If these people hadn't kicked up a fuss, they could have clocked off on time and wouldn't have had to be working overtime well into the evening.
"I think the fool here is you," The veteran officer finally let out a grumble.
"The credibility of our justice system has been ruined by people like you. Remember well the five words 'Serve the people'. Our existence means nothing without the people. The interests of the people always come first, no matter what."
The veteran officer scolded with a stern face.
In a flash, the gaze of all the police officers converged on Ahmed Hayley. Some were mocking, others were looking down on him, some even indifferent.
Ahmed Hayley's face turned beet red instantly. He wished he could find a hole in the ground to crawl into and hide from this deep sense of humiliation, his humiliation and rage mingling unbearably.
Resentment flickered rapidly in his eyes.
"Captain Ling."
"Captain Ling."
Everyone straightened up and looked behind Ahmed Hayley.
