Chapter 10. The Essence of Life
It was fifteen years prior when I was sent to the royal residence to insure the health of the grandson of the fifth emperor of the Akkad realm. King Theoden Guanyin is known for his liberality and kindness toward his people. He was clever, shrewd, and a reliable father to his family and his people. He would send himself and expose his audience as a front liner amid a conflict between Elba and Subartu domain. The clash between these three-nation involves their organizations being against one another. "Amaya they said, am I right young lady?" The king retorted. "Greetings to the glorious father of this nation" I expressed, leaning before the king, expressing my courtesy to the royal highness. "You are sent to this palace to assist my grandson in his future regime and commit your life to our blood." The King mumbled. I caught a glimpse of his gaze glaring down straight to my soul with an intense aura. I then replied, "to be heeded your royal highness," I held up and lifted my chin, and added. "I will stand firm as his keeper. I, Amaya Hjordis, will join hands with the royal blood of the Akkad realm. Until the 7th sovereign ruled, I shall then withdraw." After uttering a phrase before the ruler, I was brought to the prince's quarters and asked for a favor to convince the prince. As I entered the room, Prince Artemis was young back then, roosting on the window side, tragic and tangled in a place he never wanted to dwell. "I will pardon you if you pull back yourself from showing" the prince expressed, clasping his knees. I ambled some steps forward when he uttered. "Do you wish to die?" He articulated, gazing after turning his head sideways. "You must be that young lady, the one who's been sent by her master to give up her life to somebody like me." He chuckled and added. "I feel sorry for you." That was how the two of us met, I became his servant at night and a warrior at daylight. He grows up with me and gets to be comfortable telling stories to me. We became good friends after and turned our fellowship into loyalty.
"Igashu Cassius, what are you holding up for!? Mend my child this instant." The Queen requested. Igashu was in a fog, quiet in a hush, standing next to prince Artemis's deceased body. "My queen, I beg your pardon but this child is yet prepared to mend his patient at this minute. A mender must heal with their peaceful contemplations with pure-hearted emotion toward the victim." Uttered by a woman in a floral dress. "Yvette?" The Queen reacted. She bows and welcomes the royal blood family. "It has been a while since I cleared myself out of the royal residence, your highness. It was a pleasure to meet you once more." She reveals a faint grin on her face. Yvette was once a royal physician back in the year of the 5th emperor of the Akkad realm. She was half-mender and half-human, an identical case to Igashu Cassius. Both died and were brought back to life after their parent's sacrifices. Yvette met Igashu within the timberland where his preparation commenced. She was the one who taught Igashu about the Black Ulysses. After the fifth emperor expired, she cleared out the royal residence and began becoming a soothsayer who foresees the future by manipulating her crystal ball. Due to the help of her magical power, devouring a few mana in her body allows her to perform foreseeing the future. Until she sees Igashu. She was stunned by his uniqueness and was incapable of catching a glimpse of his future. It made her more fascinated by Igashu. She begins spying on him using her crystal ball to observe what he does and hides in silence.
"Yvette, it has been a while since you left the palace, father would be glad if you stay a little longer." King Guanyin mumbled. "I am pleased to meet the late emperor of the Akkad realm." Yvette retorted. "But the prince, if it was not rude to ask. May I escort the prince back?" She added. "I beg your mercy to heal my son, ladyship." The Queen beseeched. Yvette then performs healing based on the deceased prince. There are two phases of healing bases. One was Remodeling. It is to remodel the body from being crushed like wounds and cuts. The second was Awakening the body, spirit, soul, and the patient's senses.
While performing mending, the healer must perform the two phases of healing, it is to prevent a failure enactment towards their patients. Manipulating one phase in mending can cause threats to the patient such as spirit walking. Spirit walking is when a person's mentality dies and their soul shoves away from their actual body. They can enact soul dualism after passing into a person who already has a soul, body, senses, and spirit. Soul dualism happens when the soul is spirit walking and transpires to be tainted by the sense of a weakling body to dwell on. In the law of Averchinariams, soul dualism was forbidden which can cause manipulation of the two souls arguing which one of them will rule. It can affect the mentality of the owner's body and can cause mental dehydration or poisoning of their senses. Once the second soul dominates the original body, it will start to slaughter a person who happens to encounter them. They can be lustful or sadistic, or either they can do both. Soul dualism was the opposite of possession of the ancestor of the said Averchinari. Soul dualism comes to a vicious soul that lingers in a weakling body. They cannot perform healing bases like the Averchinariams or be abandoned by their ancestor from the possession. Instead, they could be trapped in the body they possessed.
Yvette was once a part of Delmetorvo, a healer of the body. She used to be a critic or a judger to their tribe back at that point. She carries a necklace of oil in a tiny glass bottle. Implying that she's been possessed by their ancestor in her younger years. "The prince has been recuperated, for now, his body was remodeled and we're settled whereas he's still unconscious. Without further ado, I will perform the second phase of mending." Yvette expressed. She commenced operating the second phase of mending to provoke the prince to be conscious from resting. "The sovereign has been reestablished, he's secure but for presently he needs rest" she included. "You must be tired ladyship, come and rest. Escort the ladyship to a purge quarter!" The queen implored. "To be heeded your royal highness" articulated the handmaid of the royal family.
"Ladyship, what will be the charges of the outlaw Averchinariams?" Query by one of the adherents of the faultfinders. "Worry no more, for I shall declare breakout to the Averchinariams and command to capture the runaway physicians." Utter by one of the critics.
In the interim, within the royal residence, Yvette requested the king to retain Igashu from being captured by the critics and to preserve the boy under his order. "For what reason do I have to be compelled to conceal the boy's presence under my protection?" The King raised a question. "For such a long time, he was the only individual I am unfit to uncover his future, and to dismiss this sort of concern, hangers my doubt about his future and ours. I may not discern his future but he upholds a powerful aura as I stood up to him once. He may be one of the reasons for the prince owning his position of royalty." Yvette expressed. "This boy was the child of the late Averchinari who kicked the bucket at the hand of the critics. His mother who's known for her capability to trade the mana of a certain serpent to a human who once died. The reason why this boy is still alive is because of his mother's shrewdness. In a short period, she was able to perform the hardest manipulation of the said physician. And since that, various healers commence their outrage at Maya and yearn for her mortality" Yvette included her state to the king who was heeding her story. "Understood, I will authorize your request and put the child under my protection. I shall now express my gratitude to you for mending my child and with that, I am momentarily indebted to you." The king articulated. "Your highness, I do not have the guts to let the ruler of the Akkad empire be indebted to his subject. I am afraid I cannot acknowledge your offer. I beg your pardon but I refuse to do such a thing, your Majesty." Yvette retorted. "That's an order, ladyship. The late emperor conducted a lesson for me, to take credit for those who supported us. And you're one of them. In this way, you shall ratify my offer." The King resisted, driving Yvette to abide by the king's proposal.
"Moirai, have you heard the news? Igashu was a rampant Averchinari including Naomi! They have deceived us!" Cyrus reacted by expressing an aggressive expression as he articulated his phrase to Moirai. "I just heard the news, how dare he, he has deceived me twice" Moirai mumbled, trudging her steps absent from their domicile. The townsfolk shared a rumor inside their village.
"How beguiling, the entire village never doubted his innocent appearance, without knowing he was part of an Averchinariams who seeks termination of the serpents. Fortunately, he never knew what we were." Mumbled Jiro who consciously uncovers a doubtful expression. Jiro was a Frofroen dragon, a healer of the soul, and was labeled as a weakling serpent. "He was able to deceive us but he never harmed us," Keisha retorted. She was a Weagenona dragon, a warrior of a knight, and rendered as a snake reptile. "It's because he never knew what our form was. If we were not cautious enough, he must've butchered one of us, devouring our mana to gain power." Lark included. He was a Dayyelsun Mythical serpent, a slayer of the serpents. Forged from a scorpion one. "Enough with the gossip, for now, you must be more attentive knowing that Igashu was an Averchinari. He indeed saw me in my winged serpent shape but I figure he didn't recognize me in the first place. " Moirai expressed, intruding into their discussion. "What?! Did I just pay attention to your phrase correctly, Moirai? Was it on that day after you were lost?" Cyrus responded. "Yes, undoubtedly but he was great to me, he took care of me back at that point, and indeed until now, he has unearthed himself as an Averchinari to preserve my second life. Marcos informed me about the circumstances inside the palace. Amaya quoted a subject relating to my ability to supply life to another who was passing on or had as of now been dead." Moirai retorted. "Does that mean that Igashu comprehends who you truly are?" Cyrus added. "Perhaps he knows almost everything about me and not the entire town." Moirai countered.
The townsfolk spend their night scowling their eyebrows, befuddled and bothered perceiving that somebody knew about Moirai's true shape. While Igashu was secured inside the royal residence. Yvana was left out of the town to hunt the runaway healers, sending them back to Fiasco Mountain to proclaim their sentences. "Igashu Cassius son of Maya, will be sentenced to death for imposing a forbidding law. Dispatching him to The Ruins where he will be constrained to devour powerful mana possessed by the Emovenorioms or rather than say the Ancestors of the Averchinari clan." Articulated by one of the critics. "Yvana must be against your order holiness, she must not be aware of your scheme toward the young man whose mother was once a companion of hers." Answered bherhana who was paying attention to the critic's decision. "You must've loathed Yvana as you articulated those expressions." The critic raised an address. "I would rather dispatch her out from the tribe and turn her into a feral for portraying hastily towards the critics themselves. She was full of pride and stubbornness, I loathe her for being one that I felt antagonistic toward the most. I want her out of our clan." Pherhana murmured. Leading the critics to uncover a faint grin on their faces and chuckle. "I sense disloyalty to you and I abhorred you for that reason. I do not require a mender who seeks power and leverage to win someone's interest and barely acts like a dummy. Without a doubt you're a fool and a living laughingstock who lurks inside the Fiasco Mountain." The critic articulated and included. "I need you out of my sight this instant." Pherhana indeed withdrew herself from the critic's locale and muttered, criticizing the faultfinders for their judgment toward her action.
"I was concealing myself out of the town, lurking inside the Chanty village and bearing up until Naomi showed up upon meeting me for our plot to capture a serpent to offer it to the ladyship. I was roosting on the branch of a massive trunk that was placed between the block spotted far away from the zone. Resting my head on my arm being set on my knee, taking notice of the clamors encompassing me. I hoisted up my chin and found
an Averchinari rooming out the town, be cloth in her floral kerchief bundling around her face. Those lanky ears and extended nails invaded my attention as I was tightened spying on her. Crunched my back, tiptoeing my lower leg, as I extended out my tail when I saw a glimpse of a man wobbling like an intoxicated, deserting towards holiness. I hastily jerk off the branch making it twitch. I cleared out and let the leaves plummet down to the ground. I sprint towards the wild feral who seems to be skilled in swordsmanship. it hissed at me as I swung my dagger on its nape, leading me to get to be his prey, sprinting within the inverse course from the sacredness, and baiting the wild feral absent. I was late when I realized it was one of the adherents of the royal blood. Amos is a promising swordsman who performs a violent approach when having a conflict. We brought ourselves in front of the Lockwood village, catching a glimpse of the crowd glaring at us. "Ferals!" Articulated by the aged lady, the children begin wailing, and the mother can be taken note of gathering their child absent far away from our clash. I gaze sideways securing my conspiracy from the feral, he can be seen hissing and drooling while restraining my rational soundness. But I kept my distance past his wrath and managed to define my crusade. I was about to butcher him when Amaya arrived and suspended our clash. "Enough!" She expressed it in an uproarious way, bragging closely about her blade before us. She ambles her steps and butchers the feral in half, splashing the green taint of the wild feral's blood into my fabric. I get a handle on the air as a piece of me breaks in terror.
Epilogue
"Amaya, you are one of the most grounded mythical serpents that were fashioned from the Lioness. An Earfoley Mythical serpent is known to manipulate a replica by fair clenching its fist. Other than that, a destroyer of the earth. I am still exploring why they are titled critical serpents that are forged. As your master, I will prepare you for combat." Master Leo's word remains in my sanity and comprehends the pith of his last will. Presently, I am still assuming the purpose of why we were forged and who managed to create such a thing. Depending on our past, all of us were tainted by suffering. I ponder why she chose us, was it to cause the termination of people? I ponder the meaning of my life, considering what I will be playing in this role of mine. We'll never know what lies ahead. I asked myself, will I persist in playing a role as a servant? Perhaps I will end up as the one being served and highly respected. I .m starting to feel the fear of turning myself into a bad character. I loathed portraying the manner I despised the most. And I abhor abandoning myself, shutting people down who oppose my notion. I wish I never turn into a monster.
"Amaya, have you seen Amos? I requested him to enter the village of the dead to look for a certain serpent." the king whispered. I took a glance at the man running inside the king's hall. "Your majesty, I have a report. The Village and the townsfolk were under commotion, there's been a feral attack at the Lockwood village." I hastily excused myself from the king's presence and shove myself into the said village. It was when I saw Amos turning into a wild feral, hissing, and drooling. I instantly clenched my fist by folding my knuckles into my palm. And swap his replica with the crowd without anyone noticing. I aggressively flounce my step and swung my blade at the forge imagery of Amos. I wonder on the off chance that he'd take note of that quick exchange. He appears shocked, likely by my action of butchering the feral in half. "Fear no more for she has executed the wild feral." Marcos articulated, appearing out of nowhere. "Leave this thing to me warrioress." He included. We withdrew after pleading forgiveness to the townsfolk who witnessed the slaughtering and returned to the palace to witness the prince's reawakening.
"That woman, I sense a powerful aura dwelling inside her body." Hill mumbles.
