"Our leaders were Eve and Roxie," uttered Eugene, raising his head only to reveal a faint smile as he noticed the dumbstruck expression on Sarah's face, which he found amusing. However, after quickly wiping the smile off his face, he steadied his gaze. 

"So, I ask you this," began Eugene as he extended his arm, facing the palm upwards as he spoke in a tone that displayed his yearning. "Would you abandon Alex to join Jeff and me?"
