Prologue/Chapter 1

One snowy night, a child was born. Not just any child. A child that had the power to defeat great evil. A mother and father were sitting in a large house in the village of Malekamen.

"What should we name him?" the father asked. "I was thinking Owen." The mother shook her head.

"I already chose his name," the mother replied. "It is going to be—" A bell rang. It was the warning bell. The mother and father looked outside. Huge bulky figures were coming out of the darkness. The breathed plumes of flames and engulfed houses in fire. When they got closer, their spiky heads and huge wings were visible.

"The dragons," the father breathed. A roar split the sky. People started screaming. Normally dragons would live on the other side of the island continent of Parastalla. Dragons were the most dangerous creatures on the continent.

"Hide the child!" the mother said. They brought the child to the cellar. "Well come back for you," she promised.

"Goodbye," the father said, kissing the child on the forehead.

"We love you Aaron," the mother said, and they left, locking the door to the cellar.
