"So, what is it like at the border?" Alessandra asked.
They had moved on from sitting down to talk to walking around now that the men were back. Alessandra couldn't hold back her curiosity about the border.
"It is different from the life you have here, but still similar in a few ways. Everything here is big and sparkles while at home is more simple. We aren't savages like the rumours say. We carry on with our days like any other town. There is so much land to run around and explore. Plenty of land for you to never get bored," Annalise answered, now finding herself missing home. "There aren't many rules there. Not much judging."
She couldn't wait for dealing with the truce to be over to go back home to see her family. Annalise had sent letters to her parents, but it wasn't easy to get a response because of how far the letters had to go and the border guards would not want to pass the letters to her father.
