Guy vs Lieutenant 2

Lane runs through the forest with dozens of townspeople following her.

"That elf was different, could it have been the Captain?" Lane thinks to herself.

Lane stops to figure out what direction to go in.

"Should I have stayed and helped? If Guy fails, there is no way we can get to Locktin before they catch us," she thinks.

Lane looks back in the direction of Guy, Thomas notices she looks worried.

"Is everything alright?" he asks.

Lane pauses for a second to think.

She finally responds, "what direction is Locktin?"

"This way," Thomas points.

Lane continues to lead the group away.

"No, I need to trust him, that's why I hired Guy in the first place," she determines.

Guy and Lieutenant 2 are sizing each other up, the ground around them is covered in gray dust left over from the dead thralls.

"You're only delaying the inevitable, once I kill you, we will hunt all of them down," says Lieutenant 2.

Guy smiles, "killing me won't be as easy as you think."

Guy and Lieutenant 2 begin to circle each other. Lieutenant 2 pulls out a sword.

"Come on, what are you waiting for?" Lieutenant 2 taunts.

Guy charges at him, and Lieutenant 2 takes a defensive stance. Once Guy is in striking range, Lieutenant 2 takes a step forward and quickly swings his sword at him.

Guy side steps Lieutenant 2's attack, and counters with his own swing. Lieutenant 2 is supervised by Guy's speed and blocks the attack just in time. Guy swings again, but Lieutenant 2 jumps back out of range.

The two stare each other down from a distance, waiting for another opening.

This time Lieutenant 2 rushes in at Guy. He jumps, spins and slices down at Guy. They begin a close combat sword match, both showing off their abilities.

Guy allows himself to be pushed back as he blocks, then he sees an opening and kicks Lieutenant 2 back.

Lieutenant 2 stumbles and before he can shake off the attack, Guy charges at him.

Lieutenant 2 begins to struggle, he underestimated Guy's abilities.

Finally, Lieutenant 2 jumps back to create distance, but Guy is able to nick Lieutenant 2's face as he breaks contact. Lieutenant 2 lands 15 yards away from Guy. He touches the cut on his cheek and then looks back at Guy.

"Where the hell did you come from!" he says under his breath.

Guy then notices Lieutenant 2 is tapping his fingers nervously on a single piece of paper on his belt.

"Is that a magic page?" asks Guy.

"You've seen one before, so you're the one who faced the hunter," Lieutenant 2 determines.

Guy pulls out the hunters torn page, "I took it from his ashes after I killed him. You elf's have a bad habit of underestimating humans."

Lieutenant 2 goes silent.

Guy smirks, "Oh yea, the hunter told me all about what you are. He also told me you sent him, Captain.

Lieutenant 2 laughs, "Please you thought I was the Captain, no, I'm the Lieutenant."

Guy sighs, "So another underling."

"You could say that, however, I am much stronger than any hunter," replies Lieutenant 2 as he puts his hand over his page.

Guy quickly charged in at Lieutenant 2.

"I can't let him activate that page!" He thinks.

Guy gets into striking range, but before he can attack Lieutenant 2 activates the page and summons a cluster of black tentacles. He forms the tentacles into a fist and punches Guy in the chest, sending him flying back.

Guy gets to his feet, Lieutenant 2 now has one hand controlling the black tentacles and the other hand holding his sword.

Above on a tree watching over the battle is Captain, Lieutenant 1 and Lieutenant 3. Guy and Lieutenant 2 haven't noticed them.

"Now we know who killed the hunter," Captain says.

Lieutenant 1 is in disbelief, "a single human?"

"He's forced Lieutenant into using a magic page," says Lieutenant 3.

Captain looks around the battle ground for any townspeople.

"The rest of the humans have fled go after them, make sure they don't have the key and then dispose of them," he says to Lieutenant 3.

"Yes sir," replies Lieutenant 3, he leaps of the tree and runs out of sight.

"Sir, what do you want to do?" Asks Lieutenant 1.

"Stand by for now, we have this under control. I'm interested in seeing how strong this human is. The more we know, the better prepared we will be in the future," Captain replies.

Lieutenant 2 launches a handful of tentacles at Guy, who quickly dives out of the way. Lieutenant 2 doesn't let up, the power the page allows him to use magic as he wants, and he takes advantage of it by unleashing consistent black tentacles at Guy.

Guy flips, dives and blocks the incoming tentacles. Finally he attempts to chop down one of the tentacles, but they are tougher than he thought, and his sword only cuts a quarter of the way through. The force of the uncut tentacle knocks Guy backwards.

Lieutenant 2 brings the tentacles back towards himself and then launches them all at Guy like a a wall of spikes. Guy lands on his feet and quickly side steps the attack and charges in at Lieutenant 2.

Guy slices at Lieutenant 2 who struggles to block with his sword. Guy sees an opening and goes for the kill, but Lieutenant 2 panics and fires a new tentacle out of the page directly at Guy's face.

Guy leaps back as the tentacle shoots at him like an arrow. It's fast and Guy is forced to use his sword not knowing if it will cut through. He lands on the ground and chops at the incoming tentacle. Guy's sword again does cut all the way through, and his sword is now lodged half-way into the tentacle, stopping it from stabbing him in the face.

Guy digs his heels in as the tentacle, only inches from his face, tries to stab him.

Lieutenant 2 smiles and fires the rest of the tentacles at him. Guy panics, he flexes his muscles and drives his legs into the ground. With all his might, he cuts the rest of the way through the tentacle. He quickly pivots, cutting down the incoming tentacles just in time.

Lieutenant 2 sneers and brings the damaged tentacles back into his magic page, and then brings them back out fully healed.

Guy looks down and sees that one of the tentacles cut him on the arm.

"I need to destroy that page." Guy mutter to himself.

Guy and Lieutenant 2 measure each other up.

"It's only a matter of time before you fall," he tells Guy.

"You're not as polite as the hunter," Guy snaps back.

Lieutenant 2 fires multiple tentacles at him, Guy holds his ground prepared to cut them down just like before. Lieutenant 2 expected that, he moves the tentacles mid-flight making them shoot in opposite directions and surrounding Guy.

Guy cuts one tentacle out of the air, but the others grab him, wrapping around his arms and legs.

"Gotcha!" shouts Lieutenant 2

Guy struggles to get out of the tentacles. Lieutenant 2 closes his hand into a fist and the tentacles begin to crush Guy.

"AAAAHHH!!!" Guy screams in pain.

"A normal human would have gone limp by now, but you don't seem to be very normal!" shouts Lieutenant 2 as he wraps an extra tentacle around Guy's neck.

Guy struggles to breathe, he knows one more squeeze from the tentacles will kill him. Desperate to survive, he plants one foot back and push against the tentacles around his arms. Guy reaches up and grabs the tentacles around his neck.

"I'm tired of not being immune to Magic!!" Guy shouts.

He lifts and pulls the tentacles with all his strength. Lieutenant 2 is pulled towards Guy and then into the air. Guy slams Lieutenant 2 into the ground. BOOM! The ground shakes around them, and the tentacles around Guy's body fade away.

On top of the tree, Lieutenant 1 is in shock.

"Sir, should I step in!?" he asks Captain.

Captain doesn't look worried, but instead looks intrigued.

"I don't think I've ever witnessed a human survive long enough to fight back. Their different then I was told," he thinks to himself.

Back to the fight, Lieutenant 2 is still alive. He stumbles to his feet and then coughs up some blood. Guy is bleeding from the tentacles, but seems okay.

"I thought you're stronger than the hunter!" Says Guy out of breath.

Lieutenant 2 raises his hand and summons dozens of tentacles, "I will rip you limb from limp!"

But then Lieutenant 2 stops, he sees Capatain on top of the tree behind Guy.

"Sir!" Lieutenant 2 drops his hand and the tentacles fade back into the page.

Guy turns around and looks up, standing above him, balanced on a tree branch, is the Captain staring at him.

"So thats the Captain," says Guy.
