Funeral (51)

For the past two days, Ariel would listen to the nurse explaining what she was doing and could not say a word.

"Ready to wake up?" Doctor Kim said.

She felt a stick and he was then rubbing her arm. She felt a little dizzy and was fighting it. She had to wake up and find out what happened to Marcus.

She could feel herself move as she fought.

"Wow, slow down. Take it easy you will be able to move once your fully awake." Doctor Kim said.

"How are her vitals?" Doctor Hinderaker asked.

"BP steady 120 over 68. Heart 115."

"Ariel, time to wake up but try not to fight it." Hiny said.

Ariel finally opened her eyes and it took a moment to focus. Then she seen the doctors faces. She turned and seen Nurse Cora.

"How do you feel?" Doctor Kim asked.

"Like I was in a car crash." she said.

"That is expected. You will need time to heal. The operation was a successful one. You are breathing with no trouble."

"Will I be able to swim?" she asked.

"I don't see why not. Well my work here is now done. George if you need me again just call but I leave this girl now in your hands." Doctor Kim then left.

"Where is Marcus?"

"He is at Harpers. Ariel we had to tell him you died in order to keep you safe. Bob King sent a Nurse to kill you. Harper stop her but let her tell King that she had succeeded. We even had the report sent out on the news."

"Is he alright?"

"To be honest, no he is not. He took your death hard."

"When can I see him?" she asked.

"Not until we get King and the people helping him. It's not safe for you, or the little girl."

"Where is Lily?"

"With her grandmother on the ocean. The school thinks she out because you died."

"Ok, what now?"

"We start breathing exercises and muscle movement. You should be able to get up and walk in a few days. We have some easy meals for you to eat. Are you hungry?"

"Yes, starved."

Food was brought in and it tasted really good. She did not know how long it had been since she ate. She was going to work hard to get better.

Marcus stopped drinking but pretended he still was. Today was the day of her funeral. Harper helped him into his black suit and Harrison was waiting down stairs to drive them all to the funeral home.

Hiny had gotten a black limousine to carry them all. He had the unknown girl cremated and he would see to it she had a proper resting place for her help in this act.

When Marcus came down he fell into his brothers embrace. They lead him out to the car. Waiting there was Hiny, Tubby, and JJ.

As they got in he looked at them with the sad look on his face. He let a tear roll down his cheek before saying, "You all are stupid morons. I know she is still alive. You thought I could not act but I am very good at it. Now tell me how is she doing?"

They were all shock.

"How long have you known?" JJ asked.

"Since you all had that meeting without me. I saw my brother go in Tubby's house so I went over and heard everthing. I even set up the paparazzi."

"You are one SOB. Why did you let us think you were really hurting then?" Harper said.

"Isn't that what you wanted. Now tell me how is my wife?"

"She if fine. Awake now and trying her hardest to recover. She misses you but after we explained what was going on she is alright with it. She is more worried about the kid more then anything." Hiny said.

They drove and as they pull up he turns to Harrison, "I am going to lose it in there and collapse make sure you catch me."

"I will."

Bob King dressed up to watch the funeral. He sat in the back so no one would notice him but he had a clear picture of everything. Up front was a urn next to a big picture of Ariel as a Mermaid. Flowers of all kinds were everywhere.

Harrison help the grieving Marcus to the front and sat down.

"Today we gather here to not morn the death of a sweet girl but to celebrate her life."

"Ariel Marie Thomas Jensen was a loving and caring person. She was born to Mary Marie Thomas and Mark Alexander Thomas. Who preceded her in death. She was also a big sister to Alexander James Thomas who is also preceded in death."

"She grew up in Saint Alexander Orphanage. She loved working and love swimming getting her dream job of being a real live Mermaid. She was living her dream."

"She met the man she married Marcus James Jensen at the Aquarium and they fell in love."

"Ariel Jensen was loved by many. She never met a person she did not like and would help anyone in need. If she was here today she would not want you to grieve for her but to turn you hearts to helping other."

The minister sat down and a song played. Marcus cried out in pain. "She not dead she can't leave me. I need her to come back." He jumped up and cradled the urn. "Come back to me my Mermaid, please come back." He dropped it and Tubby caught it as Marcus legs gave out and down he went. Harrison was right there for support and JJ and him carried out. Bob King followed.

As they were putting Marcus in the care they heard a clap clap clap.

"I see you now know how it feels to lose the one you love. Enjoy the pain for it's not over. You can't keep an eye on the little one all the time. One down one to go." He then walked off.

Harrison seen the murder in his brother's eyes. "Clam down we will get him."

When they got in Tubby said, "Man you should of been an actor."

"I got good at pretending. The more my father thought I was in pain he would leave me be. He didn't want to draw attention to what he was doing."

"Speaking of that, why did you never tell me what he was doing?" Harrison said.

"Because he said if I told you then he would start doing the same to you. I was protecting you." Harrison grabbed him and hugged him tight.

"We're taking you to the hospital and checking you in as a break down. I'll see to it you are with Ariel." Hiny said.

"Let me get the paparazzi there for a story." Marcus said pulling out his phone.
