Chapter 1, The Gift

Markus sitting on his bed, playing The knights End, one of his favorite dungeons RPG games.

In a tired tone 'How long have I been playing?' Looking at the clock which reads, 6:37am, 'Damn! I've been trying this level for 29 hours and still can't beat it.'

He gets up off his bed and heads down the hall to the kitchen where he tries to make a bowl of cereal and struggles to stay a wake before passing out on the floor and dropping the bowl, breaking it. He wakes up to alarm clock going off in the background and sluggishly gets up off the floor and walks into his roommates room. He turns of the alarm and walks towards his roommate josh,

'Dude wake up, don't you have final today for your software class or something?'

'Yea, but it don't start till 12:30 so I still got a few hours.' Josh replies mumbling .

'Dude it's already noon if you don't leave now your gonna miss the test.'

'Damnit!' Josh says as he jolts up and hurries to get dressed. 'Okay, I should be fine as long as I leave right now, I should make it in time right?!.'

'Okay well, good luck with your test and once your done bring back some food for dinner okay.'

'Yea, yea okay, wish me luck, my parents are gonna kill me if I don't pass. later, see you tonight' Josh says as he runs out the dorm.

'Well since he'll be out for the rest of the day and I all ready got my nap in, lets try to beat that level once more. 'Markus say as he walks pass the broken bowl back to his room. 'And I'll need to clean that up before Josh gets back.'

Once more playing, The Knights End: a game where the player can chose the knight class and head to a dungeon to defeat mobs and powerful bosses to become the savoir of the kingdom, and is said to be one of the hardest games to beat; Markus is stuck on the maze level right before fighting the final boss.

'I have explored this maze more times than I can count and there is no gate, door, passage way, or sign besides the entry door, to signify where the boss room is. Is this why no one has beaten the game without the cheat to teleport to the boss room itself?'

Running out of ideas before looking up how to forcefully teleport into the boss room, Markus goes to the online game forms to see if anyone has a clue about why the maze room is so hard to beat.

'Are you really telling me this game has been out for 7 years and had millions of player and no one knows anything.'

He scrolls for a few more minutes but right before giving up he find a weird unknown user giving a guide on how to get thought the maze, also stating how once completed, the user could be granted to use magic to fight the boss.

'This guy must be joking this is like a 100 step process no one gonna do that and also the game doesn't have magic. So why would someone just put this up?' Out of hope and options Markus try's the process 'might as well try since I don't really want to cheat to finish the game'

Markus starts to follow the guide that the unknown user had left, after doing a lot of random movement and commands, he reaches the last step.

'Okay, its has taken 2 hours to complete and if this doesn't work than well I wasted my time and will have to be another false winner to maze.' Markus finishes the guide and waits 'So, it seems that nothing has happened and I've wasted my afternoon.'

Bloop!

'What was that?' Markus looks at a notification at has popped upon his screen 'What this?'

[Howdy user, It seems that you have preformed the steps need to unlock the secret class <knight mage> Will you chose to use this class to fight the final boss? (Y/N)]

'Holy crap, the dude was right! Well I did just spend 2 hours to get it so, why not!'

[Congrats you have chosen the <knight mage> class, an now can fight the boss and after you defeat the him, you will get the chance to start over but play as a <knight mage> class in your next play through. If the user can beat the game with <knight mage> as their class, they will be offered to be a character in our new game.]

'I guess that would be cool, the next game in the series hasn't been released yet, so if there's a chance then sure.'

Markus's player is teleported to the boss room and concords the boss.

'Nice I've never seen anyone beat him first try and the moves for a knight mage are amazing.'

Bloop!

[congrats user you have beaten the boss, now would you like to relive the game again with your new class? (Y/N)]

'Sure'

[Ok, you will need to wait for the DLC for the knight mage class to install before playing, please wait till the download has finished.]

'Okay I'll wait till it has finished downloading and I'm feeling a bit tired, so I'll just take a nap and hopefully it should be done by the time I wake up.'

Unbeknownst to Markus, the game's update had finished downloading.

Markus rolling over on his controller on bed and selects yes.

Markus in a haze, wakes up in dimly lit room with a blue transparent screen in front of him saying.

[Hello user welcome to The Mage Knights End +. You have chosen to relive the game with your new class, but remember you only have one life, your life.]
