Objective: Survive

The dragon roared at Nix. Nix wasn't able to stay on his feet and was sent flying away from the dragon.

Slamming into a tree, Nix groaned in pain.

"Oooohhh, shit. That hurt." Nix said.

Feeling the temperature rise, Nix rolled out the way. The fireball that was launched at Nix, exploded and sent Nix rolling even further.

Getting back onto his feet, Nix bolted away from the dragon. Running as fast as he can, Nix weaved through the trees.

The flame breather kept chasing in the air. Launching fireballs, that if they directly hit, would incinerate any human.

Running, Nix ran and ran, but it was pointless. He ran onto a cliff ledge.

Sliding to a stop, Nix looks down the cliff, then looks at the gap between him and the other side.

Backing up, to get a running start, Nix jumps as far as he can.

Only to make it halfway.

Using his shadow, Nix creates a rope and pulls himself across. Making it the rest of the way. But the dragon was still after him.

An explosion went off underneath Nix, sending him flying. Laying on the ground, Nix tried to fight through the pain.

Getting to his knees, the dragon, landed right in front of Nix.

Without being able to do anything, the dragon launched a blast of fire toward Nix.

Accepting his fate, Nix closed his eyes.

Opening his eyes, Nix was met with darkness. There was nothing around him. It was just a void.

'Where am I?' Nix thinks to himself.

'How do I get out of this place?'

Without much to do, Nix tries to take a step forward, to realize he can't move.

Trying to move again, Nix hears something.

"Is h----- ake?"

"I th- he's wake-up."

Nix hears people talking. But he can't hear them right. It's like he's under the water.

A bright light, shines on Nix, blinding him.

"He's awake! Quick! Go get the doctor!" Someone says.

Blinking his eyes repeatedly, Nix adjusts to the light.

Looking down, Nix is covered in bandages. Trying to move his arm, Nix was assaulted by pain.

"I wouldn't try that if I were you." A voice says.

Looking over to say that, Nix sees the to-be doctor.

With short black hair and black eyes, she approached Nix.

"You took quite the beating. When we found you, we thought you were dead." She says

"W-what happened?" Nix says. His voice sounds dry.

"Here drink this." She gives Nix a glass of water." You were drifting down the river when we found you. You were severely injured." She says.

"I see. Thanks for saving me." Nix says.

"It's my job to save lives. Now get some rest. You're gonna be here for a while." She says.

Leaving, Nix saves his next question for later and looks through the window to his right.

Thinking about his future, and what to do until then.

Drifting off to sleep, Nix rests peacefully.
