CHAPTER FOUR - CALEB'S POV
That morning, he was working at the office with Jacob, the future beta of his pack, and his best friend. Due to the fact that they all began working for Blake Multimedia and Corporation, a private, limited company, after finishing their undergraduate degrees, Skylar and Theo are also present in the office with them. They are all the same age. They will turn 25 this year; they are still single and readily available to any interested woman, with the exception of Jacob, of course. Unlike him, Sky, and Theo, Jacob is not a womanizer. He is much more of a family man and fiercely guards her two sisters.
He leaves his job and goes to eat lunch with the other boys at the restaurant when Victoria calls to inform him of the party at Damien's house. Jacob was not interested and opted to return to BlueWood when he told Sky, Theo, and Jacob about the party. If they encounter one of his sisters, Hailey, there, he asks them to keep an eye on her. In contrast to Eden, who studies 24 hours a day, he is well aware of Hailey's penchant for partying every chance she gets.
To be completely honest, most of the pack members are unaware of Eden, Jacob's sister. She finished high school at their local high school at the age of 14 and had been residing outside the Blue Wood ever since. There was no fresh image of Eden hanging on the walls when he arrived at Jacob's family home. They only have one family photo, which is of Eden when she was four or five years old. Additionally, there is a photo of Eden and Hailey with the barn in the background. She is wearing a ponytail and black overalls in the photo. Eden appears to be quite young in that photograph, whereas she appears to be slightly older in the other, which is nicely framed and hung around the walls in the living area.
Every time Caleb went to the home of Jacob's family, the picture on the top of the piano caught his attention. It was an image of Eden enjoying her third birthday. She looks like a princess with her big blue eyes, her long, curly brown hair, and her white dresses. She had a small crown on her head, and she appeared frail due to her small stature. She has a sweet smile and porcelain doll looks that will charm anyone. Only in this photograph can one see Caleb's face next to both his and Jacob's parents. He kept the same image in his bedroom as well. He loves the image so much and is eager to see Eden once more.
After a relaxing bath, he makes a call to Sky and Theo before getting dressed and heading to Damien's, where he will meet them. He entered Damien's home after arriving, walking like a divine being. He can see the women's seductive smiles as they all have their attention on him. They look like the hotshots for all the ladies tonight, seeing Sky and Theo there. They don't need to do much to win the ladies' favor. They can entice all the ladies to submit to them tonight as they stroll with their lethal looks, naughty winks, and smiles.
Before they dance and blend into the crowd, Hailey and Damien personally welcome them. When Caleb entered the house, he searched for Victoria but could not find her anywhere. He cannot locate Victoria precisely because she is not his mate, and he cannot sense her scent. Despite the fact that they do not share a mating bond, they managed to fall in love while Victoria was still in high school and are still together today. Victoria finally arrived in her sexy, short dress after a nearly twenty-minute wait. He notices someone's scent on her, but he doesn't pay attention to it because they will eventually live apart from one another and with their partners.
They've all grown up in a county where werewolves and humans coexist peacefully, so drinking and mixing with human boys and girls is commonplace for them. After some time, Victoria invites him upstairs so they can spend some private time together. They had just met at the packhouse three days prior. He actually enjoys Victoria's company. They would spend the entire day in his room doing something that most young couples do these days each time she came to the packhouse.
Victoria and Caleb enter the second room on the right, start kissing, and then undress one another. He adores every part of Victoria's body. Her figure is ideal for him, and her seductive lips never fail to send him into a trance. Victoria smelled like sweet vanilla and morning jasmine. Although it is not a scent from his mates, somehow he loves it. When things get difficult for him, her scent can provide the serenity he needs. The majority of the young men in their pack are already mated, and some of them have pups. Only four of them are still single at the age of 25 and are awaiting the arrival of their partners.
And now, at the age of 25, he has had countless affairs with women ever since turning 18 years old. Victoria is the first girl he kisses. He can still clearly recall that day. When he and Victoria first began to develop feelings for one another four years ago, Victoria asked him to meet her in the lab at her school. He was almost 20 years old at the time, and Victoria was 18 years old. It's the first and last time he has ever smelled her exotic scent, which is what he first noticed about her.
The scent of black vanilla, warm musk, and earthy carrot seeds gives the wearer of this unique fragrance a sense of depth and exoticism. He doesn't see anyone else there besides the two of them because Victoria had him blindfolded at the time. He claims to hear other voices there. They have someone with them at that time. There's a chance that Victoria's three best friends, Alice, Rowena, and Mila, are here to see their private moment. As a result, he instantly complies with Victoria's request to kiss her. He wanted to submit to her because of how seductive her scent was at the time. It smells like his mate's. Every time he heard the word "mates," he used to feel engrossed. However, now that it has been years and he is still single, he feels worn out and despises the word even more.
But the taste of her kisses at that time makes him lustful, and he keeps on invading her lips without even giving her a moment to breathe. He only makes her breathe for a brief moment before capturing her lips back onto him again. The little groans that came from her shivering body in front of him added to his sense of rationality. At that time, he almost allows the wolf to come out of him and claim her as his mate. He touches every part of her body, and he swears to God that if she makes another sound, he will pull her ruthlessly to one of the lab tables. When Victoria's voice abruptly began pleading with him to stop, he came close to going insane.
While thinking back on the moment they shared four years ago, he keeps pushing inside Victoria. He continues to exert himself vigorously until he once again detects the exotic scent. The color of his eye returned to forest green. He remembered smelling that when he kissed Victoria for the first time four years ago. He was on the verge of losing control of his lust when the scent hit him. He snarls at the strange sensation that has just begun to overtake him. Ash, his wolf, implores him to continue moving forward until they both do inside Victoria. However, he halts his work and stands up before his wolf can fulfill its desire.
When he gets out of bed and moves toward the bedroom door, Ash, his wolf, growls louder. Because he was still naked, he only peered out the tiny keyhole in the door, hoping to see someone standing outside. He is able to catch a glimpse of the person running away from that location. Victoria stops him just as he is about to open the door with his exposed body.
"What are you doing?" She questioned, her voice filled with shock, "Are you crazy going out n*ked like that?" Before searching the room for his shirts and pants, he first looked in the mirror. He must find that person right away. The scent is almost gone, but Victoria keeps asking him to finish himself first before leaving because he still has his hard-on.
Because Ash keeps nagging him about Victoria's request, he declines it. Before the scent vanishes once more like before, he needs to quickly identify its owner. He quickly gets dressed, runs downstairs, opens the door, and scans the floor in an attempt to smell the scent once more, but to no avail. When he unlocks Damien's front door, the scent starts to fade. He is able to smell the air in the front yard. Ash, his wolf, can also smell her, but it's a weak scent that disappears when the midnight breeze blows.
"Mates!" Ash finally expressed his annoyance when they were unable to find her. He starts cursing because it took him so long to get out of the damn bedroom. He will never again be able to identify the scent's owner! Victoria approaches him from behind, giving him a hug and speaking softly to him as she tries to seduce him.
"What's going on, baby? Is there anything bothering you?" He doesn't say anything and instead just stares at Victoria. He leaves Victoria at Damien's house after a heated argument, then drives himself back home. Victoria becomes upset when she notices his response.
"We lost her again because of you, so you should take responsibility." Caleb begins by blaming Ash, his wolf. He lost his mates as a result of his wolf lust.
"I'm sorry; all right. It's not like I know she will be there." At his wolf response, Caleb scoffs. Oh yeah, he's not to blame. If not for the fact that he always takes over Caleb's body and screws Victoria whenever they encounter one another, they will probably meet their partners tonight and can finally find peace after waiting for her for so long.
"However, you should be grateful that she exists rather than that b**ch, Victoria!"
"Look who's speaking now! You wouldn't ever get laid with any girls in the first place if it weren't for her. She is still my girlfriend, even though she is not our mate. So please be careful what you say when you discuss her in front of me." Caleb, who is displeased with his wolf, says this angrily. He was still upset that they had lost their mate tonight.
"Oh, come on, Caleb, I know she's somewhere around the city," he said. "I swear, I'll save my snort just for her. You simply cannot pin the entire blame on me, though. Both of us betrayed our mate! Remember that you were the one who initially attached yourself to Victoria?" Caleb remains silent. What Ash is saying is accurate. Once he gets tired of waiting for their mate, he accepts Victoria as his girlfriend without even considering Ash's feelings at the time.
They are constantly debating over their shared mate bond and how they will confront their mates after banging every girl while they wait for her. Caleb was not interested in discussing their unidentified mate at that time. He doesn't even care that she exists, which is why he wants to keep Victoria as his steady girlfriend. Victoria is also a member of his pack. One of the fighters is her father. While his mother is still opposed to it, Caleb's father is in some way acknowledging their bond. Victoria is still treated with respect when she visits them in the packhouse.
"We'll track her down," Caleb conveys his confidence in his speech. This time, he will search every nook and cranny of the city for her. He won't stop till he sees her in person. He'll also ask Jacob, his next beta, for assistance. Who knows? Jacob's sisters may be aware of his mate. There may be a possibility that his mate is a CU student if she attends Damien's party. He can also go to the campus area to look for her if Dean Rasmussen gives him permission to do so.
But first, he needs to speak with his father about this issue before he can do anything else. This time, he will tell him all he plans to do to find his mates. He won't blow another opportunity like this. He will locate her this time!
