The Heretic Sword God

The Heretic Sword God, The One Who Betrayed All, The Thousand-Faced God, The Jester's Blade... These were all names given to one person by the masses; Khoru. But, that's too far into the future. Let's start at Khoru's beginning, his start on the path to both supreme and unparalleled strength, and godhood... Khoru, originally someone from a distant planet known as Kale Planet, perished and reincarnated on another planet. In his next life, Khoru realized that there was a drastic difference between the two worlds. This world had supernatural powers. The people of this world could awaken supernatural beings known as 'Martial Spirits' at the age of 12. Not only would these beings aid people in their cultivation, they could even provide people with magical items or abilities. Khoru just so happened to be born into a small noble family in Yellow Apple Town; The Ghostly Blade Family. They were a noble family full of sword fanatics. It was said that each member of the family would awaken a weapon type, almost always a sword-type, Martial Spirit. They were all extremely powerful as well. So now, not only did Khoru have to survive in a supernatural world where death was as common as eating, he also had to live up to the expectations of his overbearing family... And even worse, he was born as the illegitimate son of one of the supreme elders of the family! Fear not though, because Khoru won't fold under pressure so easily! = = = = = [Cover does not belong to me, I only edited it a bit.]

Merchant Marley

"No problem." Khoru said with in an annoyed tone. All those questions gave him an intense headache and he didn't even feel like selling his monster cores anymore.

'I just came here to sell some monster cores...' He thought as he summoned his purple sword; surprising the audience. Merchant Marley joyously clapped her hands as she turned around and spoke.

"This, everyone, is indeed the true young master of the Ghostly Blade Family." Her announcement made everyone in the crowd shout.

"What?! It is? I thought it was just a fraud!"

"Hah! I told you he was the real deal! There's hardly anyone in our town that has such pristine hair!"

"Oh shut up!"

Countless people felt like idiots, while others reveled in happiness.

Merchant Marley turned back around and slammed her hands against the stall counter.

"Oi, young master, why are you in such a dangerous place?" She asked.

Khoru flinched when he heard her say 'Oi'. He hadn't heard someone say that words since he reincarnated in this world. It was quite a pleasant surprise.

'I guess this world does have some diverse cultures.'

"I... I'm here to sell my monster cores, that's all." Khoru said as he gestured at his monster cores. The crowd behind Merchant Marley was too busy arguing with each other and getting into lightly scuffles.

"Hm. Alright, I'll buy them all for 25 gold." Merchant Marley said as she slammed 25 gold coins on the counter out of nowhere.

"Hm. 25? Why? The most these sold for is 10 gold coins, and that's already pushing it! These monster cores are only worth around 1 gold coin..." Khoru said, awfully surprised. Another thing he hadn't seen in this world at all was a generous person.

At all.

"Don't worry about it. Forming connections is more important than money, after all, I have more than you could imagine." Merchant Marley said before taking the monster cores and leaving. Just before she faded into the crowd though, she spoke again.

"Oh, and if you see me next time, just call me Marley. Merchant Marley is pretty formal, and I don't truly consider us just acquaintances now!" Marley hopped and skipped away without giving Khoru the time to respond.

'Such an energetic character...' Khoru's mood was uplifted and he quickly faded through the crowd as they continued to argue with each other.

Later...

"Hey, where did the young master go?"

"I don't know... Where did the monster cores go as well?"

"Where did Merchant Marley go too?"

"Did one of you idiots swipe the monster cores while I wasn't looking?! AHHH!"

The crowd of people had come to a calm for only a short while before a gigantic brawl took place...

...

"Whew! I'm pretty exhausted from that whole fiasco and I've worked up quite the appetite. Although, all I did was stand behind a stall..." Khoru rubbed his stomach when it rumbled and he looked around.

It was becoming nighttime and people began to turn on their oil lamps to illuminate the front and inside of their taverns and various shops. Khoru loved the aesthetic of the town that was before him.

In the next few seconds, he spotted a tavern that looked rather good.

"Moonberry Inn. Huh." Khoru quickly approached it.

"Since I'm pretty hungry, and I'm still out in the town, it wouldn't be a bad thing to eat out at a tavern right?" Khoru didn't really care about how much money he'd spend since the most expensive food he could find would probably only be around a gold coin or two.

Monster cores started at 1 gold coin or so simply because they contained Spirit Qi inside of them and could speed up a person's cultivation.

Khoru walked up to the entrance of the Moonberry Inn and looked around before entering it. For the most part, it was filled with adults, but there were still a couple families inside; mostly fathers and men.

'I wonder what type of food this inn serves, hopefully not the same as some other random tavern.' Khoru sat down at an empty table and looked around. Shortly after, a woman who looked to be around 20 came to him while holding a giant slip of paper.

She placed it on the table and before she could speak, she noticed Khoru's giant eyes staring right at her.

'N-No way! T-T-This only... This should only be in Japanese worlds, not wuxia worlds!' Khoru was on the verge of crying. His eyes instantly locked onto the woman that approached him because of what she was wearing.

A maid outfit!

A MAID OUTFIT, MAN!

He didn't think he'd ever get the chance to see a woman naturally wearing a maid outfit in such a world, but he was wrong. Even the maids at his family's mansion never wore such things.

"E-Excuse me, little one, are you okay?" The young woman asked with a small smile on her face.

"Y-Yes, Momm- Ma-'am, I'm fine! S-Sorry..." Khoru quickly turned his head away and looked back at the menu that the woman placed on his table. Even in his old world, he was fairly young so he was attracted to maid-outfit-wearing women!

What can I say?

Maid outfits are great!

Khoru had a big smile on his face as he read over the list of foods that were being served at the inn.

"I-I-I'll take the Blood-Rabbit stake; small and t-t-tender please! C-Can I also have a side of ca-carrots and mashed potatoes?" Khoru asked while stumbling over his words. He scratched the back of his head in the process.

The young woman looked at him for a moment before laughing.

"Mhm, sure. I'll be right back with your food. Do you want to keep the menu in case you want to order something else?" She asked.

"N-No, I'm fine tha-thank you." Khoru said. The young woman nodded her head lightly before SLIGHTLY bending over to grab the menu.

Khoru watched in disbelief as the world rendered in some heaven-defying jiggle physics. A second later, the woman was off to get his food.

'Life... Whoever put me here, I love you!'
