Trouble is brewing in the kingdom of Madea. Lady Molly is called to court. She is to be the mistress of King Lucas. Enraged and with child, Queen Gemma calls for Lady Molly's head.
Molly opens the door to her chambers, surprised at an unexpected knock at the door. A messenger walks in, a letter in hand. Molly walks over to him, wondering what the disturbance was for, perhaps an emergency.
"Apologies, Lady Molly. I was sent by the King on an important matter. He wished to address this as soon as he was able." He says handing her the letter
Molly, even more concerned, takes the letter, ripping open the fragile paper, careful not to rip what she needed. Slipping it out, she unfolds and reads what is inside. After a moment, she turns to the messenger, stunned.
"I have been commanded to leave court? Why?" Molly asks confused
"I cannot speak for the King, Lady Molly. The King has supplied you with a horse and carriage that shall return you safely home. I was to inform you that you must be gone by daybreak."
Molly dismisses him before getting to work, packing what she'd moved into the closet. It was not much, a handful of dresses, shoes and jewelry. Placing it all into her bag, she looks around the room that had been her other room for so long, not at all prepared to return home.
Keeping her head forward, she moves through the winding halls of the castle, not addressing anyone as she makes her exit out of the castle. Doing her best, she kept calm and emotionless.
Would he ever call for her again?
Only time would tell.
