Internship at the Nighteye Agency!

"I'm sorry, Katsuki, but there's a reason why those hero names were all rejected." You told your boyfriend.

"Damnit! Whose side are you on, Hikari!?" Katsuki snapped. "I've been saving them up!"

You apologized to your boyfriend while failing to hold back a few giggles. You and your classmates were all at the train station to go to the designated locations of your internships. The hero names that Katsuki chose were "King Explosion Murder", "Lord Explosion Murder", and "Explosion Murder". All three of them were rejected for obvious reasons.

"Ya know, you could go with "Dynamight" or "Ground Zero" as your hero name." You suggested as you pulled out your phone and started tapping the screen here and there. "You don't have to use them if you don't like them. They're just suggestions."

You showed your phone to your boyfriend. The screen showed your contact list and his contact name was "Lord Explosion Murder".

"Since it wasn't approved of as your hero name, it can be your contact name instead."

Katsuki stared at the screen for a second before turning his head away, pretending like he doesn't care.

"Whatever. It's not like I care about some name in your damn contacts!"

You laughed. You knew that he was just putting on the tough guy act and actually appreciated the gesture. You kissed your boyfriend goodbye before boarding your train to head to the Nighteye Agency for your internship.

"Sir Nighteye! I am here!" You loudly announced as you burst through the door of Sir Nighteye's office.

The Pro Hero gives you a welcoming smile. "Hikari. It's been too long. How is UA?"

"It's tough, but it's nothing I can't handle. Plus, I've made some awesome friends! I haven't seen you since I move!"

You were very close with Sir Nighteye and you often saw him at your parents' hero agency when you lived in Minato. However, after you and your mom moved, you didn't get to see him again, and after your mother retired from being a pro hero, the partnership between Sir Nighteye and All Might ended. Despite their disbanded partnership, the former sidekick had no resentment  or ill-will against your parents. You got that from all the All Might merchandise that's all over his office. The problem was that you didn't know what caused the partnership to end. Your mother said that it was because of a little dispute, but you knew that the dispute was big enough to end their partnership. You just didn't know what the dispute was about.

Sir Nighteye clears his throat and went back to his cold expression. "Before we start your internship, let me make things clear: I've known you and your family for a very long time, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be soft on you. During your internship at my agency, I will train you and make sure you get some field experience. Don't expect any special treatment."

You smirked. "I don't want special treatment. I want to work hard to become a great hero like my parents."

"Good."

You turned around to leave.

"Before you go, I have a couple questions to ask you."

You turned back to Sir Nighteye.

"What kind of hero do you want to be?"

You thought about your parents and the reason why Izuku called you "Himawari" which is now your hero name. "I want to be... a hero that my father can rely on. I want to be able to protect the smiles of the people I care about. A dear friend of mine said that he saw me as someone who stands tall and strong no matter what stood in my way and as someone who brings light to others at their darkest hour. That's why I chose "Himawari" as my hero name. To become a sunflower that endures any storm, never gives up, shows great resilience, and inspires hope to every person she meets."

"Wow! That's an awesome hero name!" Exclaimed a voice from behind you which made you jump.

You turned around and saw a tall teenage boy with blond hair and blue eyes. What really caught your attention was the UA High School male uniform he's wearing.

"Sorry if I surprised you! I accidentally overheard your conversation with Sir Nighteye when I was passing by. My name is Mirio Togata! I'm a third-year at UA which makes me your upperclassman. We probably never seen each other at school because of how huge the building is. Seriously, anybody can easily get lost in the school without a map or something!"

Togata kind of reminds you of your father and everything he stood for. You heard about him from the other students. They say he's one of the Big Three at UA.

"Mirio is working at my agency for his Work-Studies." Sir Nighteye adds. "He'll help with your training along with my sidekicks, Bubble Girl and Centipeder."

Work-Studies? You never heard of that before you came here. It must be something that you'll get to do when you raach your second or third year.

Togata raised his hand for a hand shake. "You're Hikari Yagi, right? Sir told me a little bit about you."

You looked up at your upperclassman and smiled.

"It's good to meet my upperclassman." You shook his hand. "I'm looking forward to working with you and Sir Nighteye."

During your internship, you met Nighteye's sidekicks, Bubble Girl and Centipeder, and got to know more about Mirio Togata. You gained better control of the water part of your Quirk and you helped with patrolling the streets. On day three of your internship, Izuku sent you his location. It was in Hosu City, though, so you couldn't go to the location. You later found out that he, Iida, and Todoroki were attacked by the Hero Killer - Stain at the location he sent you. You immediately regret not even trying to go to the location and hurriedly called him. He reassured you that the three of them were injured, bu okay. His reassurance didn't help much. You still felt guilty that you weren't able to help your friend when he messaged you his location. If you'd known your classmates were fighting the Hero Killer, you would've reported it or something...

"You shouldn't blame yourself for what happened." Sir Nighteye consoles you after you told him you guilt. "Your friend only sent you his location, and you didn't know what was happening at that time. There were plenty of heroes there to help them. What matters is that they're all alive and the Hero Killer have been apprehended."

After hearing your mentor's words, you decided to read the news about what happened in Hosu. It said that the Hero Killer has killed 17 heroes and he also injured the Pro Hero Ingenium, Tenya Iida's older brother. There was also a video of his last moments. Every second you watched and listened sent chills down your spine. If you were right there when he spoke, you would probably be paralyzed with fear.

On the last day of your internship, you decided to ask Sir Nighteye about the disbanded partnership of him and your father.

"Why did you and dad end your partnership?" You asked.

Nighteye stopped typing something in his computer. You pressed your lips together and waited anxiously for an answer.

"Let's just say that he refused help offered by others..." Nighteye finally spoke. "Including your mother."

You pry him for more answers and you never brought up the topic again. Your father was a hero that was capable of finishing the job himself with his superpower Quirk, but why wouldn't he accept help from your mom? She's his wife and partner, isn't she? You didn't know what was going on with your family and you felt like everyone was keeping things from you.
