Sexy And Sneaky

NOWEL

The thick clouds blotted out the skies and the full moon, a pale blue-white disk revealed the black branches that traced the inky sky and swayed below my feet as I stared at the silent, massive grounds of the entire northern wing of the castle through the enormous window of my room. The cold wind of the night rushed passed me in aggressive waves, communicating the forthcoming downpour from the heavens.

I moved away after shutting the window to sit in front of my dressing table and held onto my brush as my entire world depended on it for survival.

What am I going to do now?

What if he says no to marrying me? Then my life would be completely over!

Michael is my last chance to escape the doom that awaits me if I should marry any other.

I would be ruined and experience real hell if I ended up with the Prince of Babylon. The whole royal family over there is totally..."My Princess! Royal Consort Avana is at the door ready to see you, should I let her in?"

This should be good. "Yes, send her in!"

I dropped my hairbrush immediately and stood up to welcome her.

I bowed three times as she entered my room. She looked around for a minute as if unimpressed by the decor in my room. How else do they expect me to be, to meet up with their standards?

"Not bad. I expected worse." I swallowed nervously at her sugared insult. When she arrived at where I was standing, I had to look down to avoid her gaze. Not only am I intimidated by her but this is the first time we are alone in a room to either talk or argue; depending on why she is here in the first place.

She folded her arms across her chest as she stared back at me haughtily.

"What type of wedding do you prefer?"

I choked.

"What?"

She rolled her eyes at me before she walked away and sat at the edge of my bed. I immediately stood in front of her like a controlled puppy.

"What type of wedding do you want us to hold for you?" She asked again.

I gave her a confused look. I don't know a damn thing about weddings and wedding ceremonies. I never asked for or attended one in my entire life. So, I just stared at her like the big moron I've always been. "Uh...the-"

"Fine. I'll explain since you do not have a clue of what I'm saying." She rolled her eyes again, "If you want us to practice the ritual or indigenous one ordained by the eye god himself, you both are going to wait six months after to be crowned king and queen. You both would still be regarded as Crowned Prince and Princess."

Oh, that's interesting.

"You would also have to avoid...getting intimate throughout that period to be purified."

Very interesting.

"We also have the marriage of the royal court. You would be joined by the law and Crowned King and Queen that very day. You are also free to touch each other."

I nod in understanding.

"So, which one do you want?"

Speaking of wedding preparations and arrangement..."Has Michael agreed to...get married to me?"

I held my breath as I waited for the worst answer ever; No stupid! He does not want to get married to you! We have decided to have an arranged marriage with the Prince of Babylon! My whole body shook at the thought of having his family as my in-laws.

"There's only one way to find out,"

.

.

.

The doors to Illinois chamber opened, and I and Royal Consort Avana strode in.

Three gentlemen were seated comfortably...well, maybe not three. Because the third one has a frown and a look of disgust on his face.

"Ah. Here they are!" Illinois beamed at us as we moved to where they were. "Nowel, please have your seat."

I sat down but squirmed inside as my eyes met with Gorgeous. He is sitting down directly in front of me. I avoided his gaze as I played nervously with my fingers.

Illinois cleared his throat as RC Avana sat down beside him.

"Good news! Michael has agreed to get married to you."

Our eyes locked, I couldn't believe that he agreed to get married to me. That easily.

"Nowel," My attention went back to Illinois, "Do you agree to marry Michael?"

Like, other choices are that presentable too.

"Yes," I croaked.

"Then it is settled."

No, it's not.

"You both are going to get married on the seventh day from this day, and Michael has agreed to a court wedding."

He did. I tilted my head to the other side. Very suspicious and too good to be true. I looked at him and he gave me an uninteresting look.

"Preparations would be made as soon as possible."

Elys hissed, gaining all our attention.

"Elys? Do you have a problem with that?" Illinois asked calmly.

"I have a problem with everything. Ever since you all chose to accommodate an entity of darkness in your lives wholeheartedly. I hope you all won't regret it before it is too late-ah, yes! It is already too late. The demon would be crowned King in the next seven days." He sighed, and he rose to his feet to face me. For a moment my heart began to beat like crazy.

"Congratulations in advance, My Princess for ending up with a demon as a partner. Forgive me if I do not attend the joyous occasion because I still have some decency in me. May you have a blissful and happy married life." I shivered as he threw me a mocking smile.

He grabbed his venomous staff and left the room.

I stiffened. Wait a minute, the reasonable part of my brain was turned on like a slight tap on the head as I rethought all of this. Elys is a demon-obsessed bastard but he is right! I am about to be married to a demon. A demon, demon. And I have no idea what his intentions are.

I glanced back at Gorgeous, earning a frown from him. He even looks more attractive at night.

Oh my. I melted as I stared at those beautiful eyes of his. Not only have I agreed to get married to a demon, but I am also going to get married to a sexy and sneaky one.

Oh, God.
