Such a convoy of fancy cars came looking for Naysa? Heavens! What did she do? Did she offend someone?
"Did she do something? You know since her mother's death, she has been weird. Please, forgive her if she offended you. Who are you?" Uncle Tarran asked after first apologizing for a mistake he didn't know.
"She didn't do anything. Am her fiance."
"What did you say?" His hands dropped from the machine as he opened his eyes wide. So she had such a rich handsome looking man as a fiance? And why did she keep all this a secret? Is she not just a mere common girl? Where did she meet this man? Questions kept Cris Crossing his mind as he searched for an answer. "My son... I don't like this kind of a joke."
Jemmy just looked at him calmly.
"Sir... Where is she? Can we see her?" Stenson spoke.
"No... She left with Marina." Uncle Tarran said.
Jemmy glared at the guards as if saying 'were it not for your carelessness.' Stenson took a step back, trying to avoid the murderous look. The guards opened the door for Jemmy and waited for him to enter. After a long time of exchanging looks, Jemmy quietly walked back into the car, taking heavy steps as he moved.
THE JOHNSON HOME.
Naysa and Marina walked into the c point.
ompound after alighting from the taxi. They walked slowly followed closely by Pearl. Naysa wasn't happy.
When they walked into the house, they were welcomed by Janet, the eldest son of Senior Johnson who looked at them and frowned.
"Why are you two here?" She asked.
"What if we are here?" Today, Marina wasn't in for an argument. She replied rudely.
"Marina I see you've grown wings right? This days actually you can answer me the way you like." Janet snorted. "I see you've brought this poor orphan here."
Not in a mood to talk, Naysa walked into Marina's bedroom. She sat there silently hugging a pillow. Pearl jumped into bed and rubbed it's body on her. Naysa remained calm, lost in thoughts.
So it was true? All this rich men are scam? But why me? Nature will never be fair on my side... Huh!
Marina walked in and sat close to her...
"Naysa you can't worry yourself to death ok? At least ti now you have nothing to loose." Marina said. " Let's get in the kitchen and prepare something to eat before Emma comes back. We'll have to deal with their dramas soon."
"Am not in for petty arguments Marina." Naysa sighed and said.
"I know... At least preparing our meal earlier will save us from their talks." Marina said.
The two stood up and left for the kitchen. At the Johnson's home, Marina had to prepare her meal on her own because both her sisters wouldn't invite her for a meal. Not after realizing that Marina wasn't Johnson's biological daughter. Anyway, for now she had nowhere to go, so she would swallow her pride and still be there.
"Naysa, do you love Jemmy?" Marina, who was busy with washing the vegetables asked. Naysa, who was cutting the onions stopped midway. Why was she angry after what Cindy told her? Was she really in love? Was she jealous or just angry?
" Marina, sincerely speaking I don't understand myself." Naysa said.
"You know sister, you can't just get jealous or angry on anything." Marina said.
"Probably am angry because of what Ridden said. I still don't know if am just a tool for some evil or..." She shrig her shoulders, curving her mouth slightly downwards.
"I know... But you haven't answered my question... Are you in love with Jemmy?" Marina stopped washing the vegetables and looked at her.
Naysa breathed hard while trying to determine her true feelings. She didn't understand herself now, especially after Marina's question. Though, she wouldn't determine whether she should love Ridden or Jemmy, at least she got closer to Jemmy in a short period of time compared to Ridden. Till now, she felt attached to him. Even though she wasn't sure if she loved him, she knew she felt bad after what Cindy said.
"Can you help me understand myself more Marina? I think am confused." Naysa said.
Marina laughed out loud. She didn't know what to tell her since she had personally never been in love. But she thought Naysa was somehow funny. She didn't understand herself. From her perspective, she thought Naysa loved Jemmy but just thought it too hard to say it out loud. She had been with her for a long time, but she knew she was never attached to Ridden as she was to Jemmy right now. She never liked talking about Ridden, but since she met Jemmy, she liked telling her more about him. Though she had never met Jemmy in person, she knew that must be a great man who makes Naysa talk about him repeatedly. She also knew Naysa had never accepted any gift from any man until she met Jemmy.
