Her loyal dog

Flowerless Nie felt a sharp pain on his face and he spat out blood. Shan Tian had just slapped him hard across the face.

"You promised to protect her with your life, what happened?", Shan Tian's voice was filled with anger.

"Haha... you said you didn't care about her yet you're so angry just because of a small bruise on her arm?", Flowerless Nie couldn't help but roll his eyes.

"Stop beating about the bush and answer my question immediately!", Shan Tian said, her voice full of impatience.

"Your main concern should be the third princess and not the girl you intend to sell. The third princess is of more importance than she is."

"You think I'm joking...", Shan Tian quickly pulled out a dagger and pointed it at Flowerless Nie's neck.

Fresh red blood slowly flowed from his neck but he didn't seem to feel any pain, he looked down at the knife and then smiled at Shan Tian.

Han Jin was half awake when she stepped out of the chamber however she caught sight of Shan Tian pointing a knife at Flowerless Nie.

Thinking she was dreaming, Han Jin lazily rubbed her eyes.

This time however, she saw blood flow from Flowerless Nie's neck.

Her eyes widened and she immediately rushed towards the two.

"Stop!", Han Jin screamed and pushed Shan Tian away using almost all her might and took the dagger from her.

Shan Tian was strong so she didn't fall but only wavered a bit.

"Why are you trying to kill him? You're so heartless. First you want to sell me and now you dare to kill your subordinates" Han Jin angrily pointed the knife at Shan Tian.

Flowerless Nie frowned and lightly pushed Han Jin away causing her to fall on her knees.

"Ouch...", Han Jin winced in pain and slowly tried to get up but Shan Tian had already rushed towards her.

"Are you okay?", Shan Tian's voice was filled with worry and her eyes were filled with gentleness.

Han Jin's eyes had already brimmed with tears, she lifted her watery eyes and glanced at Shan Tian.

At this moment, Shan Tian couldn't help but think that Han Jin looked a bit cute. She stretched out her hand to help the little girl up.

Han Jin dodged Shan Tian's hand and stood up on her own.

Her eyes, which were filled with confusion fell upon Flowerless Nie. Their eyes met because he had already been staring at her for so long.

Shan Tian lifted Han Jin's hanfu skirt and caught sight of a tiny scratch on her knee.

"Your knee is bruised, I'm going to prepare some herbs for you", said Shan Tian as she grabbed Han Jin's hand.

Shan Tian felt how cold the little hand in hers were.

Han Jin however pulled her hand out of her hand.

"Don't be stubborn...", Shan Tian frowned, she was clearly running out of patience.

Han Jin ignored the warning sign in her voice, she lifted her garment and looked down at the small bruise on her knee then looked at the wound on Flowerless Nie's neck.

"What about him?", Han Jin pointed at Flowerless Nie, "He's also bleeding. If you're not going to treat his wound then I'm not going with you either"

In the end, the two quietly followed Shan Tian into a room to have their wounds treated.

Shan Tian grinded a few leaves and first applied it on Han Jin.

Shan Tian knelt on one knee and lifted Han Jin's garment.

Han Jin's leg was so slim and because of her white colour, the bruise on her knee had become red.

"Wait...", Han Jin held Shan Tian's hand which was about to touch her knee.

"Are you scared of the pain? Here, eat this", Shan Tian took out something small and placed it in Han Jin's hand.

"What is it?", Han Jin curiously asked, her eyes fixed on the cute thing she held.

"It's a sweet, it will make you forget the pain when I apply the medicine", replied Shan Tian.

"Really?", Han Jin placed the so called sweet in her mouth.

The sweet immediately melted in her mouth, all she could taste was extreme sweetness.

She didn't even realize it when Shan Tian applied the medicine on her knee.

"Apply it yourself...", Shan Tian placed the medicine in Flowerless Nie's hand and walked out.

"Thanks...", Flowerless Nie smiled at her.

Han Jin turned to steal a few glances at Flowerless Nie.

"What is it you want to ask?", Flowerless Nie asked coldly.

"That woman... she's so wicked yet you're so loyal to her. Why don't we escape from her? Don't you want to be free?", Han Jin moved closer to him, her voice so low that only the two of them could hear.

Flowerless Nie frowned and finally glanced at her.

"Escape...haha... I've never thought of escaping from Queen. Why? I'm her loyal dog", said Flowerless Nie in a sincere tone.

Han Jin heard that name once more. This guy had mentioned it quite a number of times.

So this woman...was the one who had him promise to protect her with his life? But why? Didn't she plan on selling her?

Seeing the confusion in her eyes, Flowerless Nie guessed what she was thinking.

"Don't tell me you're so dumb to not have realized that Queen doesn't plan on selling you. That was merely an excuse", Flowerless Nie chuckled.

"What? She doesn't plan on selling me? Really? Then why is she keeping me hostage?", Han Jin did not actually trust his words but she was really confused now by this same words.

If the woman didn't plan to sell her then why was she keeping her hostage? Why did she capture her in the first place?

"I don't know the answer to that. Why don't you ask her... anyways I'm leaving", Flowerless Nie stood up and walked out.

"Wait!", Han Jin chased after him and held him back, "I...I don't know your name yet"

Han Jin's face turned red when Flowerless Nie looked down at her hand which held his.

"Little wildflower, you seem interested in me but...are you not scared that a dangerous person like me would harm you? After all... you saw how I mercilessly dealt with those people before", Flowerless Nie lifted his eyebrows, waiting to see her expression.

Han Jin was reminded of the scene where he had easily killed those people without battling an eyelid.

Han Jin pursed her lips and a slight frown appeared on her face.

Flowerless Nie smiled, as expected, she was scared of him.

He turned to leave but Han Jin held him back once more.

"Why does that matter? I'm now your friend so whatever you do doesn't matter.", said Han Jin in her small and soft voice.
