A Needed Talk (97)

Ariel found an apron hanging so she put it on and then opened the fridge. There she found and pulled out eggs, green onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and cheese. She then found the perfect pan to make omelets in.

Marcus walked in as she was chopping up the tomatoes. "Can I help?"

"Take 6 eggs and beat them in that bowl." She smiled.

He went to work cracking eggs and then took a whisk and started beating them up.

"Add a little cream to the mix please." She said.

He went to the fridge and pulled out the carton of half and half. "I don't have cream will this do?" He held out the carton.

She looked over, "Yes just a little now, it will help make them fluffy."

He poured just a little and started whisking again. When he was done he put the carton back. She had finished cutting the vegetables.

"What next?"

"Can you make toast?"

"Sure can." He walked over to the bread box and pulled out four slices of sourdough bread. He lightly buttered them and placed them in the toaster over.

She placed a little olive oil in the pan and when it was nice and hot poured in half of the eggs then quickly added all the vegetables and cheese. It did not take long to cook then she started the second omelet.

The coffee beeped and Marcus poured two mugs. He then added a lump of sugar and then a little bit of half and half. "How do you want your coffee?" He asked.

"Black is fine with me unless you have hazel nut creamer."

"No only half and half want some of that?"

"Sure just a touch." She smiled as she placed the second omelet on a plate.

The toast dinged and Marcus took it out and placed more butter on then. Then he placed two slices on each plate.

He carried the coffee and she carried the plates. He thought to himself that this is what he wanted everyday of his life.

They ate in silence. He was afraid he would say or do the wrong thing wrong and she would leave him.

When they were both finished she pushed the plate aside and said, "Let's talk about what happened now."

She could see his eyes widen like a scared puppy.

"The girl in Georgeville start with her." She said.

"Her name is Lena Fuller she went to the same school as I did. I had a big crush on her and during our second year we started dating. I thought I was in love with her and poured all my energy into the relationship. She thought I was smothering her. So she broke up with me and started dating one of my friends. She is not married and ask me to be her date to the reunion but I told her I was in love with you."

"Why did you not introduce me then?"

"I don't know. My brain was not working then. I was just excited to see her and wanted to catch up. I'm sorry."

"I had decided to forgive you for that and was going to tell you before the wedding. Now tell me why you had to get a drink after you left me." She asked.

"I thought I lost you and it hurt like nothing I ever felt. I wanted to numb it a little and I thought the club was the safest place. See Joe the owner is a friend and he won't let someone get drunk in his place. I did not know he was gone and a new girl would do this to me. Just know what I feel for you is so strong that I am scared of losing you. Ariel I thought I loved Lana but that feeling is nothing like what I feel for you. I can see a life with you. Our future together is a happy one with little ones. In my dream world you were pregnant with twins but it was not my seed that got you pregnant but I loved them as must as I loved you. But even then my feelings in my dream was not as strong as it is now. Something is telling me we are meant to be one."

Ariel sat there for a moment as he spoke. When he was done she smiled and took his hand. "I feel the same."

Did he hear wrong? Did she say what he thought he heard? "What was that?"

"Marcus no matter how much I fight it and how much I want to stay mad at you I can't. George made me realize that I love you and I don't want to lose you. You maybe a dumb guy but your my dumb guy. I really want to love you and be apart of your life. I slept better then I ever had in your arms. It doesn't mean I am ready for sex but I would like to keep trying at our relationship."

"Thank you. What do we do now?"

"Not sure, What do you suggest?" She asked.

"Move in with me. I want to wake every morning with you in my arms." He smiled at her.

"Ok, but right now I need to get to work and my work stuff is at my place. Can you help with that?"

"Sure let me get socks and shoes on and we can go. Leave the dishes for my housekeeper. She needs something to do today."

They got ready and he drove her to her apartment. She ran up and was only gone about ten minutes before she was back and he was headed for the rec center.

When they pulled up she leaned over and gave him a kiss. "Pick me up at 5. If you can't make it give me a call so I can take the bus."

"I'll be here."

He watched her walk in then he drove to the office. He was not dressed right but he had suits he could change into.

Everyone stared at him as he walk through the lobby.

"Good morning sir."

He just nodded.
