To Kill or Not To Kill

The interesting thing to note was that Meng Tian's total kill count for tonight alone was nineteen cultivators. However, he did not show even the slightest hesitation before or remorse after killing these people. Even he did not know why he could not feel these natural states of mind.

Nonetheless, Meng Tian had always been one to follow his heart. You can call it fate or destiny, which had led him to this place, into this situation... But, he sure as hell would not stop just here.

Just as the new skill was created and added to his status, his mind felt indescribable calmness. His eyes turned completely cold and a blood red aura surrounded his body.

In that instant, he casually ordered all the remaining people under his control to commit suicide. They were unable to reject his commands and were about to kill themselves in the next moment.

However, Meng Tian's Soul instantly trembled with a golden-white light and the aura surrounding his body was dissipated. He immediately called back his command, which stopped all these people from committing suicide.

Outside the base, on a tree, Meng Tian was still sitting calmly. However, if observed closely, tiny drops of cold sweat covered his forehead as he thought back to his commands.

"Aura of Slaughter... This is something that cannot... and should not be used casually. This time my Soul was able to stop me from committing mass murder of normal humans. Why was there such a reaction though?"

Meng Tian remembered the first time he got the Slaughter Experience about fifteen to twenty minutes back. The formless blood red shadow that appeared in his consciousness space with its cold & brutal eyes had resisted the information imprinting process. However, it was subdued by his Soul and swallowed.

What happened this time was quite similar to that. "This Skill... Can I control it?"

"Killing cultivators does not mean much to me, but normal people can still be brought back to the good side of society. I can even use my Eye of Charm to do that. Even though it is not voluntary and did not conform to societal norms and ethics, I don't mind doing it."

"However, there are people who deserve such a treatment for their sins, especially people belonging to organizations like the Green Devil Cult. "There are other options too... I can wipe their memories associated to me, but they might still be accessible to the more powerful cultivators of this cult. Making them my slaves is not something I am interested in. Killing them is still the best option. Sigh... The more the people, the more the variables..."

This time he did not hesitate and ordered all the people present to kill themselves. However, the order was slightly different, they all had to fight among themselves and kill each other.

Meng Tian ignored everything after he gave out his commands and walked into the room where the five-year old Lin Baozhai was kept. He saw that the little girl was already tired and was completely asleep. He immediately lifted her up into her arms and walked out of the base.

While coming out, the three clones completely wrecked the base making it unusable. The little girl woke up due to this and started crying. But Meng Tian immediately hit her head a little knocking her out.

In less than a minute, the entire base was completely deserted and all of its residents killed. Meng Tian who was still disguised as Young Master Diao, took the little girl from his clone and placed the clone bodies into his consciousness space.

During this entire time, his breath concealment, Transmogrification, Spiritual Sense Discretization were all active. Meng Tian used his fastest speed and flew away from the base. He fled much faster than when he had arrived.

He had already obtained the information regarding the location of the little girl's home and was on his way there. He took a few turns on his way going around in random circles to make sure that no one had followed him. His masked spiritual sense kept track of everything around a hundred kilometer radius.

It may sound overkill, but Meng Tian was never a person to take it easy when he wished to do something. It's just that he had meagre interest in the daily routines of life. So, he had always been quite lazy. However, it does mean he would be laid back in a situation that could endanger his loved ones.

It was about 10 PM in the night and Lan Aixue was sitting inside her dark bedroom sobbing uncontrollably. This dignified looking beautiful young lady looked to be in her late twenties... She was still wearing her office clothes and was holding a picture frame that had the photo of her hugging a cute little girl.

Lin Baozhai' s mother was a generic office worker but she already had a lot of money probably from her parents. She was living in the neighborhood of Meng Tian's house with her daughter, and the father was not in the picture, literally and figuratively. She came back from her office as usual to bring her daughter to the nearby park.

When they were in the park, Lin Baozhai was playing with her friends there... And Lan Aixue was watching her as she sat on a park bench talking to some of the other young mothers like her. It was only an instant when she turned her head and found her daughter not in her place.

Lan Aixue immediately started searching everywhere around the park but couldn't find her daughter. She called up the police to register a complaint... As there were no phone calls or any other demands from the kidnappers, the police could only promise to try their best.

She searched for her daughter for a few hours only to come back home late. She had not eaten anything and her face was deathly pale... As she was crying holding on to the picture of her daughter, a wind breeze could be heard nearby. When she looked up to see what it was, her daughter was asleep on the bed right beside her.

Lan Aixue was stunned but swiftly took her daughter into her arms and hugged her tightly. The little girl seemed to have just woken up from a dream as she saw her mother and started crying as well.

Meng Tian was standing on a building nearby and observed the scene. After carefully checking the surroundings once again making sure that they were safe, he went back to his home carrying the items that he bought from the supermarket.

When he came back home, he saw his parents still waiting up for him, as they were a bit concerned with him being gone for about two hours. He went straight ahead and hugged them for a while. They were a bit surprised but it was a beautiful moment for all of them.

"My dear Xiao Tian, how come you are showing so much love towards us today... And such a long time to go to the nearby supermarket... Even if you jogged around a little, it is still a long time... Did you get a girlfriend!! When are you bringing her home to meet with us... Hahaha"

His mother started teasing him while his father also had a questioning face. Meng Tian immediately shook his head, but the beautiful face of his senior with the blue eyes, came to his mind anyways.

This change in his expression did not escape his parents' eyes, especially his mother. She opened her mouth and her eyes turned bright as she looked at him, "So, my son has finally been smitten by someone... Tell me, who is it?"
