(Unwritten) Rules of Jungle

"Crunch"

A very faint sound, so faint that it was quite easy to miss by normal people, but for Alex, it is like a roaring thunder. The depth of her subconscious, which never rested and always stayed vigilant, noted even the faintest change in the surrounding environment. Even the smallest flutter of a leaf, apparently normal call of bird, nothing escapes her and she could tell that there was a team of hunter right ahead, waiting.

The number one unwritten rule of jungle was to never attack another hunter, no matter what. Not because some weird sense of ethics but rather for a very simple reason, it's not worth the risk. Even if you were superior in number, gear, skill and had a hundred percent chance to kill the opponent, no one, absolutely no one could predict how a person would behave in the face of certain death. Even the most cowardly whimp, who normally took a 180 deg turn upon facing a simple cockroach at night(Although considering the size of current age cockroaches, it was probably the right idea) would turn into a desperate killing machine when facing certain death. Not to mention, in the jungle there were always someone or something watching you, even when you go to pee, you need to be careful (there were cases, where a person was killed while they were peeing; some especially nasty ones were where the attacker attacked the junk while it was gloriously spraying urea reached water on the forest greeneries). Therefore fighting with other hunters was mostly not preferred.

Alas, it was just a rule and therefore not much followed. The unwritten rule number 2 was don't trust your own father in the jungle. Around 90% deaths in jungle was human related, either one hunter team had killed another or animals killed both team while they were busy fighting. Therefore presence of another hunter team was definitely not a good option.

Unless, instead of getting robbed or killed or both, you could do the robbing, in that case it was the best news you could have. Of course in case you decided to rob, didn't forgot to kill, the best way to make sure someone kept everything secret, was to kill them. Therefore rule number one of Alex Devil "Best fight is no fight, but if you have to fight, fight to kill", of course since she was quite the pacifist, she always tried to avoid fight, I mean if a slice of loot, some flirting, maybe some sex, could buy peace then why cause trouble.

Alex changed her demeanour, the ruthless killer immediately changed to a sorrowed lonely hunter. Carefully she walked toward the spot she figured the hunters should be and soon notice the team of five. The muscular and big guy with a machete, the lean one with a map, two others, one of those two was a medic and another was a sniper. Beside the big guy, there is a featureless one. She figured that guy would be the leader. Imaging a steamy sixsome with these guys, in her mind, she walked towards them. As she came closure to them, she pretended to notice them and immediately gave a brilliant smile as if she had seen her saviour.

"Are you the rescue team, thank god for coming so early, the bodies would start rotting if I have to wait any longer."

A look of surprise flashed on the face of the featureless one, but just like that it was also disappeared. After giving a glace to his team mates, he said "There probably some mistake, we are not in any rescue mission."

"Oh come on" Alex exclaimed, she looked toward the sky and yelled.

"Really, Really, just send the rescue team will ya."

"Shut up, what you are doing?" The other guy(the sniper, insignificant one, Alex already named him as Nameless).

"Sorry, I am exhausted. It's just too much."

"What happened?" The leader asked, of course he needed to be sure that there won't be any future trouble if they decided to rob, enjoy and kill this female in front of her.

"A party wipe what else" Alex said, mixing 70 percent sorrow, 20 percent anger and 10 percent exhaustion in her voice.

"A Unicorn Alpha showed up in the deer herd, and our client decided it would be a glory to shoot that alpha and have its horn in his manor. Only it turned out to be lord class." She let the matter settle in and then continued.

"One moment we are thinking of letting the herd pass and suddenly 'Bam' the client decided to shoot. I mean if you have to shoot then at-least shoot the females, but no, he have to shoot the Alpha."

"How far was the site?" this time it was the lean guy. Alex figured he should be the scout.

"Five clicks, near the Devils Bowl, when the shit broke loose I somehow managed to survive. I have gathered what left of their bodies and called for rescue. I have to get them at town. I owe them that much"

Unwritten rule number three of jungle, if you found bodies, try to return at least a part of it to the officials. For a family, death of a member was painful, but what hurt more was no news of the member. Therefore every hunter tried to return bodies of the fellow hunters (Even if the cause of death is that same hunter, after all when you return a body, the body won't be telling that the returner was actually the killer). The featureless and expressionless one (Alex already named him Stoneface) nodded and said "Screw rescue and forget about returning a whole body, just collect some Ids and go back, there is no telling when the rescue would actually arrived this deep."

"The client is a Princess; his body have to be returned. Otherwise I would have long gone, the rescue should arrive atmost by tonight."

"You're wounded." The medic finally spoke (Alex almost considered him as a mute) "come and get it treated."

Alex walked towards them, she dropped 'little Dragon' from her shoulder and walked towards the medic. She sat in front of him opened her bag and took out a shiny antler.

"The dumbo was an excellent lousy shot; he managed to hit the antler and broke it, although if he didn't then probably we were still alive."

Alex turned toward Stoneface and continued,

"In case you guys don't have a deadline, how bout help me guard the bodies, you can have this horn."

The medic took out an auto-inject and moved his hand toward her.

Suddenly, Alex moved, from her turned position she directly moved her body and used the momentum to stab the horn into the medic's jugular. Fresh blood sprayed from the wound and directly splashed on her face. Releasing the horn, she put her right hand on the ground and by pivoting on it she directly landed a back kick on the crotch of the spotter who was standing next with her left foot. Meanwhile she put her left hand on the ground and then vaulted toward the nameless.

She immediately closed their distance, grabbed her hand gun and placed the barrel right bellow his chin.

"Bam", nameless's head burst like a melon, blood and brain matter splashed everywhere.

Two Down, three to go.

Meanwhile Stoneface and big one had started to react, the scout was still foaming from his mouth. She just moved behind Nameless and while using him as a shield to block Stoneface's throwing knife, she shot Stoneface at the head. A beautiful red flower bloomed right at the middle of Stoneface's forehead, another shot and big one loose his automatic. She moved the barrel and fired almost all round to Stoneface. She didn't bother to check the result, at this close range the shock would be enough to incapacitate him, if not kill him completely.

She stood up, the big one was holding his machete, she pointed the gun and

"Click", oops no bullet.

She threw away her gun and took out her knife.

As she took a defensive stance, the big one raised his machete and then

"Bam"

Alex used her left hand to fire from her other side arm.

Big one stumbled, so Alex just fired another two rounds in his head. She turned and fire another two round each on the head of the scout and medic. After confirming all of them were dead, she picked her guns and climbed the nearest big tree. After assuring that there was no snake, insect, animal in the tree, she sat on a thick brunch and waited.
