Chapter 41 - Duel
In the arena, many students eagerly awaited the start of the battle.
Even some teachers had gathered to watch the top students fight.
They were curious about the bet made between the two fighters.
The idea of being a slave for a month was unbearable to a genius like Dwight.
Sitting among the other class S students, Lilia, Cris, and Danica exchanged glances filled with mixed emotions.
"Haha, my credit points are nearly gone, but I didn't expect to gain so many after this duel,"
Cris chuckled, finding this a quicker way to get credit points.
"Hmph, don't be so sure,"
Lilia replied with a sneer, clearly doubting Dwight would win.
'How can a guy who never cultivated win against Arthur?'
Danica shook her head in amusement and added, "Hehe, I believe in Young Master Dwight. He has already won my heart."
Lilia's eyes widened with madness as she realized her rival was now a crazy woman.
'You're hopeless!'
"Look, it's Arthur!"
a student suddenly shouted, pointing to the approaching figure of Arthur.
With a confident smile, he made his way onto the stage.
His physique was well-toned, and his features were handsome, though not as much as Dwight's.
"Wow, he looks strong. Maybe he'll win," murmured one student.
"Yeah, I heard his opponent is just a lazy young master who never practices."
"Luckily, I bet on Arthur."
Whispers and murmurs filled the crowd as Arthur smirked, enjoying the knowledge that many had faith in him.
He had no personal grudge against Dwight; he just wanted to be number one.
Little did he expect that Dwight wouldn't take him seriously.
"Hmph, a mere brat should never disrespect me, an emperor,"
Arthur thought, feeling displeased.
Despite the Starlight Clan's strength, within the academy, he felt no concern.
Having been an emperor in his past life, he believed that with time, he could reach his former level of power, if not surpass it.
The mysterious treasure that had merged with his body was far from ordinary, that much he could sense.
Suddenly, a dashing figure entered, causing the ladies who had been eagerly waiting for him to cheer.
"Go, Young Master Dwight! Teach Arthur a lesson!"
"Yeah, we believe in you!"
The noise level soared, with Dwight's popularity clear.
Arthur's anger grew as he overheard some girls cursing him, suggesting he should give up and not harm Dwight.
Some even curse that he will be eunuch if he hurts Dwight.
Arthur glanced at Dwight and muttered to himself, "I admit, he is handsome, but our difference is not that big."
Trying to console himself, he begrudgingly acknowledged Dwight's attractiveness.
"I thought you wouldn't show up," Arthur said to Dwight.
But Dwight ignored him and replied, "Let's start; I have other matters to attend to."
'How can a brat like you worthy of fighting me?'
Impatience filled Dwight as he tried to avoid the spotlight, but fate seemed to be playing with him and continued to provoke him.
Arthur felt humiliated, sensing Dwight's disdain for him.
"If that's what you want, then let the fight begin!"
Arthur smiled, ready to teach a lesson.
Knowing Dwight was called the lazy young master, he was careful not to use too much force, worried he might hurt Dwight.
"They're starting now," the students whispered, their conversations stopping.
The referee entered the arena and explained the rules.
No one was to kill or permanently injure their opponent, as this would lead to expulsion and severe punishment.
Both fighters nodded, and with the referee's signal, the battle began.
A wave of anticipation swept through the crowd.
Arthur locked his eyes on Dwight and declared, "Prepare for my attack!"
He lunged at Dwight with lightning speed, expecting an easy win.
Dwight, however, stood still, unfazed by Arthur's attack.
'Just as I thought, your braveness is just a facade.'
Sneering inside, Arthur thought his victory was certain.
"As expected, he's weak,"
Arthur thought, smirking as his fist neared Dwight's face.
But unexpectedly, Dwight yawned, and suddenly, Arthur was sent flying out of the arena with a loud boom.
Boom!
Dwight leisurely stretched his hands, looking at the stunned onlookers who were still trying to understand what had happened.
"Wh..hat?"
"Arthur was defeated easily?"
A mischievous smirk appeared on his lips as he casually said, "Heh, go to my dorm, my slave."
Without waiting for a response, he quickly left the arena, leaving the spectators amazed by the surprising show of power.
Seeing Dwight about to be hit, only to yawn and send Arthur flying, the students were confused and curious.
"What just happened?" they asked each other, their collective bewilderment clear.
"Oh no, we made a wrong bet."
"Arthur must have been paid by Dwight to lose. Shit!"
Coughing up blood, Arthur trembled as he looked at Dwight.
The terrifying force from Dwight's yawn had left him scared and amazed.
He realized a powerful law surrounded Dwight's body, repelling his attack.
Laws were the essence he had sought before to understand to become a saint, but he had failed and given up.
Having a law meant inferior beings had no right to approach, let alone harm.
Laws were miraculous, diverse, and awe-inspiring.
Yet, the law he had just felt was unlike any other.
If it had been the law of annihilation, he would have turned to dust.
The sensation was far more ominous, capable of driving weaker individuals into madness.
Arthur never thought a simple yawn from Dwight could unleash such a powerful law.
He now suspected Dwight, like him, was also a reincarnation, but stronger from their past lives.
He hadn't expected to provoke someone so formidable.
Accepting his defeat, Arthur bowed and said, "I accept my loss."
The referee, regaining his composure, declared Dwight the winner.
The students erupted in cheers, hailing Dwight's triumph.
"Haha, I told you Young Master Dwight is awesome!" exclaimed one student.
"Yeah, he's not just handsome, but he defeated Arthur with a mere yawn!" added another.
Laughter filled the air as some students celebrated their newfound credit points.
Meanwhile, those who had bet on Arthur's victory lamented their loss, their credit points gone.
Despite their frustrations, the students who had lost their bets on Arthur's victory restrained themselves, knowing they were no match for his strength.
The majority cheered for Dwight, admiring both his looks and the astonishing power he displayed.
As the commotion settled, Dwight's popularity soared even higher.
The words about his power and mysterious background spread throughout the academy.
Students speculated about the origins of his power and the true extent of his strength.
No one could guess what power he used to defeat Arthur.
After the duel, Lilia, Cris, and Danica exchanged glances, surprised and in awe.
Lilia, still reeling from her earlier madness, regretted doubting Dwight's abilities.
'I made a loss.'
She had seen the effortless defeat of a strong opponent, and it left a lasting impression.
Cris, meanwhile, thought about the implications of Dwight's victory.
"Hahaha, I am rich!"
Accumulating credit points had been a struggle, but Dwight's swift win showed a quicker way.
The idea of fighting for credits now seemed appealing.
Amidst the excitement, Dwight returned to his dormitory, deep in thought.
The power he showed was not just a law, but his self-created Rule of invincibility.
The distinction between a law and a Rule was significant.
While many saints could understand a law, only a god could grasp a Rule.
His Rule of invincibility was unique to him.
Unlike other gods with their own distinct Rules, Dwight's Rule came from his essence and will.
It granted him unparalleled protection and made him invulnerable.
When Arthur tried to strike him, Dwight's Rule had activated, repelling his opponent effortlessly.
Dwight revealed his Rule to Arthur for a reason.
He understood the arrogance that came with reincarnations, their past lives giving them a sense of superiority.
By showing his invincibility, Dwight sent a clear message—that even as a reincarnation, Arthur had no right to disrupt their world's peace.
He knew, however, that if Arthur didn't understand the warning, he wouldn't hesitate to eliminate him.
Dwight didn't want anything to happen to this world because his family was here and he was just starting to enjoy life again.
