Vague words and sorrowful blue pools

Chapter 58| Vague words and sorrowful blue pools

"But I did remember having a slight migraine. Felt like my neck couldn't hold in place my head too__" she started and Tristan snapped his head towards her shocked she was even talking, was looking at him and obliging his request of telling him what she had felt before going unconscious.

"My head had felt heavy almost like it was going to fall."

"And?" Tristan probed expectantly.

She raised her brow to him suspiciously, "And what? That's when I had felt light and fallen unconscious."

"Is that all you felt and saw?" Tristan eagerly asked while Kimberly directed a curious gaze at Saif.

"Is something wrong? What is the problem? Why does he sound like something ominous had gone wrong? Did I cause any trouble?"

Saif glared at Tristan even as he shook his head, "Tristan is just trying to make sure you are saying the truth, but," he smiled at her, "You don't need to say whatever you don't feel like saying and for being safe? I'm here. You are safe with me okay?"

She nodded earnestly, holding his gaze captive.

"And suddenly somehow, I'm made the devil, just because I am trying to make sure whatever this was doesn't repeat itself, because this is not the first time this is happening!"

Kimberly's and Saif's eyes were quickly directed at his, amongst the final words of his rant and he sighed not believing he had given up that information because somehow he had been cornered by his emotions.

"What do you mean by this is not the first time this had happened huh?" Saif's eyes widened even more, practically bulging as he held Tristan's captive while Kimberly was flushed against the wall, her upper body propped against a window and her hands hugging her body.

Tristan rolled his eyes then looked away not believing he had put himself in the crises he now was in, by the slip of his tongue.

He should have just allowed them to think the worst about him. They were confused, at least Kimberly was so they had needed something to make meaning. He was always the bad guy, so they had chosen him as a consistent figure of always being an opposition. He should have let them. He closed his eyes, balling his fingers into a fist.

He should have stood tall and let them think whatever they deem fit. He never had a problem doing just that, then why did he feel the irresistible need to defend himself today?

He was supposed to be emotionless, like a stack of stones then why had that piece of information slipped through his fingers in such haste and for nothing?

"Tristan," Saif called out and he knew it was a warning. He was raving with unsuppressed anger. Saif had never been the most patient when it came to waiting for a person to come around before hearing the truth and he wasn't in the least shocked that he seemed out of control especially when he had an idea whatever piece of information he was withholding had something to do with Kimberly.

The wind cackled and Kimberly gasped audibly, swallowing hard. Tristan scoffed as Saif looked away guilty, almost ashamed that him losing control of his powers which he didn't have a problem doing when they were younger to cause a ruckus affected Kimberly who was already in a state of turmoil. What were they now? A couple.

"The day I had come to your room and had seen the maiden in your wing," Tristan started while Saif narrowed his eyes, probably asking him the same questions he had on his mind.

Why had he felt the need to start with that intro, was it to inform Kimberly that she was one among plenty? Was that supposed to be a warning, did he even care enough to bother himself with who Saif fucked? He shook his head who his brother inserted his genitals had never been his business and he had tried as much as possible to stay away from that sphere of his life since he clocked puberty. So why was he being concerned that he just might get it on with Kimberly? What does it matter with him, if they both did?

He looked at the both of them and suddenly felt like the air was stiff and hot in the room, he stood up hoping his position made him see clearly and think properly too because it was almost like he was falling way behind in doing just that.

But to be fair he didn't have any introductions to choose from, him mentioning that he was in Saif's court so that he could get him, Kimberly, as his chosen was not an applicable option. He had given up one information, he wasn't going to hand over another.

"She had woken up that night before I headed to your room," Tristan noticed him stiffen and knew he had understood. The humans were still under the spell at that time, but that seemed not to apply to Kimberly who was in a normal slumber with that being said, it was obvious she had woken up after a nightmare and had collapsed because of it.

"So?"

Kimberly stared at the both of them in abject confusion, not making sense of the vague words that Tristan had said that Saif had automatically understood.

"What are you both saying?" Saif stood up from the bed and she made to go after him but winced in pain. Her body hurt like she had a mob attack her the day before and beat her to a pulp.

"You know I should have an idea if something is going on, this is my life." She muttered falling back on the bed with a defeated sigh, raising her hand to avoid Saif's who rushed towards her to help.

Saif gave Tristan a pained expression, he was breaking and wanted to give Kimberly the information she desperately desired. Tristan vehemently shook his head when Kimberly turned to look at Saif, directing her sorrowful blue pools on him and even Tristan knew Saif was going to tell her what she wanted to know. He would too if she looked at him that way.
