The call

Austin and I found ourselves in a state of shock and confusion. We stood there, unable to believe what had just happened. Somehow, a mysterious note had ended up in our office, and we were left completely surprised, struggling to understand how this could occur without setting off any alarms. In that puzzling moment, we made a quick decision to lock up our office and head to the security room. Our determination to uncover the identity of this mysterious intruder propelled us forward.

We also wondered about the others in the bureau. Did they ignore the intruder because he pretended to be the person who fixes our locks? Or were they too busy to notice what was happening around them? It was a perplexing situation, and we felt a growing need to get to the bottom of this mystery, to understand how someone had infiltrated our office without anyone else noticing.

We couldn't help but wonder how this person had managed to be so bold, seemingly untroubled by the watchful gaze of security cameras. It was as though we had stumbled into a captivating puzzle, and our curiosity burned bright. Solving this riddle became our mission, and as we headed towards the security room, we felt a mix of apprehension and excitement, ready to confront the mystery that had unexpectedly come our way.

We were astounded to discover that the mysterious person had cleverly disguised themselves as a lock repair person. They concealed their face carefully, making sure the security cameras couldn't reveal who they were. It seemed like they were familiar with our place, which left us wondering if they were experienced in this type of covert activity. Their ability to blend in and avoid detection only deepened the mystery, making us question whether this was part of a well-practiced skill set.

We were truly surprised by how this person seemed to know about our conversations regarding them. This left us with a multitude of unanswered questions. We wondered what might have happened if we hadn't accidentally encountered them and kept digging into their secrets. However, I couldn't let my curiosity endanger my team and their families just to satisfy my own ego.

Fear of the unknown was not the solution; we needed to confront this situation at some point. It felt like the right time to face this enigmatic figure. The uncertainty was unsettling, but we couldn't let it control us. We needed to gather information, assess the risks, and take appropriate actions to protect everyone's safety while unraveling the mystery that had unexpectedly come our way.

The daring actions of this mysterious person left us with a multitude of questions, but our top priority was to ensure the safety of our team. Instead of provoking them further, we thought it best to handle the unusual situation with caution and composure.

We swiftly gathered the essential documents for our mission and hurried back to our camp. Our sudden rush raised eyebrows among those around us. They couldn't grasp why we were in such a hurry since we hadn't taken a moment to explain. With our files in hand, we sprinted directly into the basement, and our fellow team members followed, their curiosity piqued by the urgency of our actions. They couldn't fathom what had gone wrong because everything had seemed perfectly normal at the office.

Inside the basement, we began to lay out the situation and shared the surprising discovery of the disguised intruder who had managed to sneak a note into our office. The team's initial confusion and concern started to fade as they absorbed the unusual turn of events. We emphasized the need for caution and the importance of ensuring everyone's safety above all else. Our teammates, now aware of the situation, began to brainstorm ideas and contribute their insights, uniting in our mission to uncover the identity of this mysterious individual.

Though the unknown was unsettling, our teamwork and careful approach reassured us that we could confront the challenge. With our collective determination, we were ready to face this mysterious figure and protect our camp while delving deeper into the puzzle that had unexpectedly crossed our path.

In the basement, Austin and I acted as if we were on a mission to uncover hidden cameras or listening devices. We searched every nook and cranny, but we had no luck finding anything suspicious. Frustrated but still determined, we went through each floor and repeated our inspection, only to find the same empty results. Anxious and worried, we even rushed to the security department to check if any suspicious individuals had been spotted near our office.

Our sudden rush and urgency in the basement left our teammates in a state of confusion, surprise, and even a hint of irritation. It seemed as though we had momentarily lost our senses in our relentless pursuit of answers to a mystery that wasn't immediately clear. We needed to regain our composure and address the situation with a calmer, more rational approach.

Our teammates, realizing the need to bring us back to reality, looked at us with puzzled expressions, wondering what had come over us. The confusion and shock from our earlier actions slowly began to settle as we explained the peculiar situation we had encountered in our office. We all shared the responsibility of making sense of this unexpected turn of events and approaching it with level-headedness. With our team's collective effort and support, we were prepared to tackle the enigma before us, step by step, even if it meant taking a more methodical and less impulsive approach.

"What happened?" Taeri asked.

"Guys, what is going on?" Aman asked.

"Do you have any idea how crazy you guys look right now?" Kang Woo said.

"What is it? Did something happen?" Hyung asked.

We both looked at each other, took a deep breath, and sat there...Taeri went to get us water, we drank it and we finally composed ourselves...

"Guys, you won't believe what just happened..." he was panting.

"I will take it from here Austin, relax," I said.

Everyone's focus shifted from him to me.

"So, I woke up early today because I had to get the files from our office remember?"

"Yeah, just come to the point already," Kang Woo said.

"Let me tell at my own pace because it is a lot to digest," I said.

"I was about to leave when Austin wanted to join me, we headed to the headquarters together, and remember how the lock pad of our office door is out of order?"

Everyone nodded, except for Hyung, he was staring at me as if he were staring right into my soul. If looks could hurt, then these ones would definitely affect you. Averting his gaze...

"So when Austin and I reached our office, the lock pad was changed, they changed it"

"Wow, maybe that is the reason why they call you Sherlock...don't you think?" Woo Shik Hyung said very sarcastically.

"Really Tarun?" Aman looked at me asking it.

Taeri was still hopeful, while Kang Woo was looking out the window disengaged in the conversation.

"What if I said the repair person, covered his entire face making sure that the surveillance cameras didn't capture him. and went all the way into the bureau without any suspicion and left this note right on the door."

everyone was shocked, they looked at me as if they saw something that they shouldn't. I could see Kang Woo's jaw drop...

"Look here" I showed them the note.

"Ignoring me much, I am not a killer nor someone that intends harm to you or your colleagues, meet me...fearing the unknown is a waste of time because in the end you anyways got to face it...contact me"

"Do you remember how I was saying that after the next anonymous note I think we should meet him, well I should meet him, but how does he know how we are looking for him? Did he hear our conversations?"

"Is that why you were searching for cameras or any other devices in the house?" Woo Shik Hyung asked.

"mmhmm...we wanted to make sure that everyone is safe," Austin said.

"I don't think he literally meant what we spoke..." Taeri said and all eyes instantly looked at her.

"Care to explain?" Aman asked.

"Look, fearing the unknown is a waste of time because, in the end, we have to face it...it looks like any other quote that could be found on the internet" she explained but was cut by Kang Woo.

"So you think this meant nothing?"

"No, I did not say it in that sense, look this could simply mean don't look too deep for me, because eventually we will meet at some point...whoever this person is they said, they don't intend to harm any of us, they could have taken advantage of us when we went to Kang Woo Oppa's and Woo shik Oppa's house, but they didn't...maybe they are even clueless about this house shifting scenario...maybe this person wants to genuinely meet us and help us...but the question remains why do they want to help us?"

"So you are saying that this is just a pure coincidence?" I asked

"I think so" She replied.

"So what should we do guys?" I looked at everyone expecting an answer.

"I say we should meet them," Taeri says.

"I say we should dig deeper before going," Aman says.

"I agree with Taeri, because usually if it is the killer he wouldn't be this patient, he would have done some harm by now to get our attention," Kang Woo said.

"I am with Taeri on this as well," Austin said.

"Well, the majority is decided anyway...but I just don't want you to go alone, I will tag along" Hyung said.

"What about Jin? we don't know how dangerous it can be out there...what if something happens to you?"

"What about your mother then?" he asked and yes I had no answer...instead, I simply agreed to him coming with me.

The next morning, I called the anonymous note writer and he answered the phone immediately as if he was expecting my call.

"Well well well, if it isn't Tarun Sharma himself I would be pissed," he said.

"What do you want from us? who are you?" I asked.

"Look I already told you that I am not someone who intends to do any harm to you or your colleagues, I could have approached you openly but I think it is best for every one of us to meet privately."

"But why just us? out of all the possible bureau officers?"

"Because this case is linked to someone I know very personally and maybe I can help you find your culprit"

"What do you benefit from this?"

"That I can only tell you when you meet me"

"Should I come alone? or can I bring someone else?"

"It is up to you but I say the less the merrier"

"when and where to meet?"

"I will send you the details soon...You can track my phone if you want to make sure that I am on your side"

"mmhmm"

And then he cuts the call, ending our conversation.

The decision we had reached the day before had been made clear to everyone present – it was final. Woo Shik Hyung and I understood that we needed to meet this person. Though we weren't entirely certain about the best approach, I had a strong sense that the words spoken were sincere. We all waited anxiously for the message that would allow us to set up a meeting as soon as possible.

The following morning, I received a text message that provided the time and location for our meeting. Without wasting any time, I promptly forwarded this message to Woo Shik Hyung. We were both eager to meet this person in person. It was time to come together, discuss our plans, and ensure that we were all aligned and on the same page.

With this pivotal meeting on the horizon, our minds were filled with a blend of anticipation and determination. We knew that face-to-face discussions would be vital to clarify our intentions and work as a cohesive team. As we prepared to embark on this next step, our hopes were high that the meeting would bring us closer to achieving our shared goals.

is he really trying to help them? or is it a trap?
