The Heartless Magician's Fate (GL, Cultivation)

Meet Han Abrial Chae-young. A reckless demon, a badass blade fighter, and a total shitshow by probably most of the Empire of Gongkua's standards. After being imprisoned in her parents' house for eighteen years and finally breaking free, her first goal is to, um...well, go straight back to the house. She has to, ok?! It's in order to rescue her best friend and (technical) servant, Finley, who's still stuck there, and for whom she doesn't feel anything except total platonic non-romantic non-sexual attraction (starts coughing violently cough COUGH). In the Empire of Gongkua, Abrial will have many adventures, meet enigmatic people, cultivate the art of magic, and slowly experience the unfolding of a mysterious fate that has shrouded her from even before birth. A mysterious fate involving the one and only murderer of millions, the cruel and heartless Emperor of Gongkua — the one who's wanted Abrial dead from the very beginning.

A Companion Gone; An Angry Asshole Points Meaty Fingers

Abrial's obsidian eyes widened. "Gone? What d'you mean, gone? Gone where? He ran away? Or…?"

Finley's hazel eyes glittered grimly, and Abrial's heart sank right out of her body.

"How…did he die?"

"In the massacre a few months ago. No horse was left alive. He died quickly; there was not a lot of pain."

Abrial's vision flashed red, blurring. She touched her face and looked at her finger, expecting to see blood, then jarred when she only saw salty tears. She was so used to crying tears of blood that tears of saltwater had become unsettling to her. When she spoke, her voice shook slightly

"So… you're saying the Emperor killed Dal?"

"...I suppose indirectly."

Abrial's fists clenched, bunching their blankets tightly. She breathed in sharply.

"I'll kill him," she murmured, her face dark. "I'll volunteer to do it. At that meeting Bi Gho was talking about. I'm gonna kill him."
