Commotion in the Town

When the sky had changed color on the western horizon with its twilight violet, Yu decided to get up and leave the shores of the artificial lake. He smiled to find two types of birds flying down, one flock straight to the surface of the lake, the other flock perched on the shore.

Was this like living in the past? Yu asked in his heart. The fertile surface of the Earth, the ubiquitous plants, and of course, flocks of birds of all kinds, as well as other animals.

Yu took a deep breath. Only in dreams, he thought again. And then turned around to leave the area.

How will my life be after entering the Black Hole? Yu looked up at the orange sunset sky, so beautiful that he didn't want to forget that beauty, while his footsteps carried him back to the main urban street that was within the scope of the giant wall.

Along the road, Yu saw the enthusiasm of the people who watched the advertisements on the billboards on every building on both sides of the road. The billboards are like big three-dimensional screens showing the Ark-03 which is planned to depart the next day, from a space station in the desert in China.

As Alina previously told Yu, the spacecraft will carry five thousand people consisting of 2500 men and 2500 women. They will be sent to Planet Gliese 667 Cc in the constellation Scorpio.

The show also reported that of all the planets within a radius of 50 light-years from Earth, Planet Gliese 667 Cc is the only one that almost resembles Earth even though its mass is 3.8 times the mass of Earth, and is almost fifty percent larger than Earth, which means it also has a gravity greater than Earth's gravity.

However, due to many aspects, one of which is because the planet is in the habitable zone and the possibility of the availability of liquid water there, that's why Planet Gliese 667 Cc is the choice of experts and scientists this time to be used as a target to build the next human colony.

The planet Gliese 667 Cc is known to be in a three-star system: Gliese 667 A, Gliese 667 B, and Gliese 667 C.

Yu just smiled in response to the impressions. From Alina, he learned that all passengers on the Ark-01 and 02 previously had lost contact with Earth. No one knows what their fate will be now.

In other words, the mission of the five thousand people who will depart for Planet Gliese 667 Cc is the same as the mission that will be undertaken by Yu himself in the next three days. A suicide mission.

Or… scientists and elites may know something about the passengers on the two previous aircraft but they keep it a secret from the public for one reason or another.

Who can tell? Yu asked in his heart. After all, so far there have been too many things that have been covered up by the world's elite to the masses.

The show also featured the captain of the Ark-03 and the main crew of the aircraft. They say how excited they are to set out the next day to build a human colony on their destination planet.

Yu laughed silently and then continued on his way. He found another crowd, and when he approached it, turned out that there had been a commotion involving many people. Whatever the trigger, Yu chose to keep his distance from the commotion, he walked away, sideways towards the shops.

"Yu, hey…!" someone shouted at the man.

Yu looked around looking for the figure who called out to him in the commotion that seemed to only get bigger.

"Hey…!"

Yu saw the figure who raised his hand and waved at him, Alexander, the mechanic of the Akimura facility.

"Hey, dude!" said Alexander with a little breath when he was beside Yu. "Where have you been?"

"What is going on?" Yu instead asked Alexander back, his gaze fixed on the crowd pushing each other.

Screams after screams were deafening, then water bottles were thrown flying by several people.

"There was a group of street thugs making a fuss," Alexander said. "And people are ganging upon them."

"Street thugs?" Yu frowned. This is so strange, he thought. "Isn't this city within the walls free of street thugs? How did they get in?"

"Who would know?" Alexander shrugged, he handed Yu a bottle of drink.

"No, thanks," said Yu.

Alexander chuckled and downed the drink in his hand. Well, the man never wanted to drink alcohol, he thought.

"I don't know," said Alexander, wiping his mouth with his shoulder. "They could have come in by bribing the gatekeepers—you know, even in this city, the cost of living here is high. For a piece or two of precious things, of course, those people would do anything."

"You're just speculating," Yu smirked.

"Never mind," said Alexander. "You want to return to the facility?"

"Yeah," Yu looked around as if the street had become blocked by the growing crowd of people. "You know a better way?"

"Of course!" said Alexander, he was ahead of Yu. "Come on!"

Alexander led Yu to sneak into the small alleys between one building and another. The narrow street that can only be passed by one person is an alternative for both to avoid the commotion that increasingly shows violence.

"Hey, Alex," Yu said as they tried to sneak from one aisle to another. "You remember your comrade who met me at the back of the facility?"

"Yeah," Alexander glanced back, "what's wrong with him?"

"I saw him making love with one of the female security."

Alexander chuckled hearing that. "When? Where?"

"Last night, on the stairs to the lower floor."

"Damn it!" Alexander chuckled again, shaking his head lightly. "They are desperate too!"

"Yeah, that's what I thought," said Yu. "I mean, isn't there a ban on that, considering it's not an entertainment building? Everything in the facility is something serious."

"Well, I know that," said Alexander. "But, what can you expect? They're just like millions of other people, of course, you're a different one."

"Fuck you!"

Alexander laughed louder. "No offense. I just want to say, for me as well as for them, I guess… if you're already in love, making love is an easy thing to do, anytime, anywhere."

"Damn it!" Yu smirked as he recalled Alexander making love to the bar girl in the toilet. "What's the difference between you and a cat?"

"Good grief…!" Alexander laughed even more hearing Yu's words just now. "How dare you compare me to a cat!"

They continued to walk fast in the narrow, winding alleys. Until one moment, Alexander stopped his steps suddenly which forced Yu to also stop his steps.

"What is it?" Yu asked.

"Who the fuck are you?!" Alexander asked the person in front of him.
