Chapter Fifty-Four
“Odette! Where are you?!”
Crying out, she scanned the slowly darkening Forest while a restless Diana was moving in circles underneath her.
“Odette! Answer me!”
Once again, her lovely scream resonated around the eerily silent Forest, her eyes becoming blurry from the heavy shower of rain. Suddenly, as she patiently waited on top of a huffing Diana, Angelique heard a roar that overpowered the sound of the thunder.
Both she and Diana bristled, their hearts instantly spiking due to the impending intimidation. Holding her breath, Angelique tried to concentrate in the direction the roar was coming, but everything had become still. With shaking hands, she gave a loud squeak when the ground suddenly began to shake. Soon an anonymous roar followed.
