Chapter 14: Saki

Saki had always been a strange girl. From a young age, she had a fascination with death and decay that was both unsettling and intriguing. As she grew older and entered Good Hills High School in Kyoto, her peculiarities only grew more pronounced. She would spend her weekends exploring the nearby woods and bringing back strange specimens for her collection.

The other students at the school whispered about her behind her back, calling her a weirdo and avoiding her at all costs. Saki didn't seem to mind though, she was content with her own company and her macabre hobby.

One day, a group of students from her class stumbled upon her collection while they were exploring the woods themselves. They were horrified to find jars of preserved animals, bones, and other morbid curiosities. But their shock turned to horror when they found Saki sitting in the center of the clearing, calmly eating the remains of a dead rabbit.

The group ran back to school and immediately reported what they had seen to the authorities. Saki was suspended from school and her parents were called in to discuss her disturbing behavior. But after the initial shock wore off, the other students began to make fun of her even more.

Saki didn't seem to care, though. She had always been a loner, and now she had even more reason to keep to herself. But as the weeks went on, strange things began to happen. One by one, members of the group that had found her in the woods began to go missing.

At first, the disappearances were brushed off as coincidence. But as more and more students vanished, it became clear that something sinister was at play. The police were called in to investigate, but they couldn't find any leads.

As the days went on, Saki became more and more isolated. She stopped coming to school and her parents reported that she had disappeared from home as well. But some of the students couldn't shake the feeling that she was somehow connected to the disappearances.

One day, one of the students who had been part of the group that found Saki in the woods received a strange message on their phone. It was a photo of Saki, sitting in the center of her collection of dead animals. The caption read "Do you want to join me?"

The student was horrified, but they couldn't shake the feeling that they needed to see Saki again. They went back to the woods where they had found her and called out her name. To their surprise, she appeared from behind a tree, her face gaunt and her eyes sunken in.

"Are you the one taking our classmates?" the student asked, their voice shaking with fear.

Saki didn't answer, but instead reached into her bag and pulled out a jar filled with a strange, glowing liquid. She uncapped it and took a swig, and the student watched in horror as her body convulsed and twisted into a grotesque, inhuman shape.

The student tried to run, but Saki was too fast. She chased them through the woods, her body contorting and warping as she gained on them. Just when it seemed like she would catch them, the student stumbled across a clearing filled with strange, glowing mushrooms.

Without thinking, they grabbed a handful of the mushrooms and threw them at Saki. To their surprise, she recoiled in horror as the mushrooms burned her flesh. She fled back into the woods, and the student was left alone in the clearing, trembling with fear and confusion.

The police never found Saki, and the disappearances eventually stopped. But the student who had encountered her in the woods never forgot the experience. They would wake up in the middle of the night, sweating and shaking as they relived the moment when Saki had been knocking at her window and calling her,

"Do you want to join me"
