Saving People

Lorne flew through the maze with little trouble. He decided to find more of his fellow students. Flying in and out of the maze he quickly found other students. There was something new, however. There were now Fiends in black armor with superior skills and fighting power. They were attacking all of the students.

Lorne understood the situation, the Fiends underestimated his group and sent Fiends that even the weakest disciple could fight. Now, these Black armored Fiends appeared and their power was too much for even the instructors!

Lorne collected a couple of the armored Fiends and sent them to BS42 to analyze and turn into Warboxes. He quickly saved several students, but he soon discovered some students had already fallen to the Fiends.

It was shocking for Lorne to discover the bodies of Aerun Mounkeh and Prince Karratun. These two accompanied Malkus to the sect and he still retained fond memories of them. Over the years he saw the pair occasionally. Lorne was busy increasing his power and didn't pay too much attention to them. He wasn't trying to be anti-social he just didn't know how to relate to the people who were friends with Malkus.

He switched bodies a long time ago to allow Malkus's brother, Paneneko, to bury his brother and mourne. His new body was a variant hybrid of his original body with the dragon body and the much stronger warrior of his new world. He fused the three bodies together increasing his base physical powers to incredible heights. He also retained the use of his spiritual powers, knowledge and created a new Zimwarn Warrior body. He was probably one of the strongest people in both his old sect and the new sect.

It was his opinion he was probably stronger than even Master Compassion. After all of the work on his current body, Lorne was feeling far more like he used to when he was the Invincible Hero on Earth. Even though these black armored Fiends were much stronger than the Fiends he first encountered, they didn't seem much stronger to him. Strength is relative, he reflected himself.

Until he found the bodies of his former friends, Lorne wasn't in that much of a hurry. He didn't think the Fiends were that challenging. He had become too powerful. When he first came to this world, his strength was around that of a strong mortal warrior. He was weaker than others and it took him a long time to reach his current strength.

In some ways, he mistakenly judged his fellow students to be much stronger than they were. He knew he was much stronger than them, but he thought they could still take care of themselves. He misjudged the situation and now two friends were dead.

He was extremely upset, fury radiated out of his eyes. He was actually more upset with himself than the Fiends. His relaxed pace probably prevented him from saving his friends. Lorne calmed himself and brought the bodies of Aerun and Prince Karratun into his Samsara Pod. BS42 stored the bodies until they could give them a proper burial.

It was clear that he couldn't go at a slow pace any longer. Lorne wouldn't hold back anymore, it was time to quickly save everyone. If he had to bring every student into his Samsara Pod in order to save them, he would.

Pushing his speed to its greatest limited, he went back to the students he previously saved and placed them in his Samsara Pod. If an outsider were watching this it would look like the people suddenly disappeared. Lorne was moving so fast he turned invisible.

General Maek and Commander Ahm Lett were watching all of this from the control center.

"Commander, what do you think Lieutenant Sh'take's chances are against this cultivator?" asked General Maek.

"Truthfully, sir, I don't think his chances are very good," admitted Commander Ahm Let.

"What are your chances against him?" asked General Maek.

"Not a problem," Commander Ahm Let said with great confidence.

"Call off Sh'take and take care of this annoying bug," General Maek commanded.

Lieutenant Sh'take was having problems. He nearly reached Lorne's position but was then given new coordinates. Soo after nearly arriving at the new location, he would be updated with newer coordinates. Pretty soon, The dispatch person couldn't update him fast enough. Lieutenant Sh'take was left standing around with nothing to do. He was confused, was his target a teleporting specialist or something? Finally, Lieutenant Sh'take received new orders to hang back until back up arrived. He was to wait at his current location until someone from the Headquarters could come and support him.

How frustrating! Everyone else was given an opportunity to engage, everyone but him. However, as he was waiting, he was given an update on what was going on. The reason they couldn't track his opponent was that his foe was too fast. After hearing about his opponent's speed. He realized he wouldn't be able to keep up with his opponent even if he moved at his fastest speed. From the reports, he understood didn't have the best chance of succeeding against his opponent.

Knowing all of this, Lieutenant Sh'take was glad he has pulled away from this opponent. Eventually, Lieutenant Sh'take felt a slight breeze behind him. Turning around he discovered Commander Ahm Lett arrived.

Bowing to the commander, Lieutenant Sh'take made a low bow to his commander. There were very few people Sh'take respected. The one he respected most was Commander Ahm Lett.

"Sh'take, I see they had you chasing your tail out here. How are you?" The commander asked gruffly.

"Commander, it's fine, I understand. Can you tell me what's going on?" asked Lieutenant Sh'take.

"We've got a speedy little bug rescuing everyone. He's one of three or four trouble makers we're having to pay special attention to. He might be the strongest, I don't know," responded Commander Ahm Lett.

"Three or Four, sir?" asked Lieutenant Sh'take.

"Yeah, there's something going on we're having trouble tracking. Our men keep disappearing in a really mysterious way. It doesn't matter, Cannon Fodder is Cannon Fodder, right?" responded the Commander.

"That's right, sir, we could lose the whole lot of them and just dig some more up. It's no big deal," laughed Lieutenant Sh'take.

"Good man, come with me and we'll deal with this little problem. The man likes his friends so much, I bet if we start slaughtering them he'll show up quick and we won't have to chase all over the place for him," said Commander Ahm Lett.

"Yes, sir!"

Back in the Command Center, General Maek was watching the closing moments of the battle between Tower, B'riri, and his other two Lieutenants. He watched as Lieutenant Poh Tae Toh and C'rup were quickly finished once those bracelets came off Tower and B'riri's wrists.

The power increase, once the bracelets came off, was shocking. It's no wonder his Lieutenants lost to their power.

"Amazonian training bracelets, is that woman an Amazon? What about that man? I've never heard of formal male disciples for the Amazons. Mostly they marry outsiders and raise the girls as Amazons and the male children are sent to a sect. They certainly don't use their training bracelets on the boys. Strange, this kid is interesting.

He'll make an even more interesting Fiend. Hahaha. I guess if I want to capture this kid I'll need to step in personally. This will also give me a good chance to see what other toys he's created," the Commander thought all of this and without so much as a word, he disappeared from the spot. No one knew where he went to, but it was better to not be too curious.

Tower, B'riri and their Metal man and Metal woman were standing over the bodies of their opponents. These two new Fiends were tough. They were so strong they had to take off their training bracelets and activate the Metalman and Metal Woman puppets and armor.

This battle was the first field test of Tower's newest creations. Over the years he moved beyond just forging and stepped into a world of mystical technology. Utilizing his knowledge of forging, formations, and other supplementary skills, Tower became a new kind of inventor.

Lorne's stories of battle from Earth inspired him to create things no one had ever seen before in this world. He had a lot more of his new inventions, but with the death of these two foes, it seemed he wouldn't have a chance to try them out.

B'riri knew her husband was a genius but she never imagined the extent of his genius. He was a one in ten thousand genius, if not more. Having such a mighty husband and one so wise in the mysterious arts of forging not only brought honor to her but to the Amazons as well.

Tower was, after all, the grandson of the Queen of the Amazons.

"Not bad," a voice said from behind Tower and B'riri.

The two swung around and saw General Maek standing before them, relaxed and imposing. There was a faint smile on his face.

"I knew you were special from the first time I saw you. You'll make a terrific Fiend, we'll both do well. I'll be your backer and protector and you'll be my golden goose. Hahahaha"

For some reason, neither Tower nor B'riri was able to summon the courage to immediately reply to this Fiend. They were both scared, an emotion neither was familiar with.

The reason for this fear, they felt the strength of this Fiend was beyond their comprehension. They didn't believe for a moment they stood a chance.

"Fear is an important tool of Fiends, I'm satisfied you have already become familiar with it.

These toys of yours are impressive, I wonder if you have any more? Why don't you bring them out to admire your work. As I crush and destroy all of your weapons the fear will increase and you'll soon come to recognize the wisdom of becoming my loyal Fiends. I'll even let you keep the little Amazon girl as a pet, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Long time no chapter, I know. I've been working on an animated commercial that's taking up all of my time.

I was able to fit in a chapter today and hope to finish The Invincible Hero Book 2 in the next month.

I've really enjoyed the book and feel it's been getting even more interesting for me to write.
