Trouble on The Road

As we rode in the carriage we passed many familiar shops but also a lot of unfamiliar places. I looked out from my side and I saw a large circular building with people flowing in and out of it. I turned to Maria and asked

"What is that round building over there"

"Oh that, that is the Darkwood library. In it you can find tons of books on the history of our nation and the history of the world. There is also a restricted section that no one has been able to access for over 200 years"

"Interesting" I thought

"We ought to go there someday when we have time. I am sure it would be nice to learn more about the nation and also history"

"We can go there tomorrow after we come home from training" Mia replied

"Alright"

The journey continued and we were approaching our destination when a loud crash from ahead of us jolted the carriage to a halt. I got out of the carriage to see what was going on and I saw a large group of men, presumably bandits, surrounding our carriage.

"Give us your money and your horses and we will think about sparing you" the fat man at the front said. Mia opened the door and turned to me

"Whats the commotion"

"Ah you didn't tell us you had women with you. If you hand them over then we will let you walk free" The man said again while licking his lips.

"Alright this is what's going to happen. You are going to leave this area in the next thirty seconds or I will personally gut you like a pig and string you up from the trees for the dogs to eat you, how does that sound" I said while cracking my neck.

"You must not want to live boy" The fat man said with a look of anger on his face

"Men, kill him and then take the women. We will have a party tonight and every one of you can take your turns"

"Huggin sneak behind them and block their exit. I don't want a single one of them trying to flee, I want them all to suffer" I whispered. I turned back to the carriage and looked into the door at the girls in the back seat.

"This is going to get messy so stay in here, and do not open the door until I come back"

"Let me help you" Mia said

"You can help as long as you show no mercy"

"Alright"

I helped Mia step out of the carriage and the fat man laughed.

"I see you are going to follow our orders after all. I can't wait to sink my teeth into that one"

"I warned you to leave but you decided to stay so I will show no mercy, even if you beg for your life on the ground you will be shown no mercy"

The sky darkened and clouds started to flood the skies. A heavy rain began to pour from the sky and lightning began to fall while the thunder boomed. I took my jacket off and summoned my shadow blade.

As it began to appear in my left hand lightning began to strike the ground around me and around the bandits. The bandits began to look at each other with dread spelt across their faces.

"Isn't this the guy who fought the Devil two days ago" one whispered to the other

"OH Shit we are fucked dude, I knew this was a bad idea-"

"Shut up maggots, it's just a storm they happen all the time" They looked back to me and I began to smirk.

"Are you ready to die?" I asked. Lightning striking next to me and dirt flying. I grabbed the bolt and let it strike all around me.

The fat man shook his head in disbelief and sweat trickled down his cheek

"You should have run when you had the chance" I laughed and then the battle began. Mia summoned her shadows and they began attacking the men around the back of our carriage. I rushed into the front and threw the bolt.

As it flew through the air lightning sparked and jolted out until it pierced through the chest of the first bandit leaving a hole the size of a laptop. The bandits stared on in disbelief with their eyes filling with dread.

"That's one," I said as I pulled the bolt from the corpse. Some of the bandits dropped their weapons and turned to the forest and ran. I began to approach the fat man.

"I am not scared of you" he whimpered.

"I still have the numbers men attack" nothing stirred behind him. He turned to see all of his men had disappeared without a trace.

Crunch

He turned back to me after hearing the branch break.

"All of your men will be dead by now so there's no one left to help you"

"Impossible my men where all B rank. You must be bluffing.

"AHHRG" a scream echoed through the forest as a body was thrown back towards us. He looked down and saw the remains of his vice captain torn and shredded. Only the legs and hips were still there, while his entire upper body had been torn off.

He turned back to me and dropped to his knees.

"Please spare me, I.. I will change, I will turn myself in so please let me live, I am sorry for what I did"

I laughed

"You can't change what you have done but you can still suffer. I won't kill you just yet but I have something to try on you"

"Anything please just let me live"

I raised my hand towards him and said

"Endless Void"

The space around him began to shake and distort.

"Wha- what is happening to me" he said clawing at his body

"To a place you will never be heard from again"

His limbs began to break and tear while being sucked into a distortion. His entire lower body was sucked into the portal and his body followed.

I turned around and began to walk back to the carriage. Huggin flew back to me and absorbed back into my body and I walked over to Mia who was breathing heavily.

"You alright over there, have any trouble with them"

"No, but I am a little tired from using so many shadows"

"Well you will be able to sleep when we get back into the carriage" I walked over to her and grabbed her by the waist while she put her arm over my shoulder.

"Now, let's get back to the road so we can train" I opened the carriage door and helped Mia in.

"Are you guys all right? I heard a lot of screaming and loud noises through the door" Sofia asked

"Don't worry we just had to get rid of a few wolves, nothing too serious but we can continue on to the training site" I started up the carriage again and our journey continued.

Maria grabbed my shoulder and whispered to me

"Wolves, really? That is your explanation"

"Yeah I don't want to scare Sofia and Ruby on our first outing now would I"

Maria shook her head and laughed while pointing out the window

"Then explain that" while pointing at the cut in half body.

"Just some complications on the road that's all"

"Yeah ok, I can help you to you know I am not weak and delicate"

"I know but I wouldn't want to trouble you with scum"

"That's sweet of you" she said, hugging me while smiling. And so our journey on the road continued and there were some dead bandits.

Life was going pretty smoothly and training was right around the corner. As the ride continued I fell asleep with Ruby holding onto my right arm and Maria holding onto my left.
