Ch 10 Body Swap

It had been three to four days since Noctis, and Elfman returned from their mission. Noone had heard anything from Gray or Erza, or even from Natsu or Lucy. They had gone to some mysterious cursed island called Galuna.

The guild was loud and boisterous as usual. Noctis was sitting at the bar counter eating some fried fish he had caught himself and asked Mira to cook.

Noctis: " Hey Mira, have you heard anything from Erza or the others?"

Mirajane: " No, as far as I know, they're still on Galuna Island."

Noctis: " They've been gone for a while. I thought Erza was just going to retrieve those three."

Mirajane: " Who knows what could've happened. It was an S-ranked mission after all."

Noctis: " I just hope they're alright."

Mirajane: " I'm sure they're fine. Erza's there after all."

At that moment, the front doors opened with Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Erza, and Happy standing in the doorway. The whole guild hall suddenly quieted down and everyone looked towards the entrance.

Natsu: " We made it back alive!"

Mirajane: " Welcome back."

Erza marched her way up to the bar counter.

Erza: " Where's the guild master. These four need punished with that."

Mirajane: " He's not here right now, I'm afraid."

Natsu: " Whew, he's not here. That means we don't have to go through that."

Gray: " Yeah, I don't know if I could've handled that."

Lucy: " What is that!"

Noctis: " So how'd it go Erza? Did you guys get the reward?"

Erza: " It went well, all things considered. And we could not accept the reward, as the mission wasn't officially accepted by an S-rank wizard."

Noctis: " Speaking of which, I've been meaning to ask. How does someone become an S-rank wizard?"

Erza: " In the Fairy Tail guild in order for one to become an S-rank wizard they must go through a trial and compete to obtain said rank. Only eight participants are chosen every year and the one that comes out on top is rewarded with the title of S-rank wizard."

Noctis: " So, that's how it works."

Erza: " Why the sudden interest in becoming an S-rank wizard, you've only just joined the guild?"

Noctis: " S-rank re-quest offer better rewards. But I'm not going to steal one like those idiots." He states gesturing towards Natsu, Gray, Lucy, and Happy.

Natsu: " Hey!"

Gray: " I'm not an idiot like him!" He points at Natsu."

Natsu: " You wanna repeat that Ice cube!"

Gray: " Yeah, I will yah idiot!"

The two literally begin butting heads.

Erza: " That's enough you two! Need I remind you that you both are already going to be punished!"

Natsu and Gray suddenly stop fighting and act buddy buddy with one another.

A few hours later and Makarov had yet to return. Natsu notices a strange re-quest on the board, it says anyone who can translate this writing will be rewarded 500,000 jewels.

Natsu: " Hey guys come check this out."

Erza: " I thought I told you, that you aren't to take on any missions until after your punishment."

Natsu: " But the reward is 500,000 jewels!"

Lucy: " Really? That's enough to pay my rent and then some!"

Natsu: " Hey, I recognize these letters."

Natsu reads the writing out loud, it just sounds like a bunch of gibberish. A bright flash envelopes Noctis, Erza, Lucy, Gray, Natsu, and a wizard named Loke.

Noctis(As Erza): " What happened? Why do I sound like Erza?"

Erza(As Noctis): " Why do you sound like me? And why do I sound like you?"

Lucy(As Gray): " Ahhhhh!!! Why am I in Gray's body!!!!?"

Gray(As Lucy): " Huh? I don't think this is normal."

Lucy(As Gray): " Of course this isn't normal!"

Loke(As Natsu): " I'm drooling fire!! What's going on!!?"

Erza(As Noctis): " I think I get what's going on."

Lucy(As Gray): " What is it!?"

Erza(As Noctis): " We all must have switched bodies."

Noctis(As Erza): " Yeah, but why did we switch bodies."

Erza(As Noctis): " I'm not sure."

Lucy(As Gray): " Then what are we supposed to do?!"

The front doors open and in walks Makarov, he makes his way over to the bar counter and sits on it.

Mirajane: " Master, we have a problem."

Makarov: " Hm, and what would that be?"

Mirajane: " Noctis is in Erza's body, Erza is in Noctis's body, Lucy is in Gray's body, Gray is in Lucy's body, Natsu is in Loke's body, and Loke is in Natsu's body."

Makarov: " Sounds like a changeling spell."

Erza(As Noctis): " Changeling spell?"

Makarov: " Yes, if it isn't reversed within 30 minutes of when it was cast, then it will be permanent."

Noctis, Erza, Lucy, Gray, Natsu, and Loke: " Whaaaat!!??"

Makarov: " The changeling spell also switches magic."

Lucy(As Gray): " Really?" Lucy attempts to use Gray's magic but starts drooling ice instead.

Natsu(As Loke): " I can't feel Loke's magic."

Loke(As Natsu): " I'm still drooling fire."

Noctis(As Erza): " So, I can use Erza's magic. That should be simple, it's not that much different from my powers."

Noctis(As Erza) focuses and switches Erza's armor to a bright pink one with a blue cape. This was Erza's Armadura Fairy armor.

Noctis(As Erza): " Uh, what's this? I was trying to re-quip into her Black Wing armor."

Erza(As Noctis): " That is my Armadura Fairy armor. It's my strongest armor."

Erza(As Noctis) focuses on Noctis's and summons the Trident of the Oracle.

Erza(As Noctis): " Hm, a trident? Interesting weapon choice."

Noctis(As Erza): " It belonged to my fiancé."

Erza(As Noctis): " Fiancé? You were engaged?"

Noctis(As Erza): " Yeah, I was." Noctis looks down at the ground, a grim expression on his face.

Erza(As Noctis): " ....."

They were nearly at their time limit when a wizard name Levi was able to reverse it right as the time was up. Afterwards, Noctis took the re-quest paper and ripped it up and then threw the pieces into a fire.

Noctis: " I'm glad we were able to get back to normal."

Erza walks up behind Noctis and places a hand on his shoulder.

Erza: " About what you said earlier. What happened to your fiancé."

Noctis: " I... don't want to talk about."

Erza: " I understand. We all have things we'd rather forget." She looks away sadly.

Noctis: " She died."

Erza: " I'm sorry."

Noctis: " I'm tired. I'm going to head back to my place at Fairy Hills. I'll talk to you later."

Noctis leaves the guild, leaving behind a solemn Erza.
