Downfall of the old shaman fire salamander grieves

"He started to move! I wonder things went well, I'm a little concerned..." Boarfang sighed internally.

Boarfang was taken aback and stunned after seeing the fire salamander spit forth a green cloud of smoke from its mouth and trembled fiercely as if it had been badly injured.

As though struck by lightning, the fire salamander became motionless, akin to a bird with its wings clipped, it fell to the floor with a sprinkling of flames when it hit the ground.

At the same moment, the raging flames of bonfire started to waver, almost as if they were ready to extinguish themselves completely.

Boarfang has a distinct impression that something had gone awry. Since everything that was occurring seemed to be a bad foreboding. Meanwhile, the illumination from the flame, which had shrunk in size, was no longer strong enough at this point, his countenance was ultimately hidden by the darkness.

However, his set of eyes continued to dart warily as he rose to his feet and stepped back, unsure of what to do in these circumstances.

In the event that he was going to lose his composure and forcefully halt this immediately, he might have disrupted the old shaman's spell, which could have caused significant harm to the old shaman in the process, if he were to do so.

As a bystander with no knowledge of the ways of magic, Boarfang's actions would be to either wait until everything is finished and hope to the gods that they will be fortunate, or to intervene.

Yet, Boarfang was completely unaware that, once a fight of the souls has begun, it cannot be forcibly interrupted, even by outside forces.

Whatever happened to that person, whether they were roasted alive in flames, skinned alive, or captured, just the physical shell of their human body was harmed, not their soul.

Therefore, even if all of those horrible things happened at the same moment, the being's body would maintain a deadpan expression and would remain unaware of what was happening until the soul was restored into the body.

It goes without saying that, as an old monster, the old shaman couldn't possibly have done a stupid action, such as leaving his physical body unattended and allowing it to get harmed.

Multiple killing methods were set up around his cottage, and even his bonfire would react on its own if it sensed even the smallest hint of malicious intent in the presence of a particular person.

It's unthinkable for Boarfang to have had malicious intent right now since he would have perished an incalculable number of times because even the old shaman's pet fire salamander would have taken care of him in an instant.

Only a few seconds had passed before Boarfang became aware of a significant shift that had unfolded once again in the atmosphere.

He kept his eyes fixed on the little fire salamander as he became aware of the sound of sobbing.

The fire salamander's eyes were filled with a glint of flaming droplets of tears, which seemed unusual for a creature formed of fire, as he gazed in sadness at his own master.

As if it had run out of energy, its little body grew faint, and his fire didn't dance as vigorously as it had before, almost as if it were on the brink of being snuffed.

Even though the tiny salamander had been a lively and active fire spirit up until this point, it seems that he has made half a step inside death's door.

It wasn't long before a small sliver of greenish fire emerged in the middle of the bonfire, which grew larger and brighter as it started to devour the formerly dazzling orange flames. Even Boarfang, who is just a practitioner, that is following the warrior's path and does not possess the inherent affinity for magic, started to hear something.

Although there was no one else there to see, he could still feel something was amiss, as the orange embers of the flame, which looked like tiny spheres of that which has awareness, circled about the old shaman's head as if to say, "Why have you forsaken us?"

However, with time, it grew fuzzy and was ultimately wiped out from his vision.

Soon after, the ancient shaman opened his eyes to reveal a flash of green glow that flashed in his pupils for a split second before swiftly disappearing within them.

At the same time, as soon as the old shaman opened his eyes, the bonfire began to burn, as the orange glow was now replaced by a greenish color.

With tears in his eyes, the little fire salamander gazed at his former master as it took its final breath. Its fire dimmed, and as it was now gone forever in the world, as his fiery body vanished in the wind.

After a short time, the old shaman turned his gaze back to his old companion, murmuring softly with sorrow, "Goodbye, old friend..."

As per the current situation, the old shaman has thrown aside the elementals and his powers have been supplanted by an unholy force of power.

His once-talented constitution, which was capable of sensing the circulation of elements in the air, disappeared without a trace as the fire element, which he previously had, was progressively getting corrupted by the unholy power and transformed into a greenish fire as a result of the corruption.

Even though he had achieved this power, the old shaman did not show any signs of happiness on his face. As he looked about for where his pet fire salamander had been last seen, he had been depressed.

Shortly after, the old shaman's decrepit figure began to bloat and become densely packed with muscle as he experienced a rapid surge of height.

A new patch of skin emerged under his old woolen robe, exposing his once-aging and frail body, which had miraculously transformed into something much younger and more healthy.

He began to expand as if he had been rejuvenated and returned to his former glory. He glanced down at his hand and carefully examined it, clenching it hard in his hands every now and then as he went.

His formerly sloppy robe, which had previously concealed his frail body, has now been tailored to showcase his well-defined muscles.

Now that he had thoroughly examined himself, he drew a deep breath as the old shaman suddenly turned his gaze towards Boarfang as he began to approach him.
