Harvests And New System Function

I didn't see the whole night pass, engrossed in my research, not even registering the passing of time. This night was full of surprises. First, I tried enchantments, and my initial attempts were horrendous. However, I quickly gained insights into it, and I specialized this night toward durability enchantments. My train of thought was that if our tools and golems were more durable, I would not have to recreate them so soon.

[Novice Enchanter 0/100 -> 64/100]

Then, for the enchantments that I created,

[Enchantment of Durability]

[Uncommon]

[Enhances the durability of the recipient of the enchantment]

Well, the description didn't specify how much the durability increased, but I am fairly sure that these enchantments will be useful. I applied these enchantments to hoes and scythes that I'll be giving to golems or farmers to use on the fields.

Not only did I try the enchantments, but I also created more mining golems. I needed more stones because, first, I wanted to construct a wall to protect the center of our city. The only problem was that the farms would be outside the wall.

[Advanced Golemancer 165/5000-> 214/5000]

[Advanced Jeweler 160/2000 ->209/2000]

The construction of all of these golems took a heavy toll on our crystal stock, but having more mining golems means a faster replenishment rate for our stock.

The golems swiftly made their way toward all the mines and quarries. In the dead of the night, some golems brought back the first [Air Crystal] mined from the new mine.

"Well, it seems that my first mining golems found their way to the encampment's mine," I noted, looking at the crystal with puzzled eyes. I tried to sense what was wrong with the crystal, as the system specified that there was some kind of energy that was reducing the purity of the crystal. After some minutes of analysis, I found nothing of the sort.

[There are no more impurities in the crystal]

[The energy of the crystal is slowly getting recharged]

"But why?" I pondered as I continued to examine the crystal, puzzled by such an occurrence.

"Perhaps it was the spirit that was sapping the energy from the crystals?" I questioned myself, continuing to scan it. However, seeing no need to persist, I placed the crystal back on the slab before I started to experiment on it. I tried the same methods that I used on the [Earth Crystal].

Yet, the same observation I made back then resurfaced. The air energy was far more volatile and dangerous than its earth counterpart.

So, I experimented with various constructs to house these crystals. However, it became apparent that, unlike the [Earth Crystal], the [Air Crystal] couldn't rest inside a stone golem. I soon discovered that metal proved to be a far better container for these crystals. Unfortunately, our city currently lacks the means to create metal.

'No lightning-powered golem for now,' I mused, deciding to leave my workshop. 'It must have rained,' I murmured, observing the wet ground and grass. The sun was already rising, casting its light across the entire city.

I noticed that a majority of the group was already awake and had started to rebuild the bonfire to prepare breakfast.

"Well, good morning, everyone!" I shouted to the group as I approached them.

A myriad of greetings came my way, and I responded to each one. Then, something caught my eye—an ingredient that I hadn't seen since my arrival in this world. There, in front of me, was a bucket full of milk and some eggs.

I sat on a bench, at the edge of the talking group, where I listened to their conversation while eating my morning soup and a cup of milk. I never was a talker, I was more of a listener, listening to their conversation about their life back on Ashan serving in the armies of different nobles.

Having finished my meal, I stood up before asking some questions for the group

"Do you have any kind of request ?" I asked the group, hearing my question, they looked at each other before some of them stood up, signaling that they had a question

"My Lord, could I request the creation of some kind of canteen where we could cook and eat without being disturbed by the weather?" asked a sentinel named Aldor. "I could provide you with plans for it, as I was a carpenter before being enlisted in the army of the Duke of the Unicorn," he added.

"Well, yes, of course. Provide me with a sketch of the building, and I will order the golems to construct it," I replied, accepting Aldor's suggestion. I then turned my attention to the rest of the group.

"Any other questions?" I asked, as Aldor left with a tool to carve the wood. Since we had no paper, he would be drawing on wood. One of the Sisters stepped forward after my question.

"Yes, my Lord, would it be possible for us Sisters to have a dedicated house for Elrath's teaching and healing the sick?" she asked, joining her hands in a prayer position.

"Consider it done!" I responded quickly. "Where do you want the house to be?" I inquired.

"Near the Barracks will be optimal, my Lord," she replied, her eyes fixed on the distant Barracks. Nodding in agreement, I ordered the golems to construct two houses near the barracks. While she had only asked for one, the second one would serve as a library for the time being.

Observing the golems head towards their new construction site with the materials, I turned back to the group. Since none of them had any more questions, I began giving instructions.

"For today, we are going to plant the seeds that were stored in the cellar in the fields. After that, I will provide some of you with staves that have a gem capable of accelerating the growth of the seeds. Following this, we will proceed with the harvest."

I faced the group and explained, "Note that these staves only have five uses of the spell. When they are depleted, bring them back to my workshop, and I will create new ones. Is everyone clear?" I scanned the faces of my group for any signs of confusion or questions.

Seeing that all of them were devoid of questions, I turned back toward my workshop to prepare the artifacts.

Arriving in the workshop, I promptly created five staves using the cave's stone. Taking hold of an [Earth Crystal] that remained in my workshop, I cut it into five gemstones of the same size. Then, I grabbed the Arcana Carver to carve the five gems with the Regeneration spell.

After finishing the Gems of Virtue, I wiped the sweat from my forehead before taking one of them and inserting it into the staff's tip. The green hue of the Gem of Virtue illuminated the entire workshop as I examined the finished product.

[Advanced Jeweler 209/2000 ->214/2000]

[Staff of Regeneration]

[Uncommon]

[A stone staff that can use Regeneration]

[Uses: 5/5]

Seeing the staff, I smiled wryly. "Well, it seems that I am still just a novice, but Rome didn't build itself in a day."

Then I quickly inserted the rest of the gems, creating the staves, I then called the golems, each one of them taking a staff before returning outside of my workshop. I sighed before opening my talent tree as I saw yesterday that I had still two unused talent points.

'Do I still continue with Magic or should I start with Might ?' I pondered as I looked at the Magic section, but as I scrolled toward the Might section, two skills quickly got my attention

[Diplomat] and [Enlightenment], the first one in game allow you to negotiate with hostile creature and the second one grants more XP, but in real life, [Diplomat] is a passive that just allow to smooth my words and the second one is just giving me more mana regeneration.

'This sucks, these were talents that I would have loved to have if they retained their in game's effect' I thought sadly as I continued to scroll the might talents, I saw talents that will be great for an empire or kingdom, but nothing that'll help a little territory like mine so I decided to spent my two skill points in Light Magic.

For the skills I choose [Air Magic I] and [Celestial Armor], the first one is like all the mastery of magic, increasing my knowledge and my capacity to wield the magics of this Lore.

The second one is a spell that buffs the troops, creating a shield that absorbs all damage jusqu'a a certain threshold, then the shield will burst but the buff will remain. This is one of the strongest defensive spells in the game.

Sensing all the knowledge about the Air Magic entering my head, I sprinted outside of my workshop. As I sensed the fresh air outside, I was surprised; it was as if my senses were part of the wind. I could pick up the noise of a bird flapping its wings high up in the sky.

"This is incredible, but which of these improvements is not?" I murmured as I sensed the group in a field outside of the city.

I promptly arrived only to see my golems with the staves in their hands, waiting for me. "Is everything prepared?" I asked the group as I arrived in front of the field.

"Yes, my Lord," replied George, his armor gleaming with a blinding light. "We planted the seeds in accordance with what Gilbert told us about agriculture."

"Good," I acquiesced as I ordered a golem to present a staff to one of the sisters. "I presume that you are the most adept with magic."

"Well, our order uses Elrath's blessing to heal and fight," she replied without acquiescing.

I looked at her before sighing. "I take that for a yes. Then place yourself in front of the field and use your mana to stimulate the crystal on top of the staff," I counseled the woman.

The woman closed her eyes just as she gripped the staff harder, I sensed her mana moving inside of her body into the tip of the staff, then a blinding green light started to be emitted from it.

"Tap the staff into the ground and picture in your head the field for better targeting!" I exclaimed to the sister, and without a second of hesitation, she did what I asked of her.

"By Elrath," I heard the murmur from one of the newly summoned crossbowmen as he saw the crops that started to grow instantly after she tapped the staff on the ground.

In less than 10 seconds, the entire field transformed as the crops sprouted and flourished before our eyes, a testament to the power of the enchanted staff. I couldn't help but smile seeing this, this meant no more food shortage for us and we could easily feed far more people, we just needed more fields and a bit of magic.

As soon as the light disappeared, I started to clap, and soon the whole group joined in, the young woman turning to us, her face red like a tomato.

"This was perfect, Jeanne," I congratulated the sister as I looked at the now verdant field.

"Well, everyone, let's start the harvest," exclaimed George as the group sprang into action, their scythes in hand. I ordered the golems to assist them in collecting the harvest, then headed back toward my workshop. However, as I neared my cave, I was interrupted by a voice.

"My Lord!" came running Aldor, smiling, with a piece of wood in his hands. "I have the plans for the canteen!"

As the sentinel without his usual armor presented his work to me, I received a system notification.

[Congratulations! One of your subjects created a blueprint for a building.]

[Rewards: The City Tab has been unlocked.]

Ignoring the system's notification for now, I looked at the plan.

[Canteen]

[Basic]

[2 units of wood and 4 units of stone]

[10 workers for 10 hours]

"This will be useful, Aldor. Thank you," I said, taking the wooden plank with me as I ordered the golems to gather the resources and start building the canteen near where the bonfire was placed.

"The canteen will be built in 10 hours. You've done a good job, Aldor. When the city is totally built, I'll give you a reward," I told the young man, who had stars in his eyes, as I entered my workshop.

"No, it is me who must thank you, my Lord. Back in Ashan, they said that a peasant would never be a royal architect. But with you as my Lord, I see my dream becoming reality," Aldor said with a beaming smile full of happiness.

"Then continue to draw plans for the city, Aldor. You will become my First Architect," I said to the young man with a smile as I opened the door to my workshop. As I entered the dimly lit cave, I opened the [City Tab], and the same menu as in the game appeared in front of me to build my city.

In the tab, I saw some buildings that were still not constructed in my city. First and foremost, the time for each building of the first tier; it seemed that I needed 2 days to create one of them. I already had the [Barrack], [Marketplace], and [Priory], but I still lacked the [Loophole Tower] to form Crossbowmen, the [Hall of Heroes] that recruited Heroes in the game (though I didn't know how this would work in reality), and the [Basic Fortification] that created a basic wall to protect the city.

I noticed that I could upgrade the [Barrack] into a [Garrison], which would help me upgrade the sentinels into Praetorian. The price was 20 units of wood and 25 units of ore.

'A good price,' I thought as I looked at the [City Tab] for my resources. Finally, this tab told me how many resources I had.

[No Name City]

[Barrack, Priory, Marketplace]

[Wood: 41]

[Ore: 32]

[Gold: 4700]

[Other Resources: 5]

'This panel only keeps track of Might And Magic buildings; the houses and everything else are not counted,' I thought as I clicked on the button to create the [Garrison].

Suddenly, all of my golems that were not doing anything started to go toward the warehouse to take the resources to upgrade the [Barrack].

'The replenishment rate of the resources is fast,' I noted, surprised at how quickly I gained resources.

'The golems that I sent back to retrieve what we left inside the [Air Crystal Mine] will be back in the afternoon. Then I will start to create even more golems to help with menial tasks,' I noted down before slumping onto the slab to sleep, as I hadn't slept tonight.
