The elderly man's memory was not good to begin with, let alone from thirteen years ago.
The old woman wrinkled her brow, seemingly trying hard to recall something.
"That's just too long ago. My memory isn't so good, I really don't know."
Madon Linggo interjected, "It rarely ever snows heavily in our province, and that year saw the heaviest snowfall in nearly a decade."
"Oh, I remember now! Your uncle was digging a well in the neighboring village and was trapped there for several days due to the snowfall. He hadn't taken his diabetes medication for days, and his health almost gave out."
"Your sister..." The old woman absentmindedly scratched her silvery hair.
"She never came back. If she had, I'm sure I would've remembered. I remember the heavy snow caused your house to collapse. Your uncle had some people patch it up. I thought you and Lidya must come back. If the house collapses and you can't come home... that just won't do..."
The old woman was rambling on and on.
