Chapter 13: The cranberries

After the end of the shooting, Connor decided to take a little vacation and give his family a little surprise. His and Dolores' birthday was on September 6th.

Today is September 27th, and Connor didn't celebrate his birthday like he has always done; he only had time to call Dolores and promised her that he would come back after the shooting.

So just after the shooting ended, before the media and paparazzi were ready, he had already left the United States. After all, although he had a successful movie, the news around Connor was not much apart from his sense of mystery. He would not drink or have scandals like other stars.

Today, the 17-year-old Dolores was rehearsing, thinking of the band that they now call The Cranberries. She knows that with the help of her brother, she will definitely have many opportunities she needs. The problem is how to seize those opportunities. Since Connor promised her that he will play a song with her band on his album, she has always been practicing.

Connor, who planned to surprise his family, didn't find his sister. So after chatting with them, he asked, "Where's Dolores?"

His mother replied, "It's all your fault. Since you left the house in order to chase your dream and we didn't stop you, your sister also wanted to follow in your footsteps. It almost gave me a heart attack when she said that she wanted to pursue her rock dream."

Connor smiled wryly. After all, he was the one encouraging her dream. If mother knew, he didn't dare to continue thinking about it and asked, "So why do you say this? You didn't say where she is, and I don't think it is wrong for her. Anyway, I will always be there for her."

His mother said, "So that is why I am blaming you. You are the one spoiling her. But nevertheless, she is probably in the abandoned house where you used to play, probably rehearsing. Don't think I don't know you are the one encouraging her. She told me what you have promised, and she has been working really hard all this time."

Seeing his mother speak about this calmly, Connor couldn't help but sigh. After all, he was exposed.

After coming to Dolores, he smiled seeing her work hard and was very happy. At least she didn't become complacent because of him.

After she finished, he said, "Hello, rockstar."

Hearing this familiar voice, Dolores became happy immediately and gave Connor a big hug. She said, "You didn't inform me you are coming. How long have you been here?"

Connor replied, "I wanted to surprise you, but you weren't here. I just came here. So how have you been?"

Dolores explained, "A little busy thanks to someone who skipped our birthday."

Connor smiled and said, "Okay, don't talk about this. Let's go home."

During the same time in the United States, the media finally remarked that the filming of the new movie from Connor is finished. The news immediately made the headline, and at the same time, it's said that Connor returned to Ireland after the filming, and fans were a little disappointed because they were expecting him to release a song.

One month has passed since Connor returned home.

Today, he is meeting the band of Dolores as he is preparing to return to the United States to hire a broker and prepare for his Album.

The Cranberries have remarked that since last month, Dolores became a little strange. She worked harder than usual and even forced them a little. She said she has won a precious opportunity for them and said that her brother will promise them a chance to appear on his new album. She didn't say who her brother is but just said he is a popular celebrity. Normally, the Cranberries would meet every weekend, but today Dolores called them and said that her brother is returning to the United States so he wanted to meet them before returning.

When the Hogan brothers and Fergal, the lawyer, came, they saw Dolores who was facing them and playing guitar and a man facing her and seem teaching her what to do.

Seeing them coming, Dolores stopped and smiled at them. The man then turned around. The moment the man turned, they immediately recognized him as Connor, the recently popular star recognized as an Irish star.

Connor smiled and nodded to them. Dolores then introduced him to them. After the introduction, Fergal said, "Oh my god, I didn't expect that your brother that you are always talking about is him. It's surprising."

Dolores replied, "What do you mean?"

Fergal quickly replied, "No, I didn't mean anything. I'm just really surprised. After all, he is recognized as the leading star of the new generation here." Seeing a teasing smile from Dolores, he knew he was tricked.

Connor was happy seeing that their relationship was good. He said, "Okay, don't bother about this. In fact, recently I have been preparing for my new album and planned to invite your band for a feature for two songs."

Seeing Connor was planning already for his new album, they were immediately surprised. After all, there is no news about this. At the same time, they were a little skeptical if Connor knows how to play rock. After all, his first song "No Time To Die" was rather a calm song that is demanding in vocals and rhythm control, completely different from what a band needs where everyone needs to be in synchrony.

Connor saw them hesitating. After all, if these songs didn't succeed, his fans will blame them, not him, and the public opinion that will blame him will also blame them.

He picked up the guitar and said to Dolores, "Let's play The Beatles' 'Blackbird'."
