Chapter 10

"Beep!" A loud car horn sounded and startled the couple awake. The sound drew nearer to them causing them to rise from the bench. Xiao Min's eyes glazed over as he thought of his mother's accident. Suddenly, cold boney hands shoved him to the ground causing him to snap back to reality. He looked in front of him and saw a speeding grey Sudan rushing toward Ling Fei. Rushing forward he reached out his hand to pull her only to be met with the sound of breaking bones, her neck hanging loosely, and the smell of gasoline. Xiao Min slumped to the ground, his huge frame hung over as he gazed at the bright orange and yellow demon dance upon the life of his loved one. Tears poured out of his eyes as he blamed himself and screamed for the cure, he fell for was lost just as she was within his grasp.

The days went by, and Xiao Min retreated to the mountains to guard Ling Fei's grave. Six months passed and an unexpected visitor skipped her way into his life with a simple introduction. "Hello, I'm Elizabeth! Did you know that by dating someone you can be much happier?" The blonde, tan skinned girl said with a lopsided grin. Xiao Min looked at her toothy grin and her face overlapped with Ling Fei's signature golden retriever look, causing him to frown. Xiao Min jaw tightened as he glared at the person in front of him fiercely.
