Training session after training session

It has been a couple of days since Nix accepted Zion's student. Nix has improved his skills a lot since then. Today Nix is standing across from Zion holding a wooden scythe, while Zion has a wooden sword like usual.

"So boy, ready to take another beating?"

"Heh, I should be saying that to you old man. I ain't losing all of these today."

And with those words, Nix charges at Zion. Nix swings his scythe downwards at Zion. Zion dodges by stepping away. When Zion goes to counterattack, Nix jumps off the ground using the scythe as leverage.

Kicking Zion in the face Nix smiles."That all you got old man? Or is your old age catching up to you?"

Zion spits out some blood and smiles."That was a good one brat. But now I'm gonna get serious."

Nix and Zion charge at each other. Zion swings his blade at Nix. Nix jumps back planting his scythe on the ground. Zion uses the momentum of his swing to do a spinning kick. Nix jumps pulling his scythe out of the ground and spinning. using the momentum Nix swings down the scythe.

Zion dodges to the side and punches Nix away. Nix recovers quickly and throws his scythe at Zion.

Zion dodges the scythe by ducking down. Nix connects a shadow rope to the scythe. Zion expecting the blade to come down at him dodges to the side while crouched.

But that didn't happen. Nix pulled himself towards the scythe to land a punch right on the old man's face.

Zion staggers back with blood dripping out his nose."Damn kid, you don't know how to hold back do you?"

"Hold back my ass. That's just revenge for beating me."

"It's time Nix. I haven't used any magic in our spars. Now I think you are ready for it."

Nix gets prepared for anything to come at him. Zion just dashes at him swinging his sword at Nix. Nix jumps back, but Zion stretches out his arm and shoots out a fireball.

"Ohhh shit!"

The fireball hits Nix right in the chest. Exploding the fireball launches Nix out of the arena. Nix lies on the ground trying to make sense of what happened.

"Well boy, still confident you can beat me? Or were you all bark and no bite?"

Nix gets up and glares at Zion."Old man, we both know I wasn't able to dodge that."

"Stop making excuses and get up already. Training ain't over until I say so."

With that Nix gets up and charges at Zion again.

"Get up. Again."

--------(Another hour later)-------

"Again. We're not done yet."

--------(30 minutes later)---------

Nix is covered in minor burns with blood dripping down his head and body. There are black and blue bruises covering almost his whole body.

"Alright training is over. Go rest up for tomorrow."

Before Zion could walk away Nix falls over and passes out. The old man seeing this just sighs before picking Nix up.

"You lasted longer than I thought you would. Congrats kid. Most people would have given up and passed out within the first hour. I guess I can take you somewhere to eat later as a reward."

Zion arrives at the guild infirmary. Zion lays Nix on the bed and has the clerics look over Nix.

The old man looks back at Nix and smiles.

"You will go far, kid. I'll make sure of that."
