The Heroic Harbinger

In the ancient annals of the cosmos, there exists a malevolent force of unparalleled darkness, a nefarious entity whose very name sends shivers through the fabric of reality—the Demon King, harbinger of chaos and architect of desolation. Born from the abyssal depths where shadows converge and nightmares breed, this malefic being rose to prominence as the herald of doom, a force that unleashed hell upon the unsuspecting realms. I, The Demon King, whose existence predates the memory of mortals, am a creature of cosmic malevolence, dwelling in the interstices between dimensions. My arrival heralds cataclysmic events, as I wield power beyond mortal comprehension, capable of tearing the very fabric of reality asunder. With a gaze that pierces the souls of the bravest warriors and a voice that echoes the screams of the damned, I commanded legions of demonic minions and dragons that sow chaos and despair in their wake. The dimensions of cracks, torn open by me as the Demon King, are scars upon the tapestry of existence. Through these rifts, unspeakable horrors spilled forth, devouring entire realms and planes, leaving only echoes of anguish in their wake. I reveled in the chaos I wrought, relishing in the torment of those who dared to resist my infernal might. Yet, in an unforeseen twist of fate, a convergence of celestial alignments and arcane forces has led to the unimaginable—me, the one and only Demon King, stripped of my ethereal form, now poised to inhabit the fragile vessel of....

The Mentor

"Lets go meet our mentor first, and then we can go to our room. We should report what happened!" Bran said as we both walked inside the academy building.

Even in the dim light, Bran kept on talking to me about how we should report the details and about me. I just replied, "I don't really care to report about me first, Bran. Let's just report about the people, and after getting to know my power, we would proceed!" as I kept looking around and examining the building.

"Oh, you do have a point there!" he said as we kept walking.

I must say, even in this dimly lit scene, this academy had an elegant environment, and there were various types of abundant and lush flora within. "Nice!" I spoke to myself while walking.

"What the hell!" Bran said after hearing my sound, "You sound like this is the first time you are seeing our academy building. You old geezer!" he said with a smile.

Well, he does have a point. But why call me an old geezer? "I'm just fifteen, mind you!" I replied with my noble accent and a close expression to smile.

Bran was already at the Advanced Rank, and he has Lightning manipulation attribute as his element, which is in the Golden grade. And of course, even though we are the same sage, he does act like my current self's older brother of sorts.

"Your attitude is a lot to take in, bro!" Bran said as we were already in front of our mentor, a human male named Gladius Ravenheart.

Seeing me and giving a nod as I nodded back, Bran knocked on the door. Just as the knocking was over, "Come in!" the man inside the room signaled for us to get in, with a strong voice. I wonder how strong our mentor is. From the memories I have, he is at the King-rank, with his attribute, the gravity element, which is in the silver grade.

"Well, let's go in!" Bran said as we went inside the room, and I saw his desk, which is in the middle-top of the room. He sat as a dignified, muscle-headed, middle-aged man, with a face that was as fortified as a knife and an axe, with his sword brows on his temples. A scar through his ash-brown eyes and his blade-cut like short grey hair. His strong hold in appearance would make anyone anxious to speak with him after seeing how strong he looks, and when teaching, he is as strict as his attitude.

"Bran? Lucas? You guys are okay?" He was surprised as he quickly stood up from his chair and walked towards us, giving us a tight hug. I was affected by the strong smell of sweat from this muscle-headed body, but I was also able to feel how much worried he should be.

"Thank God? You guys are alive. I was so worried!"

Despite the looks and his attitude as our mentor, he seems to be quite a softie. Well, I can't still understand these human creatures after all. They have all kinds of complicated emotions and feelings which I never experienced.

"Master, it's okay; we got lucky and we escaped the dungeon. Don't worry about us!" Bran said as I played along, "Yes, master. Those hectic piss--sorry, idiotic creatures kept on attacking us as me and Bran retreated safely with minor injuries!"

Just as I completed my sentence, the man moved back his body as he took a good look at me. "Why is he speaking like some fanatic?" He asked with confusion.

"Stupid muscle-headed creature. You just escaped death because I was in no condition to kill you!" I thought to myself with my anger, but I managed to give off only a smiling expression as always due to my unparalleled act.

"Ha, about that. It's nothing like that, master; he is kind of an idiot from the start!" Bran said as he scratched his head.

Well, Lucas's attitude was seen like that. So, I can't argue with that. At least, I shall learn the way of normal regular speaking and proceed with my acts with precautions.

After that, we sat with Master Gladius as we spoke about what happened in the dungeon and about the others who were killed by the monsters.

"An elderly Lich, you say? How come a demonic species of that level could appear in a low-ranked dungeon you and the party went through?"

"And what about the Lich? Is that still inside the dungeon?"

Master Gladius has questions and confusions. Well, a Lich in this world is considered as powerful as a Grand Mage. So, I wouldn't be surprised if the Elderly Lich would be equivalent to rivaling a Magister Ranked mage of this world.

But still, this man is no idiot that we can just lie to. I should say I have been awakened to my new power, but I should keep low on details too.

"About that master--" I started as he was busy asking questions.

Taking a deep breath, "I was awakened when we were fighting in the dungeon, and that's how me and Bran were able to escape from there!" I replied with a confident expression. Seems like I spoke well with words now. Let's just continue like this from now.

"You were awakened?" Master Gladius was surprised as Bran's expression was clearly stating his confusion. I can't blame him though; I was the one who said I would keep my powers secret for now.

"Yes," I replied, as I summoned the black cube that was manifested due to my dark elemental attribute when I was smashing the insects in the dungeon, from my shadow space. The cube just formed into my hands as I was holding my hand out.

"So what? Your power is...is this cube?" he asked with curiosity. Bran was curious as well because I could say he was confused that time too and what was the power I was using there.

"Feast your ey—erhm. You see, master, this is a dark elemental cube that manifested from my mana flow, and this can turn into anything I want...like this!" I said as I changed the cube to transform itself into the black sword I created from before.

"Ooh!"

"Interesting!"
