Chapter 35: Revolution (3)

"MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!!!"

The crowd shouted as they tried to force themselves inside of the imperial palace. Blocking the remaining imperial soldier's and guard's attacks with shields worn by the imperial soldiers. Pushing them deeper and deeper into the gates of the imperial palace. 

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING!?!? KILL THEM ALL, WHY ARE YOU ALL STANDING AROUND LIKE IDIOTS!?"

The second general of the other half of the imperial army shouted in anger as he watched his men get pushed back. Glancing at the 50 imperial guards that were standing still. Holding their swords in their hands while their eyes shone a hue of pink.

"For master"

All of them whispered to themselves before charging in the direction of 500 imperial guards and soldiers holding off thousands of civilians by themselves. Slowly sliding inward before the general of the imperial army that joined the revolutionary army raised his weapon in the air.

"PUSH!"

He shouted, causing the soldiers at the front to increase the strength in their shield before bashing it to the enemy. Pushing the enemy soldier's shield towards the side before the soldier stabbed their bodies with their swords.

"FOR ALBEDO-SAMA!!!"

The imperial guards running towards the back of the defending army shouted, stabbing their swords into the back of the soldiers defending the gate. Shocking the Emperor and the officers inside the palace.

"TRAITORS!!"

The general angrily screamed before a magic circle appeared in his hands. Making General Morkomis frown, realizing the opposing general's actions.

"FALL BACK!!"

He shouted as the opposing general released poisonous mist from his hands. Spreading across the entire gate. Planning to sacrifice his own soldiers to get rid of their forces.

"FALL BACK!! HE'S TRYING TO POISON US!!"

He shouted, making his army take several steps back. Avoiding the reach of the poisonous mist as they watched the imperial guards inhale the gas. Making many, who don't have immunity to poison. To choke as their veins suddenly appeared on their necks. Struggling to breathe while their mouth foamed. But couldn't die due to their regeneration. Making them experience hellish pain.

"Thigran, you lunatic"

Morkomis said in anger as they continued to pull back while the poisonous mist spread. Pushing them away from the gates as Thigran showed a victorious smile on his face.

"Morkomis, you traitor!!! You're still a coward even after you challenged the emperor's authority!!"

Thigran provoked but was caught in surprise as the controlled imperial guards stabbed a soldier struggling to breathe on the ground. Biting his own lips as he endured the immense pain that he felt as he moved towards another soldier to kill.

"ANYONE WHO CAN MOVE!! KILL THOSE GUARDS!!!"

He shouted, causing the soldiers who were immune to the poison to look back before charging towards the controlled guard. Piercing their swords at their third eyes without much resistance as they were weakened by the poisonous mist.

"DIE!"

A soldier shouted as he dodged a vertical slash from the controlled guards before stabbing his sword on his head. Killing him instantly before another guard suddenly hugged him from behind.

"You! What are you- ARGH!!!!"

The soldier said in pain as he felt the guard's sword pierce through his chest. Making him grit his teeth in pain before the guard suddenly tore off his helmet. Piercing his own hands inside of the soldier's third eye.

"Shit! What happened to them!?!?"

An imperial soldier said as he stabbed an imperial guard through his chest before piercing his finger on the guard's exposed eye. Throwing his dead body to the side before getting stabbed by a knife by another guard in his waist. Making him kick the guard away, causing him to let go of the knife before the soldier pulled it out of his waist.

"Can't they feel pain!? How come they can still move!?"

He says while looking at the fanatic and desperate expression on their faces. Even when they are killed, they still had the same expression like they were all mentally broken.

"Where are the rest of the imperial army!? How come they aren't back yet!?"

He furiously shouted with a frown as he watched his men kill the last of the control guards inside of the mist. Making them heavily pant in exhaustion before looking at the revolutionary army with a look of fear in his eyes. Since, there was no way that they could win this, especially when all of the citizens has turned their back to the emperor so there was no way that they could replenish their numbers. 

They're fighting a battle of endurance to see which side falls first, but seeing how the revolutionary army has taken over a majority of the kingdoms around them. The chances of them surviving are very slim.

"Soldiers pull the rest of the guards and army out of the mist and reposition yourself behind me!"

Thigran ordered while keeping the mist active. Even though this could help keep the revolutionary army out of the gates. It was impossible for him to hold on for long, that's why he instead used this as a chance to let his men recover and fight them off again. He only needs to buy enough time until the rest of the remaining imperial army returns.

"Give the unconscious ones the antidote for the poison, and quickly reposition yourself!! We'll hold them off until the rest of the imperial army arrives!"

"RETREAT!!! GO BACK TO THE PALACE AT ALL COST AND ASSIST THE IMPERIAL ARMY!!"

A demon soldier shouted as he stabbed his sword inside of the neck of the undead soldier and slicing it off its body. Looking at the large crowd of undead demons surrounding their location.

"Shit"

He cursed as jumped back and dodged an incoming punch from an undead demon. Quickly piercing its head with his sword before jumping upward without letting go of his sword. Making the undead that attacked him from behind miss, cutting the demon in front with his claws as the soldier quickly pulled the sword out of its head.

"ARGH!!!"

One of his allies shouted as he got caught by the undead, ripping his body into two before the undead placed its head between his teeth. Crushing it to mush before the undead ate the entire body whole. Making the other soldiers shiver in fear as they tried to hold up the massive attacks from the undead.

"S-Sir, we'll hold them off so gather the elite and run away!! The palace is in deep trouble!!'

A demon soldier shouted as he twisted his body around to dodge the claws of an undead demon before slicing half of its head with his sharp sword diagonally. Making the demon look at him with a frown on his face.

"We're going to return as a whole so hold yourself together"

He shouted in rejection before an arrow suddenly pierced the head of a demon soldier behind him. Making him widen his eyes in surprise before catching an arrow fired at his head with his bare hands. Stabbing it into an attacking undead before another arrow pierced his shoulder. Making him growl in pain before stepping back.

"... We got company..."

He muttered before he suddenly crouched down, dodging an arrow aimed at the side of his head before blocking another with his sword. Quickly reacting to all attacks in succession.

"LOCATE THE ARCHERS AND KILL THEM!!"

He ordered, causing a few of the demon soldiers to push their opponents back before quickly running towards the source of the arrows. Making the undead go into a frenzy as they tried to attack them. 

"Protect them!!"

He said as 5 soldiers quickly ran in front of the undead. Blocking them off successfully. Allowing the 10 soldiers to enter the forest to hunt down the archer.

"Split up and search-"

He said but was interrupted as a flintlock appeared in front of his face. Firing a bullet at his third eye, piercing a large hole on his head before the little boy suddenly stabbed the flintlock in his head. Making the rest of the 9 soldiers frown as they watch their ally fall on the ground.

"You should be careful next time"

Katsu said with a mischievous smile on his face. Hanging upside down on the branch of the tree. Making two of the remaining 9 soldiers charge at him and slash their swords at his location, causing Katsu to let his body fall from the branch.

"Hehe"

Katsu said as the attacks missed him. Quickly summoning two flintlocks on both of his hands before aiming it at their heads. Pulling the trigger before letting go of the two guns to avoid getting pushed to the ground from the recoil of the gun. Killing the two soldiers instantly.

"T-They're children?"

A demon soldier muttered in surprise before vines suddenly wrapped around his arms and legs. Binding him to the ground while the other soldiers looked around in caution.

"Don't let him shoot! Kill him!!"

One of them shouted as he tried to run towards Katsu who had a casual expression on his face like everything is under his control. Slashing his sword downwards towards Katsu's head but froze as a vine quickly attached to his arm. Keeping the sword in place before an arrow pierced the third eye on his head.

"W-Where is that archer?"

One of them asked before the soldier beside him suddenly fell down on the ground after blood came out of his mouth. Making the remaining soldiers panic as they couldn't detect what killed him.

"Demon's anatomy... is still as complicated as ever"

Luna said while sitting down on top of a large rock. Looking down at the soldiers with a frown on her face.

"The imperial army won't be going anywhere... the revolution is just starting"

Elena said as she walked out of the shadows of the tree. Carrying a bow in her arms while looking at the demon with extremely cold eyes. Making the soldiers frown in response.

"Humans... We should've killed you all when we had the chance!! For the humans to hold hands with the revolutionary army!"

One of the demons shouted in anger, causing Elena to grin in response.

"It's the only way we can weaken you all... it won't be long until we can finally restore our kingdom... So, die for this cause, demon"

-with the emperor-

"Incompetent fools!! It's just a bunch of peasants!! Why can't you just get rid of them!?"

The Emperor angrily lashed while glaring at his officers who all remained silent. Making the Empress who was sitting at his side hide her face behind a fan. Covering the disappointed expression on her face.

"Y-Your grace, w-we need to leave immediately. T-The crowd is already closing in the place-"

"Why would I be afraid of a bunch of peasants? I can't believe I have to clean up the mess that you incompetent fools are supposed to fix!!"

He shouted as he grabbed the spear from the armor stand behind his throne. Removing the cape off his clothes and throwing it to the side. Clenching the spear in a strong grip as he stood up from his throne. Walking towards the entrance of the palace with a frown on his face.

"Y-Your grace!!"

The demon from before shouted before a large lance of concentrated water was suddenly shot towards the emperor, causing the emperor to clench his fist. Punching the lance of water with his bare hands, causing it to disperse and drench the carpet with water. Making the emperor frown in response.

"There's no need for you to join the fight of citizens, Vil'gos"

The deep voice of a man said as a pillar of water suddenly condensed in front of him. Making him frown as a man with long white hair tied in a ponytail wearing a loose light blue cloth appeared in front of him. 

"Phibris... what are you doing here?"

He asked as the man descended down the ground while several droplets of water appeared around him. Making the emperor take a defensive stance.

"I'm here to settle the score with the being who massacred my creation"

He said, causing the emperor to smirk. Looking at him with a vicious expression on his face.

"You alone? Do you even know where you barged in?"

The emperor said with a provocative expression on his face. Pointing at the large number of officers and the empress inside the palace.

"... Do you really think I came here without any precautions?"

Phibris exclaimed as the eyes of the silent officer and empress shone with a pink hue while a heart appeared in the middle of their pupil. Making the emperor frown before turning his head to look back in Phibris' direction.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Why don't you find out about it yourself... All I can say is that they won't interfere until one of us dies"

He said as water condensed in his arm. Making the emperor frown in response before glancing at his empress who only smiled in his direction, causing him to tightly clench his spear. Preparing to face Phibris, a true god, alone.

'Roxanne-sama... Your husband has appeared, I might need your help to face him...'

He said as he sent a telepathic message towards, Roxanne, while sweat ran down his cheek. Since he knew himself that he had a very slim chance of winning against Phibris.

"Unfortunately... you're on your own... since I'm busy as well... I have an unexpected guest at my domain"

Roxanne replied while looking at the golden hair man standing in front of her. Making her take a step back.

"How did you find this place, Lucias Frey?"

"That's the least you should worry about"

Lucias said as a magic circle appeared beneath him. Enveloping the entire labyrinth that Roxanne used as a home before she felt the mana around her burn. Making her frown in response.

"[Domain Activation: Destruction]"

He muttered causing the magic circle to shine. Temporarily inhibiting their abilities to use magic spells and mana. 

"It's the first time... That I had this urge to beat someone to death with my barehands. Let's see how powerful you are, copycat"
