The Rogue Abomination (1)

A month ago when I set forth in this journey to vanquish the rogue abomination, thinking that doing so would delay the inevitable, I expected to fight a powerful yet mostly predictable. Fe.

The abominations, according to the times I've dealt with them at least, yearned to consume and corrupt. Everything they touch is either eaten or transformed, turned into something disgusting and otherworldly that makes demonic possession look like a children's puppet show in comparison.

And demonic possession was not only easier to handle, but also layered and structured.

As I stood staring at the bulbous mass of gray flesh before me, pulsing and vibrating like a putrid heart torn from an already rotting body, I was reminded that the abominations and the corrupted they carried were something else entirely.
