Unfamiliar Feeling

"You two are possessed by Devils, so that means I need to execu-" the executioner said before Azure punched him in the stomach.

Azure kept punching him in the same spot until her knuckles were bloody and she was able to break through his armor. Azure grabbed his head slammed it on to her knee, his head bounced back as he dropped his sword and fell to the ground.

She picked his sword and hacked at his left shin continuously until the sword's blade chipped then she moved to his right leg and crushed his foot. She grabbed the same foot and threw him next to the burning wood.

"This is your most heinous crime, Baron" Jean said as walked towards the Baron .

"If you attack me the king will hear about this and he'll have your head on silver plate" the Baron said as he was walking backwards in fear.

"Then I'll just have to kill the king" Jean said as he jump at the Baron.

As Jean jumped at him, the Baron tried running away but as soon as he turned around Jean landed on his shoulders and he collapsed. Jean gouged both of his eyes out and as the Baron was yelling in pain, he started stomping on his chest over and over, repeatedly until his ribcage was broken.

The Baron was gasping for air as he covered his eye socket, Jean grabbed the Baron's side just where his ribs were and he gripped them tight enough for his fingers to sink through, he grabbed the skin and ripped it off, he did the same to the muscle surrounding his ribs until he was able to grab his rib but when he was able to he ripped them out of the Baron's body. The Baron died from the excessive pain but Jean didn't care as he started twisting his head until he was able to rip it off. Once he was done he looked to see if Azure was done.

Azure grabbed a peice of the burning wood with no regard for the pain as it was burning the skin on her hands she stabbed the executioner's eye with it, then she used a different peice of wood to claw at his stomach until it showed his intestines. As she was ripping his intestines out of his body, she remembered the the townspeople was still there but she ignored them until she finished the executioner as she stomped on him continously until her foot went through his chest and crushed his heart.

And suddenly the screen turned black, the room seemed like it was being lit by sunlight peeking through the shades on the window. Ezreal was sitting in there all alone with a satisfied smile on her face.

"There was two more before Coal... the sweet twins Yaira and Ira, the first two kids they couldn't keep alive for more than 6 years. They came out together and went out together" Ezreal said "It's their own choices that killed my siblings, them trying to settle down and hire a servant to watch a kid whose power clearly resembles that of witch craft. Who should I blame?, the people who killed me out of blind fear? Or the people who blindly constructed that part? Or should I blame myself for not learning more about myself and relying on the ones who promised to protect?" Ezreal asked herself as she stared deeply into the ceiling.

Approximately 10 hours past as they were watching their shared memories. Azure was inside of bedroom in the castle gazing at the city while Celes laid behind her staring at a painting, tapping her finger on her desk.

With each passing second the taps became more aggressive until Celes asked her to stop but blood was already leaking from the tip of her finger.

"Why are you so angry?" Celes asked as he walked and heal the small cut.

Jean was in his bedroom biting his nails as he was sitting on his window sill while Sefra was behind him eating chewing on something.

Jean biting kept getting more and more aggressive as he saw people crowd the castles front yard. While the people started crowding the entrance the memory replayed in Jean's head, he missed his fingernail and bit his finger, the blood started falling from his mouth.

When Jean and Azure  saw the crowd getting larger they had the same reaction. Although they were in separate rooms Jean and Azure said the same thing "Shit never change" A small ball raised from the floor below them.

"Come down to the public's stage" King Drausa's voice came out of the ball.

After a couple minutes passed Jean headed to the Public's stage where the Royals were waiting for Jean and Azure with Orval, Kass, and the other Generals standing besides them.

The "Public's stage" was a large balcony with the Royal's thrones on top of it and polished green rail with vines wrapped around it infront of the thrones. The green rail was high enough to just barely cover their chest.

"What took you so long, come sit" Queen Drausa said as she pat one of the thrones.

Jean and Azure's expression sour while they tried hiding it with a smile as they sat down.

Kass and Orval stepped to the front and a small microphone appeared in front of their mouths.

"WE THANK YOU FOR THE AUDIENCE, ALTHOUGH WE WEREN'T ABLE TO MAKE IT TO SAVE SOME OF THE KIDS IN TIME BUT WE WERE ABLE TO SAVE SOME OF THEM" Kass stopped.

"AS WE SAID BEFORE WE APOLOGIZE FOR NOT SAVING ALL OF THEM, WE ARE TO NO EXCUSE AND WE AREN'T EXPECTING ANY FORGIVENESS, WE WILL TAKE THE FULL FORCE OF THE BLAME BUT ALLOW US TO INTRODUCE THE ONES WHO SAVE THE SURVIVORS"  Orval said as he stepped to aside.

"HERE ARE THE HEROES: THE 5TH ROYAL JEAN AND THE 6TH ROYAL AZURE" Kass said as she stepped to the side.

"What?" Azure said in confusion.

"Why do you two look so confused, didn't pops tell you about this?" Prince Deso asked.

"No he didn't" Jean said as he stood.

"Haha... I forgot" King Drausa said as he looked away from them.

"Just say anything that's on your mind and don't stutter" Princess Delsa said.

"Yeah, if you get stage fright, just imagine nobody there and your just talking to yourself" Princess Tyrola said.

Out of everything that happened this week including their run in with Ezreal this might be what surprised them the most.

As they stood up and walked to the front where the people could see them clearly the crowd grew larger as the whole town and people from the other city was also there.

"IT'S THE HEROES!!. THANK YOU!!. MY CHILD IS SAFE BECAUSE OF YOU!!" the crowd cheered more as they saw their faces.

This caught them completely off guard as they were never cheered, they were only ever receiving banter even after trying to help the last time they did it was over a couple centuries ago so they forgot the feeling long after that, they moved on to killing people for only one reason: if people weren't going to accept them when they helped, they weren't going to accept them even after death. They forgot how painful it was for them to fight for others and followed this rule for years on end until a couple days ago where they helped save the kids. Being cheered made them feel a feeling they hadn't felt in a while.

"I guess things do tend to change " Azure said.

"I don't know about you but this is the only Kingdom I'm willing to risk my life for" Jean said.

"I agree. This is the only Kingdom who was grateful for us saving them but... we didn't save all of them, I know some of the parents are depressed because of it" Azure said.

The crowd started murmuring as they were waiting for Azure and Jean to say something.

"THERE ISN'T ANYTHING WE CAN SAY THAT'LL CHANGE THE WAY THINGS HAD HAPPENED.I MEAN, YEAH WE WERE ABLE TO DEFEAT THE MERCS BUT WE WERE A BIT TOO LATE, YOU WERE DEPENDING ON US AND WE FAILED, THERE ISN'T ENOUGH- THERE ISN'T ANYTHING WE CAN DO TO MAKE UP FOR IT" Jean said.

"THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE ABLE TO HAVE YOUR KIDS BACK, BE GRATEFUL YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO SEE THEM IN PEICES, BE MINDFUL TO THE ONES WHO DID... TRUST ME THE FEELING OF BEING UNABLE TO PROTECT THE ONES YOU BIRTHED INTO THIS WORLD IS A FEELING THAT SHOULDN'T BE IGNORED. IM NOT ASKING THIS FOR ME BUT FOR THE PEOPLE WHO LOST, YES YOUR KID MAY BE TRAUMATIZED BUT YOU STILL HAVE THEM WHEREAREAS THEY DON'T THE ONLY THING THEY HAVE LEFT OF THEIR CHILD IS A EAR OR MAYBE EVEN A PEICE OF SKIN. I'M NOT SAYING YOUR OBLIGATED TO HELP THEM OR ANYTHING I'M JUST SAYING YOU SHOULD BE MINDFUL. I KNOW THIS ISN'T YOUR FAULT NOR IS IT THEIRS, I DON'T MEAN TO SOUND SELFISH OR ANYTHING, I KNOW I'M NOT IN THE RIGHT TO ASK OF THIS BUT PLEASE ALLOW THEM TO MOURN WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL PAIN" Azure said.

"WE CAN'T MAKE IT ANYMORE CLEAR ABOUT HOW MUCH, WE REGRET NOT BEING ABLE TO MAKE IT THERE IN TIME" Jean said as he jumped off of the stage and Azure followed behind him.

"IF YOU WANT, YOU CAN TAKE ALL OF YOUR ANGER AND SADNESS OUT ON US" Azure said as she and Jean knelt down in front of them.

The crowd of people started surrounding them and as they getting ready for all of the attack two muscular men picked them up and tossed them into the air.

The crowd started cheering again as more muscular men took turns throwing them in the air.

"The people already understand and knows that it wasn't our fault instead their blaming the Duke for not dealing with it"  Queen Drausa said as she saw Jean and Azure fall down and come back up again.

"I need to have a meeting with him in a day or two, I'm not getting any reports from and he isn't dealing with controversy brewing in his city" King Drausa said.

"Uncle Reulo is in charge of that city, right?" Prince Dorl asked.

"...Yeah" King Drausa said.
