Interlude: a lost spirit

In a dark part of a forest where the sun will never see, and a thick most blocking all of one's sight.

"It's so cold. So cold. There's nothing but the cold. No warmth. How long has it been? Why did they abandon me? Why did I need to die? It's so cold. I want them dead."

A man wandering through the forest kept muttering. But no animal or beast could see or hear the man.

"How long has it been? I feel like breaking. Just let the darkness consume me. It's so cold. Maybe going to the dark will make it end. So cold. Why is no one helping me? What did I do to deserve this."

The spirit has seen many things. People getting killed to them killing the beast. Even some demons wander through the forest.

On the verge of breaking the spirit hears the sound of crunching leaves.

Looking up the spirit sees a man with a scythe resting on his shoulder.

The man looked at the spirit and said." So you are the first one huh?"

"Y-y-you can see me?" The spirit shakily replied.

"Yes, now rest worn out spirit. May the afterlife greet you." Saying those words the man took the scythe off his shoulder and cut the spirit in half.

'I finally don't feel cold anymore.' Those were the spirit's last thoughts before fading into the afterlife.
