This is an old temple. It was used by angels, but after the first war, it was abandoned.
C: What exactly are we doing here?
S: We are looking for a scroll. A single piece of paper with angelic writings.
C: Ok. I'll start at the altar. Care to tell me why we need it?
S: Each of these scrolls contains an angel's soul. It will be used for the final battle against the Forgotten. It will weaken her enough so I can finish her.
C: How many of these will we need?
S: At least ten.
C: That's a lot.
S: She is a powerful demon, and we need all the help we can get.
C: Can't we ask for help from someone else?
S: There is no one else. The angels are currently battling her army. You can compel vampires and werewolves to help you, but not with your current power. And demons bend to her will.
C: Yay. This can't be any better.
As I was walking away from the altar, I tripped on something. It was a hidden lever inside the floorboard. Loud noises filled the temple ruins. A pillar emerged in front of the altar.
C: I think I found it.
S: You think? Grab it, and let's get out of here.
By the time I grabbed the scroll, it was too late. A dozen black humanoid-like creatures surrounded us.
C: Ok, what are those?
S: Servants of the Forgotten. Stay back and cover me.
C: I'll try.
Sebastian drew his sword. He was fast like the wind, cutting them down one by one. But there were too many of them.
S: There are just too many. These creatures are stupid, but they will overwhelm us with numbers.
C: I have a plan, but you might have to carry me back to the house after this.
S: Just don't try anything too stupid.
C: Ilizla Taram Sakienia.
Shadows all over started moving. They took the shape of the two of us. Now, our numbers match theirs.
S: Clones?! Don't be crazy. Disable the spell before you die.
C: They are just Reflections. They will disappear in contact. Start running.
Sebastian nodded and picked me up. I tried to concentrate on the spell so it wouldn't break. We ran away successfully, and he carried me for a few hours.
C: Sebastian. The Moon is up.
S: And?
C: You really can put me down now.
He put me down gently, and I started walking on my feet.
S: Are you alright?
C: Yes. Relax partner. I can take one for the team as well.
S: Yes, you can... Just do anything as big as this. I saw you shaking just after twenty seconds.
C: I'm still weak, but that doesn't mean I can try to give it my all.
S: Don't do anything reckless again like that.
C: No promises.
