Demon

It was a beautiful morning outside, birds, are chirping, people screaming, and the fire going on outside. Wait hold people screaming and fire?

Nix shot out of his bed. Outside he saw.

A festival. He was worried for nothing. Nix sighed and went to the guild.

----------(30 minutes later)----------

Nix arrives at the guild and goes to the counter.

"Hey, there. I was wondering when I could rank up?" Nix says.

"We've been waiting for you to ask about your rank up. If you go to the room on the left the instructor should be there." The clerk says.

Nix entered the room. There were cages around the room. The cages were covered by a cloth.

"So someone is finally here. What rank are you right now?"

"I'm D rank right now."

"Good so to pass the test, you are going to fight a group of goblins, then after a short break, you're going to fight an orc."

Nix nodded his head.

The group of goblins was released. They spotted Nix and ran toward him. When the 10 goblins arrived, they were suddenly cut in half.

"The goblins are dead, just release the orc and let's get this over with," Nix said.

The proctor nodded his head and released the orc.

It was the same as the last one Nix fought. Except this one had a club in its right hand.

The orc ran towards Nix, intending to squash him. When the orc smashed the ground where Nix was, there was no one there. There wasn't anybody anywhere.

The orc looked around confused before a scythe found its way into its head. The orc dead Nix walked over to the proctor."So I pass right?"

The proctor nodded his head and said."Yes, you have been promoted to B rank. For A rank you need to be with the guild for at least a year."

Nix nodded his head and left with the paper saying he passed.

"Congratulations on making it to B rank." The clerk said.

"Thanks."

When Nix was about to leave someone grabbed his shoulder.

"Hey, where do you think you're going?" They said.

Nix turned around and Bill and his team were there.

"You're B rank now! That says celebration!" Bill said

Nix lets out a soft smile and nods.

--------(hours later)----------

With everyone drunk and stumbling to leave the guild, there was a bang followed by screams shortly after.

Turning to see the source of it, there was a man.

He had red skin, horns on his head, and eyes that glowed with hatred.

It was a demon...
