First test

Noah woke up after sleeping against a wall.

His whole back hurt. 'I'm never sleeping against a wall again.'

He quietly stretched, and then ate a lot of jerky. He wanted to be in top condition to take the fitness or condition test.

After he was done eating he moved towards the gate. He already saw a few people standing in front of it.

Not much later the teacher arrived with 10 other people, what Noah presumed to be other teachers.

Jeffrey looked at the gate, there were only around 100 kids standing in front of it. He sighed.

"WAKE UP! I want everyone outside in 2 minutes!"

Everyone that was still sleeping shot awake. They quickly got up and ran towards the gate.

After 2 minutes everyone was outside.

"now that everyone is here I'll explain the first test."

Jeffrey pointed behind him. "You see those red flags sticking out of the ground?"

"you'll have to follow those until you reach the Checkpoint."

"There you will be briefed on the second part of the first test."

"start"

After the teacher said start almost all the kids immediately started to sprint.

Noah looked at all the kids running an moved after a few minutes. He ran at a pace of around 20 km/h.

The teachers looked at all the running kids for a few seconds before they all dispersed.

Jeffrey quickly ran towards the checkpoint and arrived in around 8 minutes. 'now the waiting starts.'

After 10 minutes of running Noah already saw some kids lagging behind. 'stupid, who even runs at full speed when they don't know how far the have to run.'

Noah just ran at a more normal speed, which he knew he could keep up for a few hours. He didn't want to tire himself out before he reached the goal.

After 26 minutes of running he could see some kids running back at a fast pace.

Noah started to run a bit faster. After 2 minutes he finally reached the goal. He saw some other kids standing before the teacher called Jeffrey.

"okay go back"

The kids standing before the teacher immediately started to sprint back from were they came from.

Noah moved up towards the teacher. "sir, what is the second part of the firts test?"

"you'll need to run back to the academy, but first give me you're badge."

Noah handed his badge over to teacher Jeffery.

The teacher then took a knife marked his badge. "here you go, now go back"

Noah also immediately set off and ran at normal speed towards the academy.

"oh yeah, I forgot to tell you but only the first 300 to arrive at the academy can take the second test."

'what the, wasn't it just if you fail one test that you couldn't enter the academy?!'

Noah wasn't actually that concerned right know, but what if he couldn't enter because of the writing test.

'damnit' Noah immediately used his top speed and ran back.

22 minutes later he arrived back at the academy. There he could see around a hunderd students waiting in front of the gate.

'I'm glad that I'm earlier than some of the others.'

After a while you could see a kid running only 2 meters in front of some other kids who were all running as if they're life dependent on it.

And so the last guy past the test.

But they still had to wait a few hours before every last student was standing back at the academy.

The last person to arrive was Jeffrey with a kid over his shoulder. He put the kid against a tree and waited for everyone to be silent again.

"well done everyone, you all made it."

The kids looked confused at each other. Weren't there only 300 students passing.

"uhm. Sir?" a random kid said

"yes, what is it?"

"A-aren't there only 300 people who successfully completed the test?"

"oh that, no that was a joke."

Most of the students looked at each other and all thought the same thing, 'well that wasn't funny.'

"now that the first test is complete on to the next one."

Everyone was now in the academy. There were 10 squares drawn on the ground.

"the second test is a 1 v 1., you'll all receive a wooden sword. "

"and I'll quickly explain the basic rules. First of all, you can't leave the square. Second you will be paired against someone of the same skill level. So rank 1 vs rank 1."

Jeffrey then looked towards the rank 3 girl. "and there is one exception the winner of the rank 2's will fight against the rank 3"

All the rank 2's now eyed the rank 3 girl.

Noah also looked at her, she was actually pretty tall. But she was also older than him so that was normal.

Noah was only around 1.40cm and the girl was around 1.80cm,(6'0) which was a staggering 40cm difference.

Noah didn't want to fight her, because her reach was way bigger than Noah's so she would have an advantage.

But if he did have to fight her, he would just give it his all.

There we're around six hundred rank 0 kids. They had to fight first. Noah wasn't really interested in those fights so he stretched a bit and then took a quick nap.
