Chapter 44-Catastrophe
Arthur would have to spend a month working for Dwight as part of their bet.
He saw this as a chance to learn more from a Saint and hoped to gain more from their time together.
Dwight, not bothered by Arthur's presence, told him to build a hut outside the dorm.
Unlike a usual dorm, Dwight's place was like a small mansion with a big backyard.
He planned to start a farm and showed Arthur what to do.
Arthur was surprised and felt belittled by his new role as a farmer.
'I am an emperor at all.'
Despite his feelings, he knew he had to follow Dwight's orders.
Working the soil was something Arthur could do easily, but before he began, Dwight gave a strict warning that made Arthur's mood even worse.
"Don't use your powers. Work like everyone else," Dwight said.
Arthur knew this would be tough, but he kept his frustration to himself and accepted the task.
'He must have a reason.'
...…..
At 7 pm, Tessa left her room and was greeted by the delicious smell of food.
Her eyes lit up when she saw Dwight sitting in a chair, smiling warmly at her.
Dwight had made a feast, knowing how tired Tessa was from her practice.
"Let's eat. I know you must be hungry," he said with real concern.
Tessa's cheeks turned red as she saw his charming smile, feeling drawn to him.
She couldn't understand why, even after spending so much time with him, she was still so captivated by his charm.
Despite her growing strength and determination, Tessa felt powerless against Dwight's allure.
She was lost in thought until a beautiful phoenix landed on her shoulder, its sweet chirping bringing her back to reality.
Embarrassed, Tessa quickly looked away and patted the phoenix, Nirvana, to calm herself.
With a slight smile, she took her seat and got ready to enjoy the meal.
The atmosphere was warm and comforting as Tessa and Dwight shared the meal and a connection that didn't need words.
The food was delicious, each bite reflecting the harmony between them.
In the soft light of the dining area, Tessa appreciated the tender moments with Dwight, feeling safe and content in his presence.
'If this feeling would last forever.'
'It's good to be with the young master.'
Despite her feelings for Dwight, she understands that her role is just a maid regardless of her powers in this life.
She knew that her feelings should have been kept so that their relationship like a friend remains forever.
After finishing the meal and clearing the plates, Tessa sat back with a satisfied smile.
The food and Dwight's company had refreshed her both physically and mentally.
'I feel I can practice again.'
"Young Master is the best cook in the world."
She didn't realize that her strength was growing because of Dwight's special food.
He chose not to tell her this, worried that knowing his divine status might change how she saw him.
Dwight valued Tessa in his new life and didn't want to miss the chance to help her if he ever decided to escape his endless boredom and create things across the universe.
Suddenly, Tessa asked Dwight, "Young Master, why is Arthur working so hard outside?"
Through the window, Tessa saw Arthur sweating as he plowed the land without any magical help.
She wondered about it, noticing his determination to earn Dwight's trust.
Dwight smiled and answered, "It's just a test for him. Don't worry about it."
'Who would have thought that the top student would farm for Young Master.'
Tessa, satisfied with the answer, decided to take a bath and head to her room.
Dwight nodded as she left.
Soon after, a tiny figure appeared in front of Dwight, hugging his cheeks excitedly.
"Hehe, Sword God!" said Athena, only 12 inches tall and invisible to everyone but Dwight.
Dwight gently pushed her away, finding her cute, and asked, "What's up? Remember not to bother me unless it's important."
Athena, annoyed by his earlier dismissal, said, "I want to let Tessa compete in the universal tournament next year. I need your permission."
Despite her previous interruption, Dwight remained calm.
He replied, "Go ahead. I believe she can reach Saint level in a year, which will qualify her for the tournament."
Dwight approved, knowing Tessa would eventually become a goddess.
He had given her a divine body, and with hard work and Athena's help, she could easily become a Saint.
Thinking back to his own journey to becoming a Saint at thirty, Dwight considered himself a natural talent.
He had never needed a master and had always forged his path.
Of course, he knew that it was because he had the system before that his life was smooth sailing.
Athena continued, "Also, I'd like to take her to my Spirit Domain for six months of intense training and provide her with resources."
Understanding Tessa's importance to Dwight, Athena asked for his permission.
Dwight thought for a moment before agreeing, "Sure. Train her well. If you need anything, let me know. You have the coordinates to this world from my summoning."
The challenge now was figuring out how to convince Tessa to leave him temporarily.
They had known each other since childhood, and she was very attached to Dwight, making it hard to persuade her.
After much contemplation, a plan began to take shape in Dwight's mind. He shared his ideas with Athena, who readily agreed, recognizing its suitability.
......
In her room, Tessa lay on her bed, feeling a sense of unreality.
She was once just a maid, she had been given an amazing chance—a visit from Athena.
She also had a special physique, as Athena had explained.
Though she was grateful for these opportunities, Tessa was still puzzled by the mysterious figure known as Hope.
While she thought about her situation, she heard a voice she had longed to hear.
"Are you happy?"
Startled, she looked towards the window and saw a man in a white mask—Hope.
"Hope!" she said, surprised by his sudden appearance.
Hope met her gaze and said, "I was just wandering through Fate when I found you. I changed your destiny. I don't want anything in return, but I hope you become strong enough to prevent a disaster that might destroy this world."
Tessa was intrigued and asked, "What disaster?"
She realized Hope's help was crucial and had a significant purpose.
"A demon threatens this world, stronger than anyone at the Nine Star level. You are the hope for this realm, and your strength is needed to stop it,"
Hope explained, stressing the seriousness of the situation.
Feeling the weight of her new responsibility, Tessa asked, "Why did you choose me instead of fighting the demon yourself? You have the power to defeat it easily."
Hope shook his head, sounding resigned. "I'm just a temporary presence here. I can't interfere in the world's fate."
"Do you want this world to be destroyed?" he asked, pressing Tessa about the dire situation.
He also questioned, "Do you want your Young Master to die?"
His words hit her hard. Tessa deeply cared for Dwight, and the thought of him being harmed frightened her.
"What if I ask Athena for help? She must be able to stop the demon," Tessa suggested, hoping for an alternative.
How can she carry the burden of being a hero of the world if her goal in life is to serve her Young Master?
Hope rejected her idea immediately while thinking in his mind.
'Athena is more dangerous than any demons.'
"This task is yours alone," he said, stressing the need for her efforts.
