Arena

I stared at him from the arena.

The whole class was waiting for him to finish me in the next minute so they can have their go.

But I wasn't going to let that happen.

I was going to beat him no matter what.

Since this was a magic and physical fighting, we could use both.

But I didn't care.

I was going to defeat him with my own hands.

"You ready KID" shouted Max, a smug on his face.

"Yes I am" I replied quietly.

"Go" bellowed Mr Herron.

Max started of with magic.

He said some complicated words and threw magic fire balls at me.

I flew across the arena, a burning sensation in my stomach.

"Oh great" I thought.

But before I could do anything to him, he kicked me hard in the leg.

I fell to the floor.

Max kneed me to floor and started punching me.

But I wasn't going to give up.

I hit him once and got back up.

I used a trick we were taught a few weeks ago.

It may not be the most powerful spell, but it was one of the only magic I could do.

I conjured up a ball of gas.

Just when I was about to throw it at him, a sudden burst if energy roared inside.

Within seconds, the ball of gas has become half the size of the room. I heard gasps from my classmates through all the fizzing.

Even my teacher was surprised.

In the opposite side of the arena, Max looked terrified.

I think I heard him say" Wait, please!"

But I didn't think twice.

No more pity.

I threw the ball of whatever it was at Max.

It hit Max on the chest.

He flew across the room breaking through the arena ball hitting the back wall which had a dent in it.

I watched in horrow as he fell back to the floor, face down, unconscious...

The room was silent.

Everyone stared at me, eyes wide.

I looked at Max lying their on the floor.

I looked at Mr Herron for comfort but all I saw was anger in his eyes.

What did I do...
