Chapter 44- Achlys' Trial Part 1

"So you're the supreme mage who controls the dead? Prove to me that you are worthy." Azazel said with a faint smile as if he was plotting something. Achlys was flustered but he could not disobey a demon Lord. The undead is ruled by the demon lords and he is one of the undead so disrespecting one demon Lord means declaring war on the other demon Lord's.

"What does my Lord wish for me to do then?" He asked while still kneeling.

Upon hearing those words, Azazel smiled and casted an anti-magic barrier in the arena. All the audience except for the supreme mages, paladins and Kazuki were teleported outside. Azrael was also included with the ones that got teleported because he still has to deal with Alfred.

"I will let this young lad choose a trial for you" Azazel said as he pointed at Kazuki. He didn't say "master" because it could change the flow of his plans if he revealed that a kid is his master.

Kazuki smiled which gave everyone chills running down their spine. Evil intent was clearly displayed on his face as if he was another demon Lord.

"For the first stage, you must bow down to Griffin and lick his shoes" Kazuki said with a little mockery.

"You brat!" Achlys was furious but when he saw Azazel glare at him he was helpless. All he could do was follow Kazuki's demand.

He had no other choice but to kneel and lick Griffin's shoes. He never felt humiliated before so Kazuki's actions enraged him to the point where he wanted to kill him.

After doing so, he thought that Azazel would finally accept him but it seems he was wrong. When he stood up he saw an obstacle course made out of earth magic with some fire magic added.

"Pass this obstacle course and I will give you my respect" Azazel ordered.

Once again, Achlys didn't have any other choice but to follow.

He ran through the entire obstacle course but

as he was about to use null magic to block the fire balls, his spell was cancelled. He looked at the side and saw Kazuki with a smug look in his face. Now he was certain that it was him who deployed the anti-magic barrier but before he could say a word, Azazel said, "I almost forgot. You can't use magic here so I deployed an anti-magic barrier.

His face frowned when he heard that from Azazel.

On the other hand, Azazel noticed Kazuki deploy a magic barrier but he didn't interfere. He knew it was to give Achlys a more challenges because he has to use reflexes to pass the obstacles. Meanwhile, in his mind he was thinking, "Master is more of a demon than I am."
